Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 03/2009

here is our dept... this is it, nothing else. We do 10-16 studies a day average(mostly bedside, about 25% outpatient who come to this room), and all stress tests are done here. If you are familiar with it I would appreciate you not saying the name of the place...

My /our embarrassment could cause me job issues, I guess!

Oh and here is a stuffed tomato I got the recipe off the DSlite cooking game... it was yummy!

Just wanted to say "Hi"! We'll be down your way in just 24 days!! My second favorite place to go after WDW! We will celebrate DH's Birthday at K Paul's. Can't wait for the food, the music and just kicking back.

Have a great trip!!!! The weather should be very nice.:thumbsup2

Your department is smaller than my classroom. :sad2:

Who would have thought you could get recipes from a video game? :confused3

Hey NOLA! I don't have much time today and didn't read back so I am jumping in.

Lorie, if it makes you feel any better, the doctor told my mother I had a difficult personality at 3 too, and my teen years were a breeze... (the easiest of the four of us, according to my mother) Three shall soon pass, and you will actually miss it, but it doesn't make you feel any better about it at the time, I know. Just hang in there...

Lori, sorry that things are so rough at work

Jen, pesky nerves: I remember that itching... I put some lotion on them and it helped a little bit.

I would love to do the DDP one day, but right now, I can't see it. My boys are well... cavemen, at times... there is just no way I think I would enjoy that many sit down meals with strangers yet...

This coming week is the week I have been dreading for that last 10 years! Logan has to take the LEAP test. I am trying not to let him see me panic, and I have been assured by his teachers that he will do just fine, but he has to write and he has the WORST handwriting ever. So I am more worried that the graders won't be able to read his answers. And then of course there is the waiting for the results, that won't come until the end of May. I know I am not the first mother to freak over this and I won't be the last.

AND TO TOP THAT.... DH is going out of town. To a lovely resort, and a quiet peaceful room all by himself... granted it is for work (lucky) and he really doesn't want to go (so he tells me, but I don't buy it), and I gave him "permission" to go (like I have a choice? It is for work) but of all the weeks this quarter, it has to be during LEAP week? And for those who don't already know, LEAP this year is Wed, Thurs, Fri, and NEXT Mon, Tues... DH is leaving Wed morning. Am I a terrible wife if I am soooo jealous:confused3 And about now, I wish I would have "rethunk" my stance on private schools.

Rant over, and I am feeling a little better: whew... Thanks.

I hope that everyone has a great week, and enjoys the lovely weather we are having... I just looked at this weeks weather:sad2: more storms coming. Spring is here at least...

Bethany, yes it is definitely smaller than a classroom.
I get beat up at work(bruises on my legs) from climbing over things to get to other necessary things.

portocall- I am also NOT a fan of leap. Too much pressure on the kids all year for one stinky test. Some kids test well and some don't, but do great in class... it just makes me upset. It is also on the 100 top reason we decided to homeschool. BUT, on a good note, you will get a possible gage of how well he is doing and if you use it just for that, try to let the rest go. But we must all test at some point, right? We do Stanford but we do not prepare them other than a possible Spectrum book a month ahead(which is nothing like SAT) for them to know how to fill out the bubbles correctly and minimal practice(they do it for fun, not school work). I hope and pray you son enjoys it. Ashton happens to LOVE testing. She looks forward to it every year. Haley has only tested once... so we'll see. Last year she "got everything right" according to HER:rotfl:. Not so.....

Lori

Good afternoon NOLA.

What a beautiful day today is. Mark and I planted all my gardens took a break for lunch then went back and mulched them all. I'm so glad it's over and it looks so good. Now I could use a little something with rum in it.

How did Kendall do yesterday?

How did Kendall's tryouts go ?

Good luck to Kendall, let us know how it goes!:cheer2:

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Kendall made the team again. They had 45 girls trying out and they took 16. I'm so glad it's over but I'm sure not as glad as the girls were. Their little nerves were shot.
Good luck and prayers for Kendall!!! Rie tries out tomorrow and I'm a wreck. She's been a competition cheerleader for 5 years and is really good. The problem is it takes her awhile to learn the routine. Tomorrow, they learn the cheer, have a couple of hours to practice, then they learn the dance, have lunch and then try out.
Her cheer coach told me that when tryouts are held this way, judges don't expect the girls to be prefect, they're looking at form, jumps, etc. So, Rie has been practicing her tumbling, jumps and an introduction. Believe it or not, one of her friends who is a cheerleader, told her that only 1 girl tumbles and she's graduating.
I get wait for tomorrow to be over. Rie is fine but I know she'll be disappointed if she doesn't make the squad. Learning how to deal with disappointment is a good thing. As a mom though, y'all know how we all want our daughters to be happy.

So how'd she do? I'm thinking about her and wishing her good luck.

Congrats to Kendall!!!!:cheer2:

Still waiting to hear how Rie did!

So glad to hear you're heading this way, hope you have a great time. If you have any questions feel free to ask, everyone here is very helpful!:goodvibes

I'm asking for prayers that this happens. We got an offer on M&D's house yesterday and my agent called and told me they accepted our counteroffer. This buyer is a much stronger buyer than the ones we've had before that fell through. She's putting down 20%! I'm just praying that this goes through this time, I'll believe it when the check is in my hand.

:cheer2:We just found out that Rie made the cheer squad too!!!!:cheer2:

The poor moderator is probably deaf in the ear she had near the phone because we screamed so loudly!

Congrats to Kendall!!!!:cheer2:

As you can see by her mom's excited post, Rie mad the squad!!!!

I hope the sale goes through for y'all.

Congrats to Rie and proud Momma!:cheer2:

Thanks so much. She tried out in grade school and then 2x in middle school, so the 5th time is the charm. Rie busted butt this year perfecting her tumbling and it paid off. She just started at this school 2 weeks ago and loves it, so this makes it even better!!!

That is good news. I hope it goes through for you this time, I know it's been a long process for you.

I have been looking at apartments online and it's making my head spin. They all look the same after a bit.

:cheer2:We just found out that Rie made the cheer squad too!!!!:cheer2:

Congratulations to both Rie and Kendall! :cheer2:

I remember you talking about schools a couple of weeks ago, I did not realize she was changing schools mid-year. For some reason I thought that she got accepted to begin in the fall.

Woo hoo! Congratulations to both Rie and Kendall!!!

That is awesome!
Kat I am so glad you got an offer on the house!! Ill keep my fingers crossed for you. I am doing the happy dance for you!!

:scared1: Not. Good.
So the battle against them will commence tomorrow? :headache:

So it's quite foggy here...like can barely see the building across the street foggy...and we have a severe thunderstorm warning. I don't think I've ever seen a thunderstorm roll in through fog. :confused3 Fog just seems so...mellow.

Hi all I was so excited to see a thread for New Orleans. I live right outside od Hammond. I knew there were fellow Disney lovers out there just hadn't found them until now. :cool1: I have a girls only trip that starts thursday April2. It's only for the weekend, but anytime at Disney is a good time. This is my thrid "mommy trip" I have been on with my BFF. I haven't read through the whole thread, but if there is a meet soon I would love to attend. Again I'm sooo glad there are more of us here in Louisiana.

I have not seen that movie. Must. Watch. Soon.

Thanks...we are rockin' and rollin'! :headache:

The walls are disintegrating again (still). I found more sand earlier today. It's from the exterior bricks. When it rains, I get sand inside. :headache:
