Hi everyone! I'm starting to get back into the habit of lurking, so now is a great time for me to begin our planning journal.
About us: Michael and I are both students at the University of Oklahoma. He is in his first year of law school, and I am a grad student in the Sociology department. Even though we're both stressed out right now, we are having a blast planning our wedding! We travel as often as we can, and we love to go to hockey games, watch OU football, and spend time with our two Westies, Bailey and Riley.
Us:
At Disney in January 2007:

How we met: We met in March of 2003, which was our Senior year of high school. Neither one of us was looking for a long-term relationship, as we were getting ready to graduate, but as soon as our mutual friend introduced us to each other, we were inseparable!
The proposal: Michael proposed to me while we were on a cruise in the Caribbean on July 21, 2005. One night, he walked me up to the very top floor of the ship to the wedding chapel. A waitress from our favorite cocktail bar was standing in the middle of the chapel, smiling at us. We told her hello and quickly walked back downstairs. I asked Michael why we'd gone up there, and he said, "Um, I don't know." I laughed and commented that I thought he might propose to me up there.
Michael laughed, too, and we wandered around the ship for a while. A little while later, he somehow managed to lure me back upstairs to the wedding chapel. Right in the middle of the room was an ice bucket and a bottle of champagne. Michael got down on one knee and made his beautiful proposal. Of course I said yes!
It turns out that the waitress had been helping Michael all along, and she thought he wanted her to be up there to open the champagne for us! Since his proposal didn't work out on his first attempt, I think we have an even better story to tell.
The wedding: Yep, we have been engaged for a long time already! We originally planned to get married in Mexico in June 2008. As the plans developed, I started to doubt them! My mom was inviting tons of people, and I really wanted it to stay pretty small. Late one night, Michael and I started talking about the possibility of a Disney wedding (since we've been to Disney World twice together, it means a lot more to us than does Mexico). I looked into it and fell in love with the Intimate/Escape package. So far, we've booked the following:
Ceremony Venue - Sea Breeze Point
Reception - Andiamo at the Hilton in the Walt Disney World Resort
Officiant - Rev. Jack Day
Photographer - Randy Chapman
Hair/Make-up - Patricia LeJeune
Anyway, I'll add more pictures soon of my dress and accessories, our attendants, and other junk!
