Morning everyone -

Well it seems like we will be rain free today!

Terry we went to our local Hallmark store and just happened to stumble into the Webkinz craze. We left out of there with four new friends.

The Communion on Saturday went great. The church was packed but thankfully we got a seat since Colin had to be there an hour early. Our parish is so big that we had three different Communion masses. The BBQ was also a big hit. It didn't start raining until Mark had finished grilling so that worked out well. Colin racked up in the money department but his favorite gift was a medal my mom gave him of a baseball player on the front and a St. Christopher on the back. Kathy I thought of Kyle when I saw it. Funny how our DIS friends pop in our heads at certain times. Colin is very proud of the medal and said now St. Christopher will now protect him during all his games.

Glad to hear I was not the only one who got more friends than we needed.

I am so glad the Communion worked out for you guys. It is such a touching experience for everyone involved. I remember tearing up when I watched Alysia receive communion and drink the wine..."My Baby" What did you give away as party gifts?

Lori, I joined Sunshine rewards but am confused on how to get points. It always seems to guide me through too many pages of ads trhat i do not want. It confuses me. Another Dis'er intro'ed me to it to save $$ for our cruise and WDW!! What am I doing wrong? Or is it supposed ot be like that and I am impatient.

The hospital over here is sadly really busy this past week!

If you do the free offers all they really need is the info page (name addy email) filled out. I usually do that ans skip over a page or 2 and close out of it and still get paid most of the time. Also I do the daily survey and the AMP survey everyday. That alone is $1.70ish once they credit. Some surveys are shorter than others. I never get in early enough to do a scratch off-except on weekends(that's under earn daily).

I just talked Rick into booking all of his work travel through there (Budget cars and Holiday Inn). Once the reservation is complete you get a percentage back- and I know Budget credits cause I made him try it before.

Any specific questions PM me. I'll be glad to tell you what I've learned. I haven't done alot of shopping(cash back) but I'm moving in that direction.

I'm over $20 in about a week of working it.

It is quiet here today. I am pooped. I worked a little over 18 hours on Sat and Sun and on Friday I was at work from 8am till 7pm. My bank account will be happy but it was 3 long days.

Hey everyone, kind of quiet around here. I am so excited, I am putting the deposit on my trip this week. It will feel so real when that happens!

I made a huge tiered cake for my cousin's 6th birthday. My mom has my camera so I won't be able to post the picture until this weekend. The top tier was Minnie Mouse's face(I had to reshape a teddy bear's face because they don't make Minnie and Mickey anymore!). It was strawberry cake because that was what she wanted.
The bottom tier was a double layer 12' round. Almond cake with Strawberry filling and white chocolate butter cream. It was so good. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but this cake was really pretty and it tasted great. People were raving about it and couldn't believe that I made it(I guess as opposed to a bakery).

I am really worried about Aiden. He will be 2 in a month and a week. He is just not a happy baby. He is just almost always in a bad temper. he has a history of Reflux, so I am going to request if we can see a specialist. I hoping he has reflux again because I would hate to think my sweet looking baby is just mean!

I hope you find out what's wrong with Aiden. I'm sure something must be bothering him. Could it just be that he's cutting teeth?

No big problems over here. DH is having a meeting with a JP agency to see if he can qualify for any assistance to get a personal care aide. I know he hates to even think about this, much less deal with these agencies. But it's really just getting too hard for me to handle every day.

It sure is gorgeous outside. Why couldn't the weekend be like this?
The school is planning on having the fair Sat & Sun. Looks like the rain could be back again for the weekend.

Sheryl-How's Bob doing overall? My uncle just went to a cane with his MS and hates it. I was telling him about meeting Bob last year and how great he got around. (Maybe convince him to buck up and deal rather than lament!)
Tell him I said hi.

I can't wait to get home on Friday! We've been gone almost 2 weeks (will be 2 when I finally get home) and I'm tired of it! One more night here in NY, Wed Night in Ohio, Thursday night in Detroit, then home!

And, just a reminder, ya'll pull out those hats- Kentucky Derby is Saturday!

Lori, He's doing okay. He seems to be losing some mobility in his arms lately. Having a bit more trouble lifting glasses n such. I've been having trouble with my back & neck a lot lately, & that is making it tough for both of us.

You must be really tired of being on the road! Glad you mentioned the Derby, my mint has really taken off & I was just wondering what I was going to use it for! Unfortunately when I bought my herbs I grabbed one spearmint (what I wanted) & one peppermint. I have no clue what to do with the peppermint.

Thanks ladies. Lunch was nice. We went to Cochon, a Cajun restaurant in the warehouse district on Tchoupitoulas. Boy was there some strange options on the menu. I stuck with the safe stuff: crawfish pie, baked red fish, eggplant and shrimp.

I have to share my good news. My Dr.'s nurse just called to tell me my Bad Cholesterol level went down 15 points and my overall cholesterol went down 17 points. She told me to keep up the good work with the low cholesterol dieting and exercising. I have to retest in 2 weeks. I am so excited.

Not sure if the dentist fixed my problem or not. It was a tooth he had filled a couple of months ago and he saw a spot that was left unfilled (his mistake). He THINKS this may have been causing the pain but he warned me that the pain may get worse which would mean a root canal would be required. So I'm praying that will not happen especially since we may be going out of town next week if Shaw makes it to state finals. He did give me pain meds in case it starts to get worse.

I am so glad you mentioned that. DH went to Kentucky and visited the grounds and bought mint julep syrup from there and as I was cleaning my pantry, i cam e across it-never used, about 2 years old. I am gonna get the stuff that goes with it and try it out!! DD8 will love to see the Derby on TV. Thank you!!!

You must be really tired of being on the road! Glad you mentioned the Derby, my mint has really taken off & I was just wondering what I was going to use it for! Unfortunately when I bought my herbs I grabbed one spearmint (what I wanted) & one peppermint. I have no clue what to do with the peppermint.

Okay, I went back to catch up, but I can give you some peppermint ideas. I use lots of peppermint oil and think it can work for you the same, or close to.

If you have a headache, peppermint on a warm rag is fabulous. Sometimes i can rid of a headache just with the peppermint. You just lay downa nd out it over your forehead and partially over your eyes-sinuses. I ALWAYS use this on the kids before giving them tylenol and 99% of the time, it cures thier headache. I bet if you heat up a leaf in some water, the oil will come out in it. Itis VERY strong in essential oil form so 1 -2 drops is more than enough-it can burn your eyes if you put THAT spot directly over your eyes-even if they are closed. I also put it in bath water when our sinuses are acting up, or for a sinus headache.

You could even just put it in asmall pot or burner and let the hot water give off the peppermint aroma-yum.

I have no cooking ideas other than if you knew how to make candy with it at Christmas!!

The Delgado baseball coach approached Johnny at the Shaw play-off game today and said he wants to meet with us as soon as our playoff season is over, he REALLY wants Kyle for his program. Their baseball program is excellent and he'll be staying home, ya know Mom is happy about that.

I went to Delgadoo for my pre-req's and after hating UNO for a few semesters. I LOVED Delgado much more than UNO.
Also, my sister dated a really nice guy that played for Delgado a few years back.

I love even more thier name-Delgado Dolphins!!!
