Mexican Riviera Cruise with WONDERful Souvenir in the Works! 6/7 PTR Link!

Yep, the submarine ride. Too cute that it now has a Nemo theme. I can distinctly remember going on that ride when I was 6, but the next time we went it was gone. I thought it was so cool!

I remember reading that they left a momento of Mr. Toad in Pooh's ride, but I can never remember to look at the end of the ride, there's just so much to see I totally forget.

I am SO EXCITED!!!!! I never actually pack until the night before, but I've been gathering. I just can't wait to see all the Christmas decorations, and I can't imagine how beautiful they make the ship. You're going to take lots of pictures right?

I must say, I think I like the original submarine version compared to the Nemo version. It's still cute, but I like all the old stuff!

Yes! It's Mr. Toad handing over the deed to the Owl (I think?) and it's on a wall where you have to look very quickly for it. Oh wait! I actually got a picture of it!

P6060052.jpg

I just started gathering up stuff last night. And when I say stuff, I mean I pulled my two bottles of wine out of the cabinet! :rotfl2: I plan on doing a little bit more over the weekend getting all my paperwork together, pulling out the suitcases, and doing some shopping for toiletries.

They talked about this at the Destination D event. There are three "shout outs" to Mr. Toad in MK. I think the thing in the Pooh ride is a picture of him with owl, and it has something to do with the deed to one of their houses. There is another something in the MM meet and greet near town square, and I'm sure most people know about his statue in the HM pet cemetary.

Ugh, i'm lame, I didn't know about that one at the HM. Or the MM meet & greet. :headache: I need to get my butt back to the world ASAP!

Oooo I didn't know about the Live365.com. I am definitely going to check it out. Thanks.

Yeah no problem! It's pretty neat!

Hi Leshaface!!
I have been MIA for a while & busy with life! I still haven't done the TR I've promised. I've wandered from the DIS for a little while but I am working on wandering back! I just found out this week I WON a MR Disney cruise!! So now I get to go through the whole excitement all over again!! I am soo glad you posted pic from DL!! We are going this weekend for 1 day. I am sooo excited. I hope you feel better soon! You will have to tell me how the weather is down there, we are thinking we will go for the oct 28, 2012 sailing (forever away I know) but I have convinced my parents to come along this time :) I can't believe your cruise is soooo close!

WOW! CONGRATULATIONS! Who did you win the cruise through?! That's awesome! I don't think i'll ever win anything big like that in my life. :sad2: That's going to be fun, a family cruise.

It was very last minute, but we were able to pick up the puppy last night around 9pm. I had really wanted to wait until we got back from our trip to get him, but DH just wasn't having it. He wanted it right away so he could see how the puppy and our pug would interact. And technically, this is his dog, so he could do whatever he wanted.

We picked him up last night and found out they had to put the other puppy down yesterday :sad1: They found a tumor and it had spread and it was inoperable. I felt so bad taking the puppy. I knew they were keeping the other puppy because the mom died and she wanted one to remind her of the mom. I offered up our puppy because her little girl (3 years) was like, "Are you bringing him back?" :guilty:

Anyway, we'll be dropping him back off on Friday, Dec 9 so they can watch him while we're gone.

But here's some pics!

He's almost as big as my pug who is a little over a year old

OH, and his name is Bowler! Short for, of course, Bowler Hat Guy!

It was really neat. I sat with my DH had my glass of wine and relaxed listening to it while he was watching the game and having his beer. So relaxing. :thumbsup2

What a cute puppy! So sad about the other one though. :(

Awesome! I really like Mouseworld2 (when it's not restricted), Reedy Creek Radio, Park Hopper Radio, and Mouseworld. You kind of have to play around with the stations to see which songs you like the most. It's really relaxing and I often play it while making dinner instead of having the tv on. A good way to wind down.

OMG!!! The face on your puppy. So adorable!!

He has the sweetest, most pathetic looking face ever!

What a cute puppy! So sad about the other one though. :(

I know, I was really sad for her. I thought she was going to cry when she was explaining what happened.

And in case anyone noticed, Bowler's right paw turns inward when he walks, runs and stands. My cousin told me that a couple of puppies on the last litter had this too, and that they grew out of it. When she took it to the vet, the vet also told her he would grow out of it eventually. I did a little research on it and it seems like a lot of bigger dogs have this like Boxers and Great Danes. I also asked this question over on the Community board because I know there are a lot of Diser's that have Boxers and I wanted to get their opinion on it. Hopefully he'll be fine.

Bowler is so cute!!!! I'm glad they'll take care of him while you're gone, but that's so sad about the other puppy :( Is his right paw ok? Did the two of them get along well? looks like they're already cosying up to each other :)

When this weekend hits, then I'll get really excited! Well even more than now, since I'm already really ready to go on vacation!

It was now getting close to 11:30 after we got off Toad’s Wild Ride and we were getting a little hungry. I’ve never been to the Bengal BBQ over in Adventureland and since this was a trip of “Discovering New Things”, I asked if it would be okay if we checked it out. It ended up being just me, DH and mom.

