Mexican Riviera Cruise with WONDERful Souvenir in the Works! 6/7 PTR Link!

Ugh, Red velvet is my favorite! Next would be chocolate..of course! And i'm definitely making pumpkin cheese cream cupcakes/muffins in the next few weeks. The Disney kind! :yay:

Btw Bonnie, I know you're getting back into working out (not hardcore like what you used to do) but are you at all interested in Pilates or using your own body weight to strength train? I found this AMAZING website called blogilates. She's out of San Francisco and all her videos are full length and free. It is tough stuff but really works in all the right areas. I've been using her stuff since last Thursday, and I'm actually excited to do her workouts. She has a lot of videos so you can change it up and not get bored. Check her out if you're ever looking for something new to try. :goodvibes

Hi! I would love to try some new workouts, but everything I do now has to be seriously modified. I still can't lift any weight overhead, I am even very careful still about moving my arms over my head during aerobics. Basically, now I use the Turbo Fire DVDs but with a ton of modifications...I actually don't do any punching at all. Instead I do very basic moves with my arms (advice from the physical therapist). I still do the PT resistance bands twice a week, to keep the smaller muscles strong (also advice from my PT). And, I do lower body exercises...squats, stationary lunges, plie squats, and standing leg lifts while holding onto a chair for balance. For abs, I do mostly standing ab work...and by the way, even with all these modifications, I'm still in good shape and can still see my abs. I had gone at the end of August for my annual physical and blood work, and all the numbers are still great. So, I guess what I have learned is that moderate exercise is best, and I don't have to feel like I am killing myself in order to be in shape and healthy. I only wish I had known that sooner...or at least accepted it! Unfortunately for me, I had to learn the hard way by getting hurt and having surgery. :headache:

Anyway, on a lighter note...those pumpkin cupcakes/muffins sound wonderful! I LOVE everything pumpkin! I love all those Fall spices...delicious! :thumbsup2

I'm glad you're still doing well in the exercise department. There are some good videos out there for standing abs workouts, I was quite surprised.

If you ever want the recipe, just let me know! :goodvibes P.S. only a couple more days for you! :yay:

:lmao: Exactly! It's actually pretty funny when people are over and they hear me calling for the cat, who usually hangs out in our backyard.

Do you ever call him by his full full name Abraham De Lacy Guiseppe Casey Thomas O'Malley The Alley Cat? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

:rotfl:HOLY MOLY! That is ridiculously hilarious! Could you imagine hearing me yell that name?! Now I need to memorize this so I can show it off next time! :lmao:Thanks!

When I was a kid this movie came out in theaters (dating myself :rotfl:). Me and my friend sang that song over and over and over and over much to our parents chagrin! :lmao: But I had to google it to get the correct spelling of Guiseppe Casey! :rotfl2:

Honestly, when I first heard the song years ago, I thought he was just talking rubbish and making up stuff :lmao: I can't wait for Dan to get home so I can tell him! I'll also tell him, he can thank YOU for putting the idea in my head when I say the cats name next time :thumbsup2:rotfl2:

Gina - So I made those cupcakes last night...they're fantastic! Very fudgy and wonderful! If you do decide to bake them, I actually skipped one of the steps because as I read through the comments, a lot of peoples cupcakes were caving in. And I figured it might have been due to freezing the brownie dough. So I did NOT freeze and they turned out perfectly! Also, make sure to press the brownie dough into the cupcake mix or they'll kind of pop out.

This is the frosting I used. It was perfect cus it only called for 2 sticks of butter versus the 5 1/2 sticks

They look so good. Thanks for the tip. I will def. do that when I make them. So glad for the other frosting recipe because that 5 sticks of butter is ridiculous. I can't wait to make these now. Hopefully I can do it soon before I start on the cookies for the holidays.

Let me know how they turn out for you! There ended up being exactly 36 cupcakes (just like the recipe stated). Now i'm sitting here, getting ready to do Pilates and thinking, "What the heck am I going to do with all of these?!" I already gave away 8 of them...Too bad I can't ship these babies to you. :lmao:

So what did Dan say when you called the cat?

:rotfl2: Okay, so I was like:

"Dan, today Alison informed me that Thomas O'Malley the Alley Cat, is NOT his full name."

"Um, okay what is it?"

"Abraham Delacy, Giuseppe Casey, Thomas O'Malley the Alley Cat."

"There is NO way that's his full name!"

"I swear, watch this Youtube video and listen!"

.......

Dan - "OH NO! :lmao: You know we're going to have to memorize this and call him this now right?!? :rotfl:"

So he LOVES the full name! Thanks Alison! :rotfl2:

I will def. tell you have they come out when I make them. I wish you could ship them to me too. I don't know if I would be able to not eat them even if I was trying to watch what I eat...haha They say though after you exercise you should eat because it will digest faster and your metabolism works fast after.

:rotfl2: Just listen to that YouTube video a few more times and you'll have it down pat!

Oh I only had to watch the video twice. I'm really good at memorizing songs :thumbsup2

This is true. But I don't think you're supposed to each brownie chocolate cupcakes with a chocolate buttercream frosting :rotfl: I'm getting ready to make dinner right now actually. I found this book called, "The Healthiest Meals on Earth" and i'm making..get ready for it...black bean cakes. Blah:sad2: I'm pairing it with something that sounds way tastier, Confetti Basmati Rice, and a salad. Wish me luck!

Sounds delicious!! :thumbsup2 That one cupcake should equal that whole dinner or maybe a half a brownie cupcake...haha. How are the meals in that book though? I really should start eating better. I have about 15 more pounds to lose to get to my pre-pregnancy weight.

I just found the video and watched it, so cute! We watched that movie last year when we were out of our house for the termite tenting. We didn't have TV service in the house we stayed in so we brought movies. Such a cute and romantic movie!

:rotfl2: Sorry I can't stand black beans. I've tried, but they just don't taste good to me!

I just got the book last week, and so far, there are lots of great recipes in there. Lots of foods that we already buy, so it's not too expensive. The recipes are packed with nutrients plus flavor. For instance, i'm making a Confetti Basmati rice that has the brown basmati rice, pumpkin seeds (rich source of minerals), red and yellow peppers (Vitamins A and C), green onion, cilantro (or parsley), and fresh lime juice. He also explains what you're getting out of each meal that you're cooking. It's pretty good!

LOL! I actually love all beans. Yeah, this sounded very, um, interesting. But i'm determined to give it a go. And if I hate it, it's not a waste of money. I got the black beans in the bulk section (of Winco of course :thumbsup2) for a buck a pound. And the rest is water, some chicken broth, some garlic, and cilantro.

Are you on that thread?? I just go check it out! :yay:
