Mexican Riviera Cruise with WONDERful Souvenir in the Works! 6/7 PTR Link!

OMG I've been MIA..I am loving your TR!!! It's bringing me back to cruise!! We had very similar meals. I am totally re-living the whole ship through your report. ahhhh :)

It was then time for the next thing I dreaded most….ziping into a pool of frigid water. And I mean FREEZING water.

Looks like an AMAZING excursion ! Thanks for sharing all of the pics !

Thanks for another great day! I felt like I was there with you! I am a pretty simple eater, so to me that taco truck is my version of palo. I dont really drink, but eating tacos until I pass out is my idea of a vacation :) I am the same way in Sacramento, if I see a taco truck or dive taqueria with all Mexicans and no white people, I know that is good. I will keep my eyes out for that truck in Cabo!

I'm sure there are some FABULOUS taco trucks in Sacramento! :thumbsup2

Daniel was our server in Palo last year and was EXCELLENT! Sadly, we won't be able to have him on our next cruise as he has moved to the Fantasy.

He did tell us that he'll be on the Fantasy and we told him that we'll probably see him there!

:lmao:
Thanks for all the updates! I've been swamped and haven't had a chance to reply, but I've been following along when I can watch from my computer. I don't ever bother looking at your updates from my phone because they just don't do it justice!

Palo dinner looks as amazing as I remember it, but in 2001 it was only a $5 supplement! :lmao:

I hope that we can do another Wonder Cruise. I even brought the "we can't go to Cabo" part up to Fran with the whole tender issue and she said, "the best part is on the ship, why would I mind?" so now all we have to do is come up with the money and I hope we can book. Hopefully they will have some 2013 itineraries!

I want that chocolate souffle!

I've been swamped too! It's been four days since I last logged on

Holy cow! If it was still $5, i'm sure we would have eaten there every night! Prices sure have rose, haven't they?

I'm still waiting on the 2013 itineraries to see what we're going to be doing. I really want to go on the Fantasy but wouldn't mind going on the Wonder again, or even the Magic. I guess we shall see!

Yum!!!! I cannot wait for that chocolate souffle at PALO!!!! Thanks for such great updates... can't wait for more. Your pics are great!

Thank you!

:rotfl:

Hey what ever works, those apps looked great and since you seem to work often no worries... :)

So did I miss it... di you say if you made ressies on or off the boat?

For the Palo dinner, we booked 90 days out. But from the low attendance, I heard that there was plenty of openings for both Brunch and Dinner, so we could have waited until we boarded. But I really wanted to make sure that we got it on Pirate Night. And there wasn't many people eating there on Pirate Night (i'm sure it's because everyone wants to dress up, which is fun). In fact, our entire table was at Palo that night!

Just found your TR and it's fabulous.

I am now dead set on going on a Disney cruise after reading just your first 2 days!

Oh you must go on a Disney Cruise. You'll love it so much!

Hi! Everyone here is doing well...just very busy and tired. Monday is the last day of classes for the semester in high school...the rest of next week is Regents Week (state exams for high schools in NY). Instead of being a proctor for exams, I am working next Tuesday through Friday from 12-7pm. The students come in on those days for rehearsal from 9am-7pm. Another one of my advisors is with them in the morning before I get there. Then on Monday the 30th, there is a professional development day...once again I will be working the rehearsal from 12-7, as students will be there from 9-7 again. Then we will begin the new term, and rehearsals will be until 8pm for the 3 days leading up to the show. But I might be working until 10pm on those days, since we will be finishing up the Playbill (1,000 per night, 2 nights!). :scared1:

Eric and the boys are coming to the Saturday evening performance, Feb. 4th. There is a raffle at the end of intermission, and the boys get to pull the 2 winning raffle tickets! They are both very excited about that! ;)

I updated my pre-TR with pics (finally) from the day we left for Foxwoods! So I have finally begun posting food porn! :rotfl2:

Holy cow! It sounds like you're going to need a vacation from all of this after this is over.

Yay! I'll head right on over to your PTR!

I love your t-shirt design... just wondering where and how can I find the information to order ours?

I found the DISign on one of the DISigners threads and asked her to add some of the information that I wanted on there. I'll go back and try to find her thread. Otherwise there are lots of people over on that thread who make fabulous designs and are all FREE! You print it out yourself and make your shirts, pillowcases, etc. It was really easy and fun to do.

Ok I have to ask which was better brunch or dinner at Palo?? I think we are going to try and do both on our cruise, but I had to ask just in case we could only do one :goodvibes

Oh gosh, this is a horrible question... Honestly, if you could swing it, I would definitely do both. It's so worth it, especially if it's for your Honeymoon. Otherwise, Dinner is a little more romantic and intimate.

Oh wow, your Palo dinner looks wonderful :cloud9:

I am going to try and grab a ressie for Brunch for our next cruise (don't think we'll have time for dinner as well)

I am loving your TR :goodvibes

If you can't do dinner, definitely have Brunch. They were both equally amazing and i'm really wanting some of that Chicken Parm right now!

