I think it would be fun to grab a margarita at La Cava, maybe do the boat ride; but my DH thinks it will be swamped and not worth fighting the crowds. Anyone been to Mexico on 5/5?

huh, I just realized our plan has us hitting epcot for the first time on the 5th, and we're starting WS with a margarita! how serendipitous! (and hopefully its not too busy)

This question gets asked every year (naturally.)

But, year-arfter-year, there is seldom anything unusual about the crowds at Epcot's Mexico on May 5.

Prepare to wait for a table at La Cava anytime after about noon or so, but it isn't usually too terrible.

We ate at San Angel Inn on Cinco de Mayo without even realizing it. Just happened to be there that day and had a reservation booked months ahead of time. There was absolutely nothing going on.

It's a bigger deal in the US than in Mexico. Very few people know it signifies Mexican victory over the French and is not Independence Day. Mexican Independence Day just happens to be my birthday!

Is there anything fun/unusual for Cinco do Mayo anywhere in Disney? We are arriving that day, so it will probably be a low key day for us... just wondering if there is anything fun to see.
