Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - Part II

Ok found an article on it POOP, thats no fun!

Oh well Chad and i will hit it when we go in Sept before it closes!
Guess I now need to rework our schedule and plan a night out for us. Ill put jack at one of the kids clubs.

I've been feeling out of whack the past few days, not sure what's going on with me. Very depressed and not sure why.:confused3

The summer flew by, I can't believe Kyle starts college in a few weeks!

 I am so there with you on that....just been reluctant to say it. :sad2: Having anxiety (feels like hot water coursing through under my arms and through my chest). maybe it's the weather? possibly high bills and lack of money for me....hang in there and we'll ride it out together. :flower3:

We like hitting the Back Porch for in the evening and sitting well.. on the back porch LOL. You can see the dolphins swimming out in the water.

Kathy I hear ya on Kyle. Jack starts school in a few two weeks and I am NOT NOT NOT happy.
If they cut out lunch, recess, nap and snack time then he could be home by noon LOL, i dont see the point of being gone from Mommy 7 hrs a day ; )
Im pretty sad.
I agree with the exercise idea, i always feel perkier when if worked my butt off for an hour or so!

Here is a pic from our girls night out with the "birthday fairy"

Kristina... I LOVE the plate!

thanks - turned out nicer than we envisioned! I am DYING to go on vacation. somewhere. anywhere. someone to cook for me and no yucky stuff to deal with. but businesses just didn't bring it in for us this month... sigh. :headache: DH is frustrated because why keep them and work so hard if they are just breaking even? :confused3 just gotta hang in there and pray it starts looking up. I just have no idea where in the world we would live if we didn't live here!

Wanna meet for a cocktail at Pleasure Island? That always cheers me up.:cutie:

Well ladies, we cashed in Holiday Inn points and free flights and every other reward thing I could manage and we're headed to WDW tomorrow for a long weekend. We'll be back in Nola on Sunday. This is our farewell to Pleasure Island trip.:sad1:

It's costing us the rental car and food/cocktails(although I have a Landry's gift card from MyPoints). Everything else is covered.

I'm excited to be going but sad that they're closing one of our favorite places.

OH TAKE ME WITH YOU!!!!! ME :yay: :yay: ME :yay: ME :yay:

how does that work and do you have to be in that hotel to use the kids club?

and as for PI, does this mean the east and west sides of DTD will be open but the middle will be dead?

Its been a long long summer for us too! With my oldest living here and gas prices its been killing us. Thank goodness I paid the summer membership at the pool for us ages ago or it would have been even worse!
Usually by now we would have been to Destin and the Inlaws and a few quick weekends here and there. We are lucky we hit the river several times on the boat. Im just glad we have Disney to look forward to, I put a big deposit on it last fall and slowly paid on it every month.
Brad just moved back to Slidell to start school again and gas prices are dropping a bit here so things are kinda :confused3 looking up. No more big electricity bill with Brad gone and the grocery bill will drop tremendously. WOO HOO! He also bought a 'crotch rocket" which doesnt help my nerves, but will drop his gas bill LOL!

You dont have to be in the hotel.. we are staying at All star Music , but you can use any kids club. Im thinking we will use the Poly.

It looks like just Pleasure Island will close.. which is off to one side of DTD if I remember correctly . We have never gone, and didnt plan on it this trip, but will go since its closing.

Jenny, I'd be worried about Brad on his bike too and I really like cycles. But with the traffic these days & people just don't pay attention to bikes! :scared:

I was annoyed with enrolling Alexis full time last year. After lunch was a big waste of time, they played & napped. She'll be in kindergarten this year, so we have no choice but full day. I do have to say, I adjusted to the free time pretty quickly!

Our electricity bill was unfreakinbelievable! I've been trying really hard to save too, but that apparently didn't help much.

Lori, Have fun saying goodbye to PI & all your friends!

Kathy I hope you start feeling better soon.

Thanks Tricia.

Kathy, Sorry you're feeling down. Exercise should help with that, try hard to keep it up!

I agree with the exercise idea, i always feel perkier when if worked my butt off for an hour or so!

I came very close to skipping the gym today but I didn't, it's true I feel much better after a workout but still sad.:confused3 I am really surprising myself how I'm sticking to this exercise schedule.

Jenny - Love the pics, I can't believe how big Jack is!:goodvibes

That sure sounds good!;)

 To you sweetie; I have been there as well.

 I am so there with you on that....just been reluctant to say it. :sad2:

I hadn't really thought about it much until today, but maybe it's the fact that we're almost at the 3 year mark since you know what changed our lives forever.

Kathy and Kristina- I am there with you, not just due to my friend, but our jobs, etc... Ugghhhh. I have had anxiety moments, and depressed moments-but I think it all stems from PTSD from not so long ago, but also forever ago. I think it is also the HOT weather.

I try daily to NOT spend money-it is a goal of mine here lately-but more seems to go out than ever right now! yesterday was out of my hands, today was co-op classes.

Jenny, I remember feeling this when Ashton headed off to kindergarten- you will be okay-, esp when you are helping out at school and having some time to yourself to get things done. But I may not be the one to give you comfort, b/c I took them back home:rotfl: !!! I must say though, that ONE downfall to homeschooling is lack of time to yourself-there is very little-I am thankful for a good DH who "sees" when I need time and takes things on so i can get it!

They're supposed to be adding more "leased out" restaurants and shops.:confused3 That's all they need...more dining that doesn't take the dining plan(so won't help clear out park dining any) and shopping. Doesn't Disney have enough of my money already?!?:rotfl:

And anyone's more than welcome to come stay-we have a suite ofsite. But you gotta get yourself there!;)

:rotfl2:

Hey ya'll:)

Kathy, I hope you snap out of it. I kinda get like that at the end of the summer too. It always goes by too fast:hug:

Jenny, Jack is adorable. You look beautiful in your picture.

Did ya'll open your Entergy bills yet:scared1: I'm glad I was sitting down when I opened it. The fuel adjustment charge was more than the actual bill.

Cajunmommy, Bayside Grill in Orange Beach is very nice. You are right on the water and there's a guy singing Jimmy Buffet songs. At least there was about 3 years ago when we went. I hope you have a great trip.

Disney must have tons of money, I know they get most of our's! ;)

Be careful what you offer, we ALL might take you up on that!!!

Well Disney used to get most of our's anyway, that was before fuel prices skyrocketed! That Entergy bill really knocked of my feet!

Kathy, I started taking Lexapro about a week ago, & I actually think this one is helping. I've tried a couple of anti-depressants, the ones that didn't make me dizzy didn't help either. But I think this one might be helping. Have you talked to your dr. about it? I might also be feeling better because I've been swimming almost everyday & getting out in the sun. As I mentioned I've noticed the exercise helps but getting a little sunshine seems to help me too.

Thanks Tricia.

Jenny - Jack is such a cutie!!! how old is he? :goodvibes

TigerKat (sorry forgot your real name again!) I hadn't thought about that...I usually freak out from 6/1 through about the end of October. I was in denial about Dolly because I just can't fathom having to pack all of this again....and do it all again. so I am just blissfully  ignoring the weather. although every day the clouds seem so dark and foreboding. it has "monsooned" every day for like the past week. really scary high winds...etc. and it floods just with the little bit of rain...I *know* we will be "ok" if IT were to happen again...but I don't know. I have had so much trouble being able to enjoy all my stuff because I was SO attached to my old stuff (first real house, adult furniture etc) that it was so hard to lose it. and if there is a next time dh will NOT come back. that uncertainty is scarier still. :guilty:

I too am taking Lexapro; I have been on it sice March and I think it has also helped with my depression. I literally fell to pieces while talking to my doctor about how I was feeling; poor thing had to console me for a good 10 minutes. :rotfl:

I keep reading that Depression is at epedemic levels down here. I too suffer from depression and because of my thyroid condition I am not taking anything right now. Hopefully, soon I can get back on Lexapro. The only thing I don't like about anti depressants is that sometimes, when I feel like I need to, I can't cry.

Tomorrow is my 4th Wedding Anniversary.:lovestruc My husband and I are more in love than ever. Heck I think we are still in the Honeymoon phase! :cloud9: :rotfl: Friday night he is taking me to the Melting Pot, and I am so excited!!! I love that place, we went once last year and had so much fun! It will be so nice to go out and have a cocktail and eat a long meal....with no kids! :dance3: No feeding anyone, no "I need to go potty", no Hot Wheels at the table! :lmao:

I used to be on Lexapro but quit taking it. couldn't find anything to really work that didn't totally zombie me out and make me fall asleep more than I do now...

I am so anxious lately it is physical. guess it could be depression but there are no real thoughts that are running through my head. I have so much trouble taking meds on a daily basis....maybe i should call the doc again.

DH has thyroid issues - I didn't realize how important the thyroid is in regulating so much in your body. he takes mental health meds too. it is a tricky thing to get them all in sync.

Happy anniversary to you! may you ever keep that honeymoon phase feeling!
Happy Anniversary to you!

Ladies look at Disney's Princess and the Frog trailer which is set here in N.O.:

http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/princessandthefrog/