Your Palo dinner looked beautiful and yummy. We didn't hit Palo on our Dream cruise last summer (Remy was our big splurge) but I really want to try it on the Magic in June. Your TR is SO selling Palo :rotfl: to me. I don't know what looks better dinner or brunch.

Wasn't Remy amazing!? We were talking about it, and if we are ever on the Dream or the Fantasy again, we'll be doing both Palo and Remy. Both places are too fantastic to not go back to.

Really enjoying you trip report, can't wait for ours in April.

Two questions: Did you just use american dollars, in Cabo or did you exchange for Pecos? my wife is earing roumors that they don't take american any more:rotfl2:

Also, I have forgotten, when do you leave s tip for Palo servers? is it the same night as service?

thank you, can't wait to see more of your tr.

American Dollars! In fact, they prefer american money, so have lots of small bills. And haggle with them too. If you feel something is too high, make a smaller offer. They'll usually take it.

For Palo, after our meal, we received our receipt and there was an opening on the receipt that allows you to leave additional tips if you want to. And that's when you leave the extra tip, after your meal.

Hope that helps!

OMG I've been MIA..I am loving your TR!!! It's bringing me back to cruise!! We had very similar meals. I am totally re-living the whole ship through your report. ahhhh :)

I've been MIA too! No worries!

Wow...that dinner looked so good!

Haha it was delicious!

That excursion was amazing and want to tell everyone about it!

Did you dislike the Pirate Menu?

But hey, :confused3At least I'm going! & getting to go to the park with 10 of my besty pals) and will be doing the Zip Line Adventure FOR SURE! I was on the fence till I saw your pics!!

I wasn't too happy with the Pirate menu on the Dream. I remember wishing we would have had Remy on that night, so when this cruise came up, we knew we wanted to have Palo on Pirate night.

So when i'm not organized and the house is a mess, I get cranky. So this weekend, we did almost a full house detail. I LOVE when things are just how they're supposed to be. I know it's silly but it puts me in a great mood! Plus we were able to sit around on Friday and Saturday night and rent movies which was awesome!

I can't wait to read more!:cool1:

Coming up!

Awesome! A friends trip!! I wish I had that many friends to travel with! :lmao: You're going to have an amazing time!

Another update coming up!

After our SCRUMPTIOUS dinner, we rolled back to our stateroom to get changed and see if we could make it to see the fireworks. But look who we found hanging around..

At this point it was after 9 and for some reason, I thought the fireworks started at 9. Oh well, we could at least catch the tail end, so we headed outside to see what was happening. We ran into this

There was absolutely, positively, NO WAY we could put any more food into our tummies. We were beyond full and almost to the point of hurting.

We caught a bit of the show that was going on and everyone looked amazing! Tons of people were in full pirate costumes. I wanted to walk around for a bit because I was uncomfortable so we made our way up to the top deck when what do you know, the fireworks show started!

I really enjoyed the music and it was fun to experience. Dummy me, I thought the Pirate Party started at 9, but it starts at 9:45 so don’t make the same mistake I did.

After the party, we headed to the Beverage Station for some waters to take back to our room, where we quickly fell asleep watching Captain America (not the best movie, IMO) :lmao:

I taped the same thing when we went on our cruise. LOL I loved the song they picked for the fireworks show and couldn't help but video tape it.

Woohoo! I love LeshaFace updates!

Your trip looks like so much fun. I love your walking tour of Cabo. We are definitely going to try to track down some coconut candy! Yummy :-)

Can't wait to hear more! We sail in less than two weeks. Nervous and excited at the same time.

Do you know, was it the same song? I thought that song was so cute. I really liked it in the movie Shrek 2.

Hi my friend!

Oh my, your trip is coming up rather quickly!

Yup. It was the same song. I love it because when I was on kickline in high school we used that song and I love it in Shrek and Footloose. :)

I know EXACTLY what you mean about getting everything organized etc! I have a room that right now is just where we dump all the stuff when we don't have time to deal with it and organize and it's killing me! I'm off tomorrow and Jack is going to school and the dog is going to the groomers so I am so excited to have a whole day to deal with that room! I am thinking of taking before and after pictures :lmao:

In all the excitement to stake out a good spot for the show etc I completely forgot about the buffet! Of course, I had two desserts that night so I was stuffed too :rotfl:

Thanks for posting this Pam, looks like no more Mexican Riviera cruises after 2012. So I'll have to sneak on in during the Fall if we can.

I called this morning to switch a dummy I have booked and I've been waiting for the new itineraries-- :surfweb:he said only itineraries up to Sept 2013 are released, so there may still be a chance for you! :cool1: It really sucks that people are reluctant to MR cruise, because its pretty darn awesome. ;)

We wont be cruising in 2013 (but we do have a wedding in Cabo to attend :cool1:), but hoping for 2014 and REALLY :worship: hope its out of LA. Cheapest travel option for us.

Love the new update Leshaface!
