I wasn't too happy with the Pirate menu on the Dream. I remember wishing we would have had Remy on that night, so when this cruise came up, we knew we wanted to have Palo on Pirate night.
So when i'm not organized and the house is a mess, I get cranky. So this weekend, we did almost a full house detail. I LOVE when things are just how they're supposed to be. I know it's silly but it puts me in a great mood! Plus we were able to sit around on Friday and Saturday night and rent movies which was awesome!![]()
I don't know why but I was sure it was baby news. I agree, a clean straightened up house makes me feel much more peaceful.
I'm really dreading that Pirate Night menu, but my mom wants to experience it. Let's see how she feels afterwards. Thankfully there's always other food available so I won't starve.
I love to check how much the cruises are selling, only because I wonder how DCL's business is after adding two more ships. And the MR cruises are mostly selling so I'm unsure why they wouldn't be going back. After your TR I think it would be a lovely destination.
I have read some people really enjoy the Pirate Menu so I'm hoping I'll find something. My problem is I only eat fish in the meat department and it seems heavy in that area. I'm trying to keep an open mind.![]()
Do you like seafood as well? The grilled shrimp and scallops was a great dish. I also enjoyed 2 apps... the pearls dish (seafood) and the crab cake. Always remember, if you don't see an entree you like, you can always order several appetizers instead if you like them... get whatever you want. You can also have pretty good luck just asking nicely, "could the chef prepare me a fish dish?" I have yet to see the chef not take care of a special request like that![]()
I'll get back to my TR as soon as possible but I just wanted to say this....
It happened!

Pam, you were right on the nose!
I didn't start when I was supposed to, but I was cramping like I was going to start (sorry for the TMI men that are following along) but it was a different type of cramp. I took a test 2 days after I was supposed to start and it was negative.
On Thursday night, I was craving Chinese food, so my family (brother, sis in law, mom, me, and DH) went to a restaurant and at the end of the meal we were given fortune cookies. DH's read his and it said something like, "You'll be receiving something you've always wanted very soon." And mine said something like, "You'll get a surprise this week." - it was along those lines, i'll have to look at them when I get home (of course I saved them!)
That Friday morning, I decided to take another test and it came out POSITIVE!I was happy and nervous and frightened and excited all at the same time. I've been reading many different things about when to make the big announcement since 1 in 4 pregnancies are miscarried by the 12th week. I got to thinking, I need to tell my family soon, because they'll find out eventually, once they start noticing i'm not having a beer or a glass of wine with dinner, whenever we go out once a week and I wanted to surprise them.
I told DH on Saturday, and GOSH DANGIT, I wish I recorded it. I gave him a little bag and told him this was a late New Year's present and that this was a toast to hopefully a great year (he knew at this point I wasn't pregnant because I told him the last test was negative - he didn't know I took another test that was positive.) He pulled out the onesie(the one in the pic above) and he said, "Aww, that's cute babe thank you." Then I said here's one more present, and it was in a much smaller bag. I gave it to him, he pulled it out and it was my positive pregnancy test. He said, "Is this for real? Are you pregnant?!" And started bawling on the spot. He jumped out of the chair and started crying. I've never seen him like that and honestly didn't think he would react that way. After we both settled down, we started discussing when we should tell our parents, and we decided to do it when we have our ritual dinner.
We usually have family dinners on thursday, but it got moved up to wednesday because DH has parent conference today and wouldn't be home till late.
So we asked if everyone could just come over to the house for pizza and game night. LUCKILY, I decided to get this reaction on tape. We debated on how to pop the news, but eventually went with the game room idea.
We have a room in our house that was going to be DH's game room. He was going to put up posters, penants, etc of the San Francisco Giants and the Greenbay Packers. We never had time to start it, so when everyone came over (my mom, brother, sis in law, DH's mom and dad) DH told them he wanted to show them the game room and told them it wasn't finished yet.
Here's the video. I hid the camera under some clothes...

So there you have it!
I'll be 6 weeks on Monday and even though it wasn't 'officially' a souvenir, the trip was the kickoff to our journey, and I'm completely happy and grateful that we got pregnant so soon.
Congradulations. I guess the next cruise will be in the next 18 weeks or in about a year or more!! Any cruise plans?