There was a bit of a wait but we ended up ordering the:
-Banyan Skewer - Hot and spicy
-Bengal Skewer - in a sweet zulu sauce
-Outback Vegetable Skewer – Skewered fresh vegetables
-Tiger Tail Breadsticks
-Jalapeno cheese filled pretzel (this was DH’s request )

They were all very good! Especially the Banyan and the Vegetable! The Banyan was surprisingly spicy it caught me off guard and I started choking a bit. And the vegetable skewer had a nice assortment of veggies! Squash, Zucchini, Onion, Mushroom, and Red Onion. Very Tasty!

After our small lunch, we headed over to the newly updated Star Tours ride. We used our Fast Passes that we got earlier that morning and didn’t have much time to check out the new video in the queue or hear what the new robots were saying.

Waiting to board

Let me say this: WE LOVED IT! Well, mom thought it was okay but that’s because she loved the old version. She doesn’t like wearing glasses and she thinks 3D is too high tech for her :lmao: . But DH and I thought it was great! We couldn’t wait to ride it again and knew we would ride it a few more times before our trip was over.

We were supposed to meet back up with the rest of the gang at the Corn Dog Cart after Star Tours, which we did. Dh and I weren’t too hungry, but mom was. So she stayed with them and ate a corn dog while Dh and I went to get some ice cream. I had been reading about this fabulous peppermint ice cream that is sold during the holidays and I adore peppermint ice cream so we went to the Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor. I tried to take a picture of it, but my phone wasn’t cooperating. It was DELICIOUS! It even had bits of peppermint in it! Yum. Since we were so close to the bakery, I knew I needed to grab a Pumpkin Muffin. And there were only about 5 people in line. It’s never like that so I got right in line and ordered one. I wanted to go look at some of the Christmas decorations they were selling in one of the shops so DH and I did that and I saw the cutest Christmas houses! I need to take a picture of them when I go home. They’re made by Department 56 so they were a bit expensive, but they’re so nice! Then I saw this, DisneyBarbie and it made me think of you!

5c7f413d.jpg

It was so cute!

We met back up with the gang and decided to head over to the Hearthstone Lounge back at the Grand Californian for a drink. But I really wanted to see World of Color tonight, since the forecast called for rain the next day and I didn’t want to chance it. The 7 of us went over and grabbed FP’s for the showing at 9:15 that night and we got the Blue section. I was surprised there were still FP’s left for WoC considering it was a holiday weekend. Since the FP’s for WoC are right by the entrance to the hotel, it was a very short walk to the lounge.

^this is what I ordered and it was delicious.

The boys of the group ordered a round of shots to warm up since it was a little chilly.

Then I started to get hungry….AHA! The pumpkin muffin!

I ate the whole thing. It was entirely too good to stop eating halfway through.

We ended up staying there for quite a while, then I’m not sure how it happened but we all got split up again.

I think we were both typing at the same time so you probably didn't see this post, but i'll paste it...

"And in case anyone noticed, Bowler's right paw turns inward when he walks, runs and stands. My cousin told me that a couple of puppies on the last litter had this too, and that they grew out of it. I'm actually jealous of your tickers! As soon as you get home from vacation, you'll have another one to plan and then ANOTHER one! You are just like Alison! :lmao:

I have seen the Mr Toad in the Winnie the Pooh ride, I love details like that :goodvibes

Bowler is too cute!!! and great pick on the name too!

Wow all those different food choices sound great, we tried a jalapeno cheese pretzel at Animal Kingdom this year and it was sooooo good!!

We always dream of going to Disneyland one day, and we have watched the WoC on YouTube...I am sure it is a million times cooler in person but it is soooo cool even on video!

Bowler is really cute! He's gonna be a BIG dog!

The Bengal Barbeque is one of my favorites, but you didn't order my favorite, the Bacon-wrapped Asparagus!

I'm surprised too that WoC FP's for the first show were still available that late in the day.

Sounds like you're having a great trip so far!

OMG Bowler is SOOOO ADORABLE!!! You will love him! Our family dog was a boxer and he was the best dog ever. DH wants a dog one day (when we get a house) and I think our best bet is a boxer. My sister has one as well and she is so good with the new baby. That pretzel looks amazing!! I will have to try it! We just decided today we are extending our trip (yay!) so we will be in the park fri/sat/sun--I am not a fan of weekends at disney, but HEY I wont say no! :) We won the cruise though one of our local radio stations. They were doing a contest and if you got the most votes on your picture you got the cruise. I rallied so many votes and begged so many people and all that hard work definitely paid off! :)

You're totally right, we must have been writing at the same time. I'm glad most of the time they grow out of it, I was worried about his skeleton. He is so adorable!

I am so excited about my tickers! This way, when we get back after next weekend I'll have exactly 3 months to the next vacation, and then two months to the next one. I have overindulged myself, but then what's the point of working if you can't have fun! :rotfl:

Oh my, the pretzel was better than I expected! It was so good! I thought it was going to be stale and gross, but it could be our new favorite snack!

