Mexico Resort - Sandos Playacar, Sandos Caracol Eco Resort, Iberostar Tucan or Barcelo Maya

Looking for an all inclusive resort for a December trip (as we are not sure we will make our cruise). Our kids are 16 and 12 years old and since there are a lot of families on here, I thought I'd reach out for opinions. So far, the following have caught my eye in Playa Del Carmen:

• Sandos Playacar All Inclusive - looks nice, on the beach, many activities
• Sandos Caracol Eco Resort - the waterpark is what is drawing me for our kids
• Barcelo Maya Palace All Inclusive - huge pool
• Iberostar Tucan All Inclusive - good reviews for family resort

The first three also have good room configurations so that our kids can get their own bed space.

I'm a beach person but our kids prefer the pool (or waterpark). Food should be good. Our kids don't go to kids club but we'd like a place with lots to do....swimming, things such as boogie boarding (if the water is swimmable...I have been reading of seaweed issues lately), kayak, bike riding, perhaps indoor activities in case of cool or rainy weather, evening entertainment is a plus.

Any recommendations? It's so hard to pick as no place has everything.
