Has anyone stayed close to MIA and used the hotel shuttle with a toddler? We are hoping to stay at a hotel that is less than a mile away and use a shuttle that does not require a car seat. Any recommendations??

There is a hotel in the airport (Miami International Airport Hotel). We are staying there for the first time in March.

Deleted, as I wrote about the Hyatt MCO, not the Miami airport hotel. So sorry.

We stayed at the embassy suites at the airport in Jan for our cruise on the Magic. It was great. The hotel was nice. They have a shuttle from the airport and if you book the cruise package, it includes your transportation to the port. Worked great for us (my mom, husband, and 2 kids that are 3 and 6). You just should call them after you book to schedule which shuttle you want to the port as there are a couple of time options. We did the 10:30 and that worked perfect.

So, the shuttles are both small bus style with some lap belts (not all seats had one). We did not have a carseat and was told one was not required for our 3 year old. Honestly, I dont think there would even really be a way to strap a carseat in. I was not terribly comfortable with no carseat cause i am a safety person. But we strapped them both in with lap belts and held on to them. We felt perfectly safe. We had thought of other hotels/options (like Uber), but since they do not have Uber Family in Miami and we really had no desire to drag a carseat with us for limited use this set up worked perfect for us.

We stayed at the Miami International Airport Hotel in November and found it very convenient . Quality was Ok and the ease of connecting with the Disney shuttle was worth a little extra expense.

Hello, we stayed at the Comfort Inn and suites Miami north and it was great! Free airport shuttle, free cruise shuttle and free breakfast. there is a subway and McDonalds very close by. enjoy your cruise!:o

We stayed at the Miami International Hotel last month, prior to cruising on the Magic. We flew in early, to avoid the big snowstorm, and lived at the hotel/airport for three days. Overall, it was passable. When we checked in (after midnight), there was some computer issue, so we couldn't get our keys until the morning; the security guard had to walk us to the room. The breakfast wasn't spectacular (mediocre food, pretty poor service), and we had to pay for the first day. We did have vouchers for the remainder of the time. On our checkout day, we took our own bags down to the Disney transportation.

Truthfully, the biggest challenge was being stuck there for so many days. Food was pricey, and there wasn't much for my son to do, other than get into a lot of mischief, lol. It was like the movie, "The Terminal." We did rent a car one day, to take our son to the children's museum, and just get out of the airport. Ultimately, it served its purpose, but it wasn't my favorite hotel, by a very long shot.

I'd give it 2.5 stars (out of 4).

was there a liquor store close by to get a couple of bottles of wine or beer to take on board ?
