I left us off in the hotel room....
So we only had one day in Boston and there was one thing that was a MUST on my list...

Yup! The Samuel Adams Brewery Tour! Before this though, we stopped off at the Harvard Shop right around the corner from our hotel. Our nephew, who is 11, has always wanted to go to Harvard since he was little. In fact, his bedroom is painted in Harvard colors. So we HAD to grab some Harvard gear for him to help motivate him!
After that, we went to the Harvard T station, bought our subway tickets and took off to go on the tour.
I must say, the subway system in Boston is super easy and convenient!
Anyways, according to my next picture, this was taken at 10:45am

Yes....almost 11 am, going to do a beer tasting, without any food in the stomach. SMH.
But because the brewery was a little bit out of our way and we had a tour in the early afternoon, this was the only time we could schedule it in.
The tour itself was really neat...AND FREE! (we did donate a few bucks though, so we're not that cheap )
)

This is where they showed us the different grains and hops they use to make the various types of beers.

I need to point this out...this area had no air conditioning and it was WARM! Our poor tour leader was sweating horribly. It was gross. But this area of the tour was very informational and neat.
After what seemed like FOREVER (maybe like 10 minutes) we were able to go into the room where all the beer is held...not remembering the name, and it was nice and cool!

These guys are hand bottling these special beers

AND now! The best part of the tour....THE TASTING!
You sit in long tables in what looks like a bar and they gave us 4 different types of beer to try in large pitchers. However, since there were lots of wives in there that weren't drinking beer (just along for the husbands I suppose), there was always a LOT leftover...and it's just wasteful if you don't finish a pitcher, so of course we helped out whenever possible!

Let's recap:
- No Food
- Lots of beer
Can you see where this is going?

). Well about 3 weeks ago, I knew my garden was pretty much done producing (zucchini wasn't producing as much and neither was my tomatoes) so I let my garden grow. I went out there this afternoon to look at the jungle of overgrowing vines and what do I find?? 2 Eggplants that are growing and 4 WATERMELONS! What the heck?! I thought these were all Summer veg/fruit?! Anyways, i'm going to watch them for the next week and see how much bigger they get so I can actually use them.
