Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - Part II

Morning NOLA!

Love the pic Tricia!! Were the parks crowded? Where did you guys eat and how was it?????

The parks were a bit crowded. More crowded than in years past that we went for Mardi Gras. I guess it was because of the dance team comp. that were going on at the same time. As for eating we didn't do the Dining Plan this trip and only had two table service meals. The first was in Down Town Disney at Rain Forest Cafe (a favorite of my kids) and the second was breakfast at the Crystal Palace. Both were very good. We sort of just ate when we were hungry at whatever place was nearby.

Tricia - I love the picture. What a great idea to hand out beads.

I was in town for all of Mardi Gras. My condo is on St. Charles, but I found it much less crowded to go over to Napoleon to watch the parades.

It was even more family oriented and the police were just great about letting you go right up to the floats. We only had to get back on the curb when the big bands were coming thru. It is so fun to watch the krewe members reach down and get something special to hand to a child.

I had to make a quick trip to Dallas (to help take care of a sick friend with breast cancer) and flew back the Friday before MG. I planned to arrive at 1pm so I wouldn't have any trouble getting home.

Somewhere in Dallas I lost my car keys so I had to have my car towed to the Honda dealership (from the parking lot across from the airport) and pay a fortune to have new keys made. So I ended up driving home at 5:30 pm. Lots of traffic - but boy was I glad to have a parking place!

I missed MG last year because I was sick. It did seem that some of the crowds were not as dense on the weekend as 2 years ago - but I think that was because of Endymion being in Uptown that year.

Tricia II

Morning Y'all,

Tricia, Love the Pic!! Y'all were too cute! :thumbsup2

TriciaII, Sorry about your car troubles! That stinks! Glad you got it all worked out in the end & came home safe!

Kathy, How are things with stalker chick?

I've picked up another stomach bug, started Saturday Night. Sick all day yesterday. I had to miss SIL's crab boil yesterday. And even worse I haven't finished the wash or made any headway on the packing. I'm trying some chicken broth & crackers for breakfast, so we'll see if I'm getting over it. DH has had a lot of people at work, out sick with it, so I guess he didn't catch it, but brought it home to me.

Have a good day!

Kyle didn't say much about her yesterday. I'm just concerned that he may be feeling sorry for her, he's sensitive that way.:sad2:

Kathy & Terry, I see there are lane closures on Terry Pkwy. today. between Carol Sue & Guardian. But y'all probably knew that already.

Kathy, I know you must be worried about him. Hopefully he'll be smarter but prepare yourself for the possibility of him taking her back. I know my DD did it. After we'd hear enough to despise the kid, then she'd decide she still liked him! :confused3

Those lane closures are going to be through December  , that's what I heard on the news this morning.

I've been preparing myself for the fact that he might take her back. I won't be happy about it, but it's not my call. It's going to be so hard for me to watch because I know it's only going to be a matter of time before she hurts him again. I'm just praying that he does the right thing.:sad1:

Hey ya'll- I'm really having a rotten day. Big ol' vent ahead-

The NOPD called DH (after not calling for a month now  ) and said they were closing the hit-and-run case due to "insufficient information". Even with a name and license plate number. :furious: What, do they need a blood and urine sample too? The officer said even with the info we gave them, that they can't find any info on the guy or do anything. That is complete bull because I found a ton of info on the guy (including with his many convictions) by just looking in the St Bernard Clerk of Court records online, which is public record. Heck, we even got a cell phone number on him, which we offered to the police and they turned down because they said that was useless.

DH then asked the officer if our daughter had been in the car and had been killed in the accident, this guy would just go free? The officer became angry when DH asked him that and said we didn't have enough on him and there was nothing else we could do, case closed. Grrrrrrr..... it makes me furious that this guy broke the law, injured DH, cost us a running bill of $12,000 so far (costing me a Disney trip!), and this guy is just going to go completely free. Makes me want to just throw up.

Sorry, I just had to vent. :sad2: :sad1:

Don't be sorry Lorie, I'd be furious too! That is unbelievable, it's clear to me that they just don't want to deal with this.:sad2:

Lorie, I am so sorry! And ticked off! What info are they lacking? What were they doing, hoping he'd show up at the NOPD to turn himself in! Makes me really mad too!..

Thanks

I don't even know what other info we could give him... What else is there? The only logical sense is that they just don't want to deal with it....

After DH got off of the phone with the officer, he went upstairs and beat a computer desk we were getting rid of into smithereens with a sledgehammer.

He feels better now. :rotfl2:

Kathy- I hope everything works out with Kyle. I hope he doesn't take that girl back. It sounds like she has issues and a bit of growing up to do.

Tricia- Glad you had a good time and thanks for the pic!

Sheryl- Hope you feel better soon!

Good for him, now you need to take out your frustrations on something.;)

Abi's really pulling out the big guns. She keeps telling him that no one knows him the way she does and she keeps reminding him of all the "little things" that couples do, you know little signals that only each one knows. She is very immature but she's obviously experienced at this.:headache:

Wow, it sure does sound like she's experienced at this. She just realized the good thing she had was gone and is looking like a fool trying to get him back. She should have a little dignity and chalk it up as a life lesson learned and move on!

She's not going to give up, I know her too well. I just pray that Kyle uses his brain because I don't think I could ever have her in my house again. I sound terrible saying that, don't I.:sad2:
