Miami resort for three day pre-cruise stay?

We booked a four night cruise on the Magic for February and plan to spend three days/nights prior to the cruise relaxing at a family friendly resort in the Miami area. Any suggestions for moderately upscale resort that is still "affordable"? Would love the Ritz in Key Biscayne but a bit out of our price range. Would love close to a beach, pool, but with a resort type feel. Willing to be 30-45 min from port if it is a great place and affordable. Any suggestions welcome! Kids are 13 and 11...

we stayed at the JW Marriott Marquis on points the night before the cruise... it was really a cool experience, they have bowling, a basketball court and and a pool and a nice little area to walk around and its close to the free people mover/monorail thing, gorgeous hotel

Look on Trip Advisor, you should find something in your price range on the Ocean. Look on South Beach
There's a Loew's Hotel not too far from the Ritz.

We are considering Lago mar and Pelican beach in Ft. Lauderdale for the same thing. I am also tempted by a few resorts on the North end of south beach.
