Can someone tell me where to get the best price for an all inclusive in Mexico?? Looking at Iberostar Tucan or Dreams Tulum next July. Trying to travel on a budget.
Thanks

We went last year and booked through Expedia.com. We went in June and I booked around Feb. My brother used Orbitz.com for his trip.

For our upcoming trip to Dreams Riviera Cancun we used allinclusiveoutlets.com. going mid week (ex Wed to Wed) usually brings the price of the airfare down. Try playing around with dates. Also, time of year effects price. We are going in Oct (have been there twice in october and twice in May) because it is cheaper. July is going to be more because more families are traveling.

Just a heads up that airfare to Mexico is (imho) ridiculous right now. Mexicana air has gone bankrupt and with some other FAA rules the airlines have jacked up prices really high. So you might want to check airfare costs before you settle on Mexico.

Try:

expedia.com
applevacations.com
beachdestinations.com
funjet.com
orbitz.com
travelocity.com

We've used several of these in the past. They all have different rates.

What do you consider a good fare? I fly out of Logan (boston) and I have no idea what is a good fare...from what I have seen so far, I am hoping to get under $300 PP in Jan., but I am not sure what is average

We have paid as little as 340.00 (upcoming trip) to as much as 600.00 (2 years ago May Friday to Friday). We are going wed to wed this time....little cheaper.
Check kayak.com...I plugged in a wed to wed date for you (Jan 2011) and came up with 308.00 a ticket on american, but they weren't direct flights.

Edit: out of JFK in NY

Oops you wanted July...sorry!

Thanks.....I am currently watching airfare from Hartford on a Saturday (only non stop) and I would like to travel Delta due to sky miles. So far the fare is $484pp non stop to cancun. I will watch it and pray it gets cheaper. If not we may find another destination.

I always book packages...so sometimes the resort is offering such a great deal that it offsets the cost of the airfare. I have a number in mind that I wish to spend in toal and look at the package prices to determine where we will stay.

You might want to take a look at Cheapcaribbean.com. I was working with a travel agent and found a cheaper rate there and asked my travel agent if she could match it and she actually beat it. Prices are very good.
