Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 03/2009

Hi all I was so excited to see a thread for New Orleans. I live right outside od Hammond. I knew there were fellow Disney lovers out there just hadn't found them until now. :cool1: I have a girls only trip that starts thursday April2. It's only for the weekend, but anytime at Disney is a good time. This is my thrid "mommy trip" I have been on with my BFF. I haven't read through the whole thread, but if there is a meet soon I would love to attend. Again I'm sooo glad there are more of us here in Louisiana.

Hi Miceli20! Welcome
:cheer2:Congratulations to Kendall!!! :cheer2:
:cheer2:We just found out that Rie made the cheer squad too!!!!:cheer2:

I hope the sale goes through for y'all.

Congratulations to both Rie and Kendall!:cheer2: Way to go! Happy for the moms too...:woohoo:

Such a pretty day today.. but all I have to say is one word to let you all know how my day went.

TERMITES.

Just cracked a bottle of wine.. tomorrow is another day lol.
Ill deal with it then.

Lori.. ive been wanting to buy that DS cooking game.. is it worth it?

OH NO! Tomorrow the war against the pesky boogers can start... until then, enjoy your wine. I hope the damage isn't too extensive.

Lori... I am curious about the DS game too...

Kathy: :dance3::banana::cheer2::woohoo: At least this time things are looking more promising... I will send good thoughts your way that things actually go through this time and then we can really celebrate....

congrats to the new cheerleaders! sorry about the termites Jenny...wine covers all ills.....;) praying the damage is not too expensive. this is why i want concrete walls...

so weekend was great - thanks to all for prayers cause it was pretty hairy...(uh did I write this already? hmm) anyway I got a migraine this morning and it was very stressful but I kicked it on the singing and the presentation....but I am SO glad it is over and glad to be home! feels like Dorothy - there's NO place like home!

so next big project...TAXES. yes the teacher of time management (snort) is the worst procrastinator...so next week will be spent finishing that necessary evil...

also when is the next get together....and hanging with piglet!!!

oh and praying house sale goes through....

if I missed anything, so sorry!!!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Kendall made the team again. They had 45 girls trying out and they took 16. I'm so glad it's over but I'm sure not as glad as the girls were. Their little nerves were shot.

So how'd she do? I'm thinking about her and wishing her good luck.

yay!!!!:cool1:

:cheer2:Congratulations to Kendall!!! :cheer2:

Kat I am so glad you got an offer on the house!! Ill keep my fingers crossed for you. I am doing the happy dance for you!!

Jenny..... ugh..... so sorry:scared1:

If you are not a very learned cook, it is a GODsend! The recipes ARE exotic however, so maybe even more daring and experienced cooks would like it. I wish DSlites were out in 1993 when I got married. It would've helped.:rolleyes1

Pray for my DH please, he has an interview tomorrow and lately he has been so much FUN to be around, if you get my drift. He has handles things so well and has some bad weeks in between-this is one. He is picking little fights with me and it is giving me a :headache:. I am very patient and not bothered YET about the job thing, although disappointed as he is that we have not been able to double dip. But he is being trivial and on top of MY job issues, I am not taking it well. I am trying to be reasonable but it is not going well. My patience is shaky. I am hoping for a better week.

Lori

Congratulations to both Rie and Kendall! :cheer2:
I remember you talking about schools a couple of weeks ago, I did not realize she was changing schools mid-year. For some reason I thought that she got accepted to begin in the fall.

Thank you!!
The school is on a block schedule, she she's taking 4 1/4 credit classes and taking the other 4 credits through correspondence classes.

Woo hoo! Congratulations to both Rie and Kendall!!!

Taxes now that's a battle I wish I could win.

!

Do you think if I poured the wine on them it would kill them all LOL!!
My best friends dad owns a pest control company in New Iberia so he will come up and treat at a discount.. we will just have to repair all damage. So far it doesnt look like there is much, but Chad will have to look more tomorrow when he has better light.
Glad your migraine is better.. those things are NO fun!!

