Hi Friends! If you are like me, you like to rearrange, change, and exchange all the time! You redecorate your room? Change the theme of your room? Make a new game out of an old one? BAM! Your are left with stuff like furniture and decorations that you no longer need, but just can't let go for only 10 credits! Bought a couple of Asteroid chairs because they were new and you just HAD to have them? But then realized they don't really match your Tiki Room and don't know what to do with them? Or maybe you want to buy something from a store but just don't have the cash right now? What on earth can you do?!

Well, I'll tell ya! Come to MIAKODA'S FURNITURE TRADE (new name) room for bargains galore! Trade that old sofa that just does not match your wallpaper, those spiderweb pianos you just had to have but realized they were too big to fit in your room, or the lamp that you are sick of looking at!

See something in Miakoda's Random Junk Trade that will match better with your room? Trade me something for it! I don't care what, as long as it's something I can put back in the room for someone else!

Just PM me at "MiakodaWDW" on DIS, tell me when you want to drop by take a look around, or just search for the room and come on in! The swap shop is usually open in the evenings! And if you see me somewhere else in the kingdom and want to follow me to the store, I'll gladly give you directions and meet you there!

I often think that VMK should have a yard sale with all the items that are in the accounts of people that are banned. They can not access them again and why not let some player either buy them (beta stuff especially) or use that stuff as prizes.

I know that it is all virtual but I know of one person that was banned that had a lot of beta stuff. It is too bad that all went into the black hole of cyberspace.

But then again think of the line for that type of thing

I don't know if anyone from Dis came in after I made that post, but I was in the room just putting stuff out and not really expecting anyone to come in the room yet. but I was almost immediately bombarded by kids wanting stuff in the room. LOL I had fun, I posted pics on the walls with rules like "tell me what you want before making trade request b/c I have to take it out of the room first" and "if I do not respond to you, I am in a trade please be patient". And in the room description, I put "please read photos before trading". My favorite was that I put in a photo, and I think in the room info, "everything you see is for trade except teleporter and the rope blocking the room, and anything I am wearing!" SO many requests for my crown or pins, it wasn't even funny. I don't care though, I know most of them were kids or new and didn't know any better. I traded so many things for worthless stuff (i.e., a piano for a few shirts I already had....and some chair for a green hamper which i immediately put on the floor for sale). The point is just that I know there are a lot of kids who need stuff, and it's easier for them to see what is in stock and get it for cheap. The only reason I don't give them for free is b/c I want to be able to put another furniture or other item in its place so the room won't be empty! It was fun. this one girl wanted some furniture item so bad, but all she had was a shirt and told me she only had a rope divider and chair in her room. I like to help people that are not on DIS and don't know about making mules and getting more stuff. (it reminds me of the SIMS....I always played with the cheat codes for a lot of money b/c I can't imagine actually having to "WORK" and make money to buy things). I like being virtually rich, and especially sharing the wealth!

A special thanks goes out to my first trader, CL_disfaniam who showed me her awesome "extra stuff" room and traded me some cool quest items for my Herbie couch. I was amazed at how much stuff she had! made my pitiful swap meet room look sad

If everyone can obey the trading rules, I think this room could be more fun than my games!

Basically the idea for this room is just to put all the stuff I don't want or need in a room and people come in. They see what they want, give me something (I don't care what) for it, as long as it's something that I can put right back in the room. It's just a way for me to facilitate trades and help people get what they want for items instead of credits, and they can see what is available. Man, the room is getting full: I may have to put in a back room!

I now have a teleporter from the main room to "Miakoda's Random Junk Trade Too" or something like that. I was running out of room! Thanks to all the DIS ppl that came in and traded. I am very pleased with this room, people can get the items for sale in stores for cheap items they dont' want instead of spending the credits. I have a few other skull rock rooms so who knows....this swap shop could be HUGE!

BTW...special thanks to bluepinkmonkey for helping me out when I had to go to the other room or follow a trader to their room to make sure teleporters they were giving me matched.

Plus this taught me not to accept teleporters in a trade...even if I need them! LOL. Too much trouble to exit to the trader's room to test them out and then come back. Thank goodness for bluepink minding the store for me!

Well, I had my first BIG night at the shop tonight. If this was a real and not virtual business, I would be rolling in dough! LOL not really though, since most of the trades are uneven value-wise, and usually not in my favor. But that's not the point of the shop!

I have some people to thank:

daffypluto (don't know your name on DIS....) for giving me a lot of stuff and a really good trade that was in my favor for sure....

and a HUGE thank you to CL_disfaniam, for I could never have handled the crowd and all the trading without her help! She spent her last hour or more on VMK helping me behind the counter, keeping people in line, making sure they followed rules, and keeping track of everyone's turn to trade and what they wanted from the room. She also kindly donated a LOT of stuff for the rooms. You win my favorite DIS member of the day prize for tonight! LOL!

