We are considering staying in South Beach a few days before our cruise. We don't want to rent a car, anyone have recommendations on hotels that are walking distance to the beach and also to good restaurants?

Thank you!

This will be our second cruise, we stayed by the airport last time, nice but not a ton to do. Hoping to find something with more to do.

I highly recommend the Loews! One of our all time favorite hotels. We stayed there in 2014. Beautiful pool and comfy loungers by the pool, great beach, and so close to Lincoln road for shopping and restaurants. Very convenient location and beautiful hotel. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

This is a great area, Lincoln Road is one of our favorite local destinations, especially this time of year when the weather is so beautiful in South Florida.
There are several nice hotels in the area, if you look on Trip Advisor for hotels near Lincoln Road, you can see the others.

Have fun!

It depends what type of area you want- do you want a party? then stay at the new cleavelander or something in that realm, right on the beach on the main strip. if you want a more quiet relaxed place go a couple of blocks off the beach, check trip advisor for reviews. If you want awesome food, make a reservation now for Barton G's, its expensive but so worth it! the martinis are ridiculously good. I love South Beach, I'm actually headed back next week- ill report back if I try any new restaurants and let you know how they are

We love The South Beach Hotel at 1700 Collins a block from ocean ave. great rooftop pool or access to beach a block away. Lots of good restaurants within easy walking distance. It's a small boutique hotel. The rooms are a little small but clean and nicely furnished. The staff is terrific. Expensive but no more so than other hotels around.

We stayed at The Dream last October before our Halloween cruise and I just loved it. We walked over to Whole Foods, walked to the beach, walked all the way down to South Point Pier and South Point Park. It's just beautiful there. Walking up and down Ocean Drive near the Art Deco District, it's just one cool restaurant after another. It's easy to fall in love with that area. I'm sure there are lots of other nice areas, but we are big fans of not having a car and just walking everywere, and South Beach is awesome for that. We took Uber to the port and it was easy. I wanted to rent those Citi Bikes that they have but we just ran out of time.

Thanks all! We will have our 3 year old with us, so definitely more beach than party :) We anticipate wanting to go back one day when he is with the grandparents, but really want to check it out.
