Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe...you are NOT the parents!

Michael didn't need to adopt the first two children, they were his by the fact that his wife delivered them.

Even if Debbie Rowe is not the biological mother, she never legally was posed as a surrogate, but the mother. She had her parental rights reinstated years ago, after she fought for custody during the molestation trial. I think that was a compromise between MJ and Rowe.

I predict Rowe will ask for custody of the two older children. I can even see the surrogate mother of blanket coming forward if there was no surrogate contract.

I still can't imagine that MJ did not have a will. For a man surrounded by lawyers, in dozens of lawsuits, with many, many contracts to not have a will? It may be years old, but there has to be one out there.

I'm an attorney. Not an estate or family law attorney. Don't take my ramblings as gospel.

The posters who said this varies state-to-state are correct. Each state has come up with its own way of dealing with this.

Some posters are getting hung up on who the "biological" parent is. That's likely the wrong question to ask in Jackson's situation, at least with respect to the older kids. The general rule is that if a child is born into a married family, it is legally presumed to be a child of that union. In many states, this remains the case even if DNA evidence later proves the child is not the child of the father. I had to read a couple of cases in law school about how a guy discovers that his kids aren't his, divorces the cheating wife, and is still on the hook to pay child support for "his" kids, because as far as the law is concerned, he's the daddy. I don't remember them very well, but my recollection is that those were the holdings. It's been a long time.

You are right my brother was killed in a car accident in October 29 years old, which i strongly think his girlfriend cut him off the road. We wasn't able to prove it. He had a newborn son that the mon said it was my brother's. My brother refused a DNA test and the court made him start paying child support. I question him about whether the child was his many many many times. Well my brother is deceased and the mom gets over 1,000 in benfits a month...Guess what, the suppose really father has surface and since my brother claimed fathership of the child there's nothing that can be done even if the mom is currently living with the biological father.

I really wish that people would make an attempt to stay on topic.

My dad (and uncles) dangled me and my cousin by our ankles over lots of things when we were kids. We lived...no scars. I'm not saying MJ is father of the year, but please let's not make the balcony incident the damning pice eof evidence that spells out his failures as a dad.

A will was produced late yesterday that was dated in 2002. Some people think there are other wills.

:woohoo::woohoo:

Apparently, Michael's dematology doc (whom Debbie Rowe worked for), is the daddy. Debbie was not the egg donor, just the surrogate. AND....Michael never formally adopted the kids.

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out now!

Anyone else just trying to imagine how this conversation went?

"So, Mr. Jackson, I am not seeing much change in your condition since last month. The scars are healing nicely, keep putting the ointment on them that I prescribed. Is there anything else I can do for you today?"

"Actually Dr, I would like for you to father my children by donating your sperm to be used and implanted in your receptionist. Will that be an extra co-pay?"

:rotfl:

Those poor kids. They seemingly belong to no one at this point. How sad. And jmho, to place them with MJ's parents is like putting a lamb in a lion's den. Isn't Joe Jackson the real cause of MJ's insane lifestyle?

Aren't Katherine and Joe divorced? Everything I am reading talks about the kids going to Katherine only. I don't think that she and Joe are together anymore and he isn't getting custody.

I don't think the Jackson's would reject the kids at all. After 12 years they are MJ's kids and I am sure Katherine loves them like any of her grandkids.

It is sad that not any of Michael's genius had a chance to be passed genetically to his children.

I didn't hear that, but hopefully they are divorced!

What really bother me. Is NO ONE question if he was the kids real father while raising and providing for them. Now that he's dead people want to question it....Shame on you

I've always questioned it. I remember having a discussion in the office with someone about 10 years ago, they said they thought the kids looked like him. I said - remember what he REALLY looks like - like in the Jackson 5 days or as a teenager. Plastic surgery did not alter his DNA!

i think its sad all this bad talk about him now that he's dead :(

Oh please. I don't know how old you are but people ALWAYS talked about Michael Jackson. You think this is "bad?" People said this and more when he was alive.

Nothing being said is new.

I think now, everyone, is just worried about his children.

He was what he was: a sad, sick, and emotionally tortured man. People talked about him for years, but it's just now that the truth is coming out regarding things he's denied & lied about for years, hence the discussion. There's nothing being said now that wasn't said before.