Oh man, the videos on Youtube don't do it justice. I was in awe when I was watching if for the first time on Youtube, but then when i actually got to see WoC in person, I about died. It was brilliant! The music is absolutely spectacular. I have it downloaded and listen to it often :cloud9:

Oh man, he's going to be HUGE, if we can keep him. Unfortunately, other boxer owners don't think this is going to be a good keep for us because of his leg and his history with the pup's mom and other siblings. We're taking him for a thorough check-up tomorrow so we'll see how it goes. :sad1:

The bacon wrapped one i'm trying next time for SURE! I was thinking about getting all of them but thought it would be too much for us. I wish I had gotten it now.

I really thought when we were walking into DCA that we were just going to have to find a spot to stand for the show, and I was super happy to find that there were fast passes available! Made my night for sure!

You're going to the park this weekend?! Hope you have a fantastic time! I was telling franandaj that we don't know if we'll be able to keep the dog. I was talking to a lot of boxer owners over on another thread and they're thinking that he'll cost way more for us in the long run. His mother died during birth which killed 2 of the 4 puppies and the day we went to pick Bowler up, they had to put the other puppy down because they had found a tumor and it spread. So i'm a little worried about getting to attached to it and find out we can't keep it because it could be an expensive dog in the long run. They were talking thousands of dollars!

That's awesome about the cruise! So you get the 7 night cruise, did they throw in any other prizes like an On Board Credit or dinner at Palo? Doesn't really matter anyway cause you're going on a FREE DISNEY CRUISE! :yay:

You're totally right, we must have been writing at the same time. I'm glad most of the time they grow out of it, I was worried about his skeleton. He is so adorable!

Well Pam, like I was telling everyone else, it seems there may be a problem with the puppy. A lot of other Boxer owners are telling me that he may not be as healthy as he appears. To make a long story short, the mother died during birth because of an infection which killed 2 of the 4 puppies. The same day we picked up our puppy, my cousin told me she had to put the other puppy down because it had a tumor which spread. We have an appointment with our Vet tomorrow afternoon to see what she says about it. The other Boxer owners were telling me, it could cost thousands of dollars to keep this little guy healthy. So we'll see what happens.

Exactly! That's what I tell my DH too. We work hard, so we need to indulge and relax or it's all for not!

I'm crossing my fingers he gets a good checkup from the vet. I'm sure you guys are already quite attached to him. :)

Great updates Lesha! I'm really enjoying hearing about Disneyland and seeing all your photos - New Orleans Square and the NMBC overlay on Haunted Mansion look amazing!

Love that Jack Skeleton is there for meet & greets - I'm impressed that he talks too :thumbsup2

Hehe I want one of those aprons! :santa: I watched on youtube recently the Guy Fieri tv special where he goes to Disneyland for the holidays with his family.. they make candy canes, a huge yule log & try that peppermint icecream mmmm

Also.. Bowler is too cute! When I was younger we used to have Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs, they look a little like boxers. How is your other dog with the new puppy? When we got a second dog, our older one seemed a bit suspicious of her for a while, then they were best friends :cutie:

Single digit dance until your cruise now! :woohoo:

Not only are we attached to him, but so is our other dog. Hopefully all will go well tomorrow. To be honest, i'm a little nervous. I was really hoping for an appointment today, to put my mind at ease, but there were no openings. I'll keep you informed!

Oh! CONGRATULATIONS on hitting 500 posts! :woohoo: You're well on your way to 1,000!

Oh my goodness I saw that episode too! I was hoping to buy one of the candy canes if I got there early enough, but I don't think they start it until the 1st of December, which, i'm out of luck on. Oh well. At least I got to try the amazing icecream :cloud9:

I had to google what that kind of dog was, only heard of them, never seen them, and they look so much like Boxers! The rhodesian's look a lot more sportier though and more in shape than a Boxer. Actually, Percy really likes him! They run around together and lay next to each other, but there's a bit of a problem with the Boxer and i'm worried about having to give him back. I'll find out tomorrow at the Vet and see what she suggests we do.

I remember that Holiday Guy episode. As soon as I saw it I realized we hadn't dined at Napa Rose in a long time. I called right after the episode and booked the Chef's Counter for the next week. We had the Holiday Goose and the Vintner's dinner came with a different dessert, so I HAD to order the donut & hot chocolate. OMG!!!!!!!!!! The chocolate was so rich and tasty! Can you say the Official drink of Flavortown? :rotfl2:

Have you ever tried Starbucks Chantico before they discontinued it?! It was a drinking chocolate that only sold in a 8 ounce cup..Holy moly, it was the thickest hot chocolate i've ever had. It was thick and luxurious and good! They even used to make a Signature Hot Chocolate that was also very yummy, but not as thick.

I made this not too long ago and it was excellent!

I am definitely not happy right now.

We took the puppy to the vet and he's saying we would probably need to have orthopedic surgery on him. :sad2:

I'm afraid we're going to have to give him back to my cousin. She's supposed to call me back and I'm dreading talking to her. I'm so nervous because i'm not sure how a return works for a dog. Not sure if we're supposed to get our full money back or partial, or if we're even allowed to take him back?? :sad2:
