Okay, I don't know if CM's read this forum or if they always work at the same park or not, but

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Our 1st day at WDW on our 1st trip, we lost our cell phone. (On 8/22) We were using a new backpack and didn't realize the cell phone holder was detachable. Well during one of my many taking off/ putting back on the backpack, it must have become detached. And we didn't realize it until the bus ride home. My dh called the phone (his) from my cell once we got back to the room.

William (Moya?), a manager at MGM left a message back on my cell and brought the phone to my dh at CSR. My dh asked about telling someone, but the CM declined.

So thank you to the CM (or guest) who found the phone and turned it it and thank you to William for bringing it to CSR!!!!!

I'm not an MGM CM, nor do I play one on TV, but I read your post anyway because I had a similar thing happen during a media event at Animal Kingdom.

As we were enjoying the closing event for PowWow (held at AK this year), I noticed my cell phone was missing. I realized I must have left it on one of the tables in Dinoland (they set tables up all along the walkways in various sections of the park so that you have a place to sit and eat). I went back but my phone was already gone.

Johnathan, who must be the World's Most Patient CM, proceeded to call my cell phone from his cell phone. Another media guest had picked it up and when he answered, he proceeded to give Johnathan directions on where to find him (false directions, it turns out). Johnathan had to call this rotten so-and-so 4 times before he got a decent answer from him (why the guy kept answering, I'll never know).

Anyway, after nearly an hour of searching and calling, Johnathan found the man and returned my cell phone to me.

And THAT is why I love Disney. It's CM's like yours and mine who remind us what customer service and going the extra mile is all about. I am truly grateful. :thumbsup2

I lost my cel phone on BTMRR once. To be honest, the CM I spoke to wasn't particularly helpful, but the next guest who rode after me found the phone - called the last number dialed, (found out I was at the ride looking for it) and waited for me at the ride exit. I was also very grateful.

That is great!! :thumbsup2

I good idea is to pass those comments on to Guest services, email or snail mail. They do get put in the CM's personnel files and they are made are of it. And it does count as a plus for them at review time, etc.

I too have done the "calling numbers on the phone" thing when I have found lost cell phones. It's can be quite comical! Once I got a guy's father who really didn't understand who I was or what was going on, but apparently he called his son, because the son called me a while later and arranged to pick up the phone. Apparently Dad had no idea Son had lost the phone and couldn't understand what I was saying about having found it. He thought I was calling FOR his son! I think he was elderly and just didn't understand me.

My Mom lost her wallet at Mousegears in Future World and the cast members were great. The wallet must have went straight to Guest Relations because they had it and everything was in order.

Does anyone know if that information is on file? The cast member who returned it? I'd like to write a letter to Disney complimenting him or her. I've got a list of names for various other stuff and would like to add this CM to it. :thumbsup2

Yes there are quite a few of them on here, most of them don't like to broadcast it.
