Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 03/2009

Tricia - :sad1::hug: so sorry
lori - "affected" - I like to say that's an understatement. I always start with "well, we had 4 feet of water....in my room...on the second floor." That shuts them up real quick! :thumbsup2

I'm off, ladies! :dance3::cheer2::dance3::cheer2::dance3:

Lori - I don't think I realized that you were in the Covington area. For some reason I thought you were closer to Baton Rouge :confused3

Sheryl, I'm so glad that A is doing good in her recovery. Cute little pink notebook, how sweet :love:

Kathy - Oct 3 looks good for me.

Mary - have a great trip:dance3:

Gee, I resemble that remark;)

Have a great trip!

Its late, I feel like I'm missing something here. Off to bed - see ya'll tomorrow!

!

I have been in Covington for over 10 years and before that my dad grew up here, moved to River Ridge when he married my mom. A few years after they divorced he moved back over here(1994). My dad went to St Peters then he went to be a Brother at Christian Brothers for high school.

We love it here and hate to leave.:sad2:

Lori

Kat, you asked about dining. We have Chefs de France, California Grill and Yak & Yeti booked.

Yummo!

Tricia- too bad we couldn't get together in Disney. I am SO sorry for your friends health , so sorry:hug:. But I do beleive in miracles, I really do. I do not beleive in statistics, for the most part. Just pray and keep your chin up. Help her keep her chin up and her hubby's- should that time come that you just know-well face it THEN and not a moment sooner, accept it and know there is a better place than on this earth. But in the meantime, after everyone is past the official shock-b/c it IS horrific- love the life she has NOW! I hope this does not offend or make you want to slap me(there were some people I wanted to slap after Ashton was dx'd for thier "happy" comments, but later on, I remembered some and realized that some things said were true, some WERE dumb and they should've been slapped, and some were thoughtful and meant a lot- I mean, MY world stopped for God's sake, why shouldn't everyone elses that I know). Again, I HATE cancer, it sucks a big you know what! I am so sorry to hear this about your close friend.

Lori - That was very well said.:hug:

Just a heads up......I'll be starting a new thread for us this weekend!!!!

We have 5 so far for lunch on 10/3!

Sheryl - How is that day for you? Any ideas on where to go?

Hey Y'all,

Sorry I didn't check in yesterday. Just busy.

Tricia, I am so sorry to hear about your dear friend! I'll be praying for her & you! :hug:Hugs & prayers friend.:flower3:

Kat, As far as I can tell that's good for me. A couple of ideas, Gattuso's, Da Wabbit (are they open for lunch on Sat.?) there's always Parrot Pete's or Alligator Pear. Although we were very frustrated with Al. Pear's service last time we were there. I'll think about it!

Mary, Have FUN!!! :yay::banana::cool1::wizard:

Mary - Wishing you a wonderful, romantic, magical anniversary trip!!!!

Sheryl - I just remembered, isn't 10/3 the Gretna Fest weekend? Will that affect our plans?

Where the heck have you been?????? Missed you, stick around!!!!!:hug:

Sorry I've been absent. It has been a very hectic summer. And unfortunately, I have become severely addicted to the games on Facebook. I spend WAY too much time there. :rotfl:

I'm trying to ease back a little so hopefully I'll be here more often.

Jan, It's good to have you around again!:goodvibes

Kathy, We are talking about lunchtime right? I can do lunch. We are planning on heading to the G.Fest for Sat for CHICAGO!! :cool1:& Sunday for the Guess Who!

Great we can meet up there too!

I need to go investigate this Gretna Fest you speak of.

Just go to gretnafest.com You can't beat it! Entry is 10 bucks a day & I have to go just to get Prejean's Gumbo every year (and the German beer;). Not to mention really great well known bands plus great Nola music like the amazing Allen Toussaint! It's our favorite local fest, the parking doesn't cost anything, the crowds have been getting big, but still not Jazzfest big.

I'm going to have to look into this. I have not seen anything about it. Only signs for some "Olph Festival" with some band called Cheez Whiz or something. :confused3

Oh I just asked my DH about it. He says he's heard of it and maybe we will go.

Goodnight everybody. :grouphug:

Bethany:lmao:- OLPH-Our lady of Perpetual Help church and Chee Weez- they are a really good band around here! Sorry, I found that kinda cute!

Sounds like some good bands at that fest- but are the original guys in it- I cannot imagine, "Hard to say I'm Sorry" by any other guy but Peter Cetera in Chicago! At least, I THINK that is the guys name!:laughing: But I loved that song in my younger days!

Lori

Lori,

I don't think Peter Cetera is still performing with them. I'll ask Dh the music/comp/geek guru!
I would not worry one bit about making the trek over here if you like them. We saw them last year? or year before with Earth, Wind & Fire!! THE BEST CONCERT I have been to EVER!!!! Honestly, I am not kidding. Chicago played alone, then EWT played, then they came together on the most amazing sounds I've heard in my lifetime! (Check into it, pm or call me about. )

Bethany, Ditto! Look into it, the best fest on the Westback for sure!
