I hope Liz Taylor and Liza Minnelli attend. They have been there for him, it seems, even when his family wasn't.

I hope they are too. They were more his family than his blood family was.

I'm sorry but I beg to differ.

I worked with Marlon for years and he ADORED his brother and is destroyed by his loss. He was everything to him. Janet and Jermaine were very close to him, too.

Just because photogs find it more photo friendly to take a pic of Liz or Liza with Micheal, they were his friends. His family (canNOT speak for Joseph or Latoya) were always with him.

I meant that as a general rule. I believe some of them were close to Michael but I don't believe they were all close to Michael. It was obvious (to me at least) that Marlon was very close to Michael at the public memorial service. I believe Janet and Randy were close to Michael too. We know Michael was close to his mother. I have my doubts about some of the others.

Sometimes you do develop close relationships that go just as deep as family if not deeper. I think Elizabeth Taylor and Michael had that for sure.

Macaulay Culkin is supposed to be there too according to Entertainment Tonight. Haven't heard anything about Diana Ross yet.

These words were on the funeral invitation :(

We Love Him
We Laughed With Him
We Sang With Him And
We Danced With Him
But On This Day
We Celebrate Him
Please Join Us As We Lay
Our Beloved Son
Cherished Brother
Devoted Father,
Michael Jackson
In His Final Resting Place.

Liz Taylor is there - in a wheelchair - looks great CNN is showing live footage and is airing a special at midnight tonight. M. Culkin is there, on the last row.

As far as the closeness between Liz/Michael - from the photos, from her book, from weddings, etc. they claimed to be, and appeared to be, best friends.

I feel sorry for the family members who used him for what he could do for them.

This really seems to be the "funeral" - instead of the one back in July - that was more of a memorial service but this (what they're showing, anyway) seems dignified, and honoring his memory.

BTW, I read somewhere online they will have open casket viewing tonight. Maybe the guests will exit through the mausuleum.

The world will never be the same.
I hope he's seeing colors he's never seen... and hearing notes he's never known before!
Rest now Michael.. and let the media go suck their socks.

I also heard that there would be an open casket and his children would put letters in the casket tonight. I wasn't sure how much we would be able to see of the service tonight since it is private but I am very pleased with the coverage so fare. We are seeing it closer up than I expected.

RIP King of Pop, Michael Joseph Jackson. :littleangel:

That girl with M. Culkin needs to quit smacking her gum!

Tom Mesaru (MJ's criminal attorney) is there

Open casket after being dead for almost 3 months??? :scared1::scared1:

Without sounding too morbid or going into too much detail, you can still be very well preserved after that long, depending on how they have been taking care of the body. I'm in nursing school and we get a cadaver for our classes in August, and we use the same one until the following July, and it holds up very well.

Where are you all watching he coverage? Best internet site? As of now I am watching CNN no official announcements of who is in attendence have been made though it is clear that the family is still MIA

I am watching CNN. I have to admit I am growing a little impatient since it's almost an hour late. Joe Jackson is there. I guess he wasn't invited to ride with the rest of the family?? :confused3

Why does CNN.com say this may not be his final resting place? Is Neverland still a possibility? Are they just speculating or where is this coming from. Their website has said that all day.