Hi it's me,

Just wanted to say Hello and let you know I saw this. Thanks for helping me out with getting the suitcase I had, then traded away, then had again and traded away again, and now have again and will not trade because third time is a charm. I want also thank you for your effort in helping out the kids that need a cheap place to shop. Not everyone is a fortunate as ourselves and it is people like you that take the time to help them that makes VMK and the Dis a Great place to be.

I have a few rooms I want to clear and will stop by from time to time to see you and drop some things off in the hope they all find good homes and bring smiles to those that recieve them.

What a cute poem! Hehe. Thanks for the compliments and thanks again for the help. I know the kids will enjoy what you gave me (I don't remember what you gave, with things being so hectic....it was bad enough trying to remember what everyone wanted! PLUS I can just come from a grueling shift bartending at the Surf Spot! You people are mean to a girl on her first day! Yesterday was like working two real jobs!) but I'm sure it will all find a home.

I even am getting something for myself out of the deal...a couple of nice DISers like CL_disfaniam traded me some rare stuff or quest stuff that I am keeping for myself! Hahah. I deserve some profit with what I went through! After last night I see that I need to make some changes, like a more defined queue area. I didn't think they would be lining up like that!

HI! I have expanded the shop, it is now three rooms of stuff! The queue area is more defined to avoid confusion. And I hired an employee, bluepinkmonkey. CL_disfaniam also helps me out, but if anyone else who is on a lot in the evenings (until close) I would really appreciate taking on more employees! Employees get a pick of whatever piece of furniture they want from the room. Or if you don't want pay, it's just fun! (Maybe even Surferrat can trade help at my store for me helping him run the Spot!) LOL. PM me if you are interested. Your responsibilities would be:

1. Make sure all new people coming in read the rules on the four photos on the wall and in the room info before trading.
2. Keep the line moving, and keep track of who is next while I am trading and going to other rooms to get furniture.
3. Stop any between-customer trading that is going on (example: if you see someone try to ask for someone else's pin or hat, etc.....tell them no trading with each other in the store. That just clutters up the room (which does not have much room as it is). Ask them to please go somewhere else to trade and only stay in the store if they are "buying" my stuff! So they won't get in the way of people looking around the rooms and trying to line up at the counter.
4. Tell me if anyone needs to be booted and why, you can use PM if you want to be nice and not let the whole room know, or say it out loud if you want to make an example of them and let them know why they are being booted.

That's about it....basically, crowd control. I would appreciate any help you can offer! That way when I am ready to open and my two workers are not on, I can find you and see if you can assist me. It's a lot of fun, and a great way to help people get furniture they can't afford b/c they are saving for the expensive costumes!

Not neccessarily...LOL. I said maybe I could "trade" work with Surferrat if he wants....take turns helping each other...but it seemed that other people were begging for a job too when they saw me behind the counter, so I'm sure Surf will not be understaffed if I can't help as much! Hey, I can have two virtual jobs...especially since I no longer have a real one! LOL. I went looking today so soon I may have 3 "jobs".....

However the room has changed, since it constantly changes each time someone trades me something. Something goes away, a new thing goes in it's place.
The map tables in the lower left are the "counter" that I and my employees stand behind (there is a turnstile there now. Also there are now two teleporters going to the additional two rooms (thanks to a bunch of people and in large part tof CL-disfaniam giving me more than one item for something....or just a bunch of stuff for free! LOL) full of other stuff for sale! I don't like it when people come in and just see the first room, they think that' all there is for sale and dont' check out the other rooms B4 leaving. I am going to have to rearrange and put all the most desirable stuff in the main room!

It's funny, last night, I had more requests for job applications than I did for stuff! I told one girl she could work for me as "backup" when my other helpers cannot work, but then realized she could not even follow the rules and kept asking for teleporters and if there were more rooms, after both disfaniam and I told her several times that they were thru the teleports.

Most of the kids are very sweet and appreciative tho, and I am having loads of fun with this endeavor! Thanks again for your donations DIS people! If I get too many more, I will have to open a FOURTH room and aquire some more teleporters for the customers to beg for! I will not say no though to free stuff or trades! ;p;

we may then have to expand the "backstage" (counter area) to fit more teleporters in to go to the other rooms!

This store is great! For every few "unfair in my favor" trades I make, I get a person that comes in an is just so generous. A guy named something like "underwtrman" (I didn't know him and forgot his exact name) came and gave me 5 green and blue turnstiles for a 100 credit space chair! I told him to please pick out some other things, and he just picked one more item (a cannon room divider). Then he gave me another (purple!) turnstile. I love running my "thrift shop" and the donations make it so much more fun to run! I don't think he is dis, but thank you to the generous donator of the turnstiles!