Lori I will say a prayer for your DH tonight and tomorrow!
Oh the trials and tribulations of being married.. it is always an interesting road isnt it?

now don't ya'll know New Orleans city limits stretch to Florida, New York and Arkansas??? we are real generous here...

Awwww...:goodvibes

Don't tell the New Yorkers that. They will flip out. :lmao:

And NO, I am apparently NOT a New Yorker, nor will I ever be. I was NOT born here and therefore I'm an impostor and wanna be and I should just leave.

(YES, you may file that in the "stupid things people really say" category...)

Grats to the cheerleaders. For the house, the termites and the jobs - good thing there is wine. Too bad I can't drink it anymore. Suddenly for the last two years it gives me headaches. :confused3 Well, red wine anyway. I don't drink white, so I don't know.

Yesterday was insane. Every appointment was sick/issues/oh-by-the-way-she's-been-vomiting-for-weeks-and-hasn't-eaten-in-four-days. We close at 3. I clocked out at 7:30. Went to the crawfish festival for dinner. Came home and passed out at 9:30. Zonked. :faint: Hasta la vista, baby. Wake me up when September ends.

Went to work this morning, got to the festival at 4, and just got home at 10:30. Went last night just for dinner and tonight ate and saw Top Cats and Bag of Donuts. :rockband:

Between me and Tony we ate:
soft shell crab
chicken on a stick
crawfish pasta
crawfish etouffee
crawfish beignets
shrimp and crab bisque
crab cake over dirty rice
onion mum
egg rolls
funnel cake
boiled crawfish
crawfish catfish
gumbo
butterfly potatoes

Other food we wanted but just couldn't: chili cheese fries, nachos, pizza, ice cream, snow balls, daiquiris, grilled lobster tail, shish ka bob, jambalaya, seafood platter

Other food there that did not appeal to me: shark on a stick, alligator on a stick, pig in a sack

I don't think I'll eat for a week...wait, we have ribs in the fridge. Ok, I'll eat ribs tomorrow, then nothing for a week.

You ate all that in only 2 evenings? :confused3 They had shark? Who knew? :confused3

And if you figure out a way to hibernate, let me know. I'd like to check out until June 26.

So last night I was WIDE AWAKE but forced myself to go to bed because, well, I had to get up early. My body was tired, but my mind was going strong. I knew even before falling asleep that this was not good. I dreamed - one LONG, utterly bizarre, dream basically ALL NIGHT LONG. :lmao: I hit the snooze button and when I woke up the 2nd time, I had forgotten most of it though. :sad2: One part involved walking along some railroad tracks between two towns in Mississippi. I was looking for a place to open some store, and the first town just wasn't quite right. But I wasn't walking alone. I was walking with some random people, but we weren't just walking. We were linked elbows and walking and singing like we were in a musical. Then I stopped and was like "why are we WALKING? Don't we have a CAR?" :confused3:lmao:

I saw this car I want. Problem? It's in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. :headache:

Okay, I gotta go get ready for work. I'm sooooo tired; I feel like I didn't sleep at all! Have a good day everybody!

GM ladies!

I am so tired this morrning. We were in Hammond at DD's gym state meet yesterday; we left at 9 and did not get home until 6. :rolleyes1 It was an all day affair however she placed 3rd for the floor routine. We can now enjoy our weekends again. :yay:

I am so craving some crawfish!

You're lucky, that can be very expensive.

Sounds like an awesome time. We usually go but we had baseball games.

You should publish your dreams.....:rotfl2:

Congrats to your DD!!!!!

De-No's does some mean boiled crawfish....

Okay moms I am trying to decide what DD will do for the summer. Have you decided what camps your kids will attend?

Thanks for the yays, Lori!!!

Prayers said for your husband and for you too!!!

Happy Monday everyone! Looks like it was a busy, successful weekend for most of you!

:woohoo:Yay to our two new resident cheer moms (and their daughters!) and to Terry for surviving another gymnastics season!

DNiece made her school's cheer squad as well! Rie's mom - I'm guessing she's no longer @ the same school as Rie if you've switched. Is Rie doing better in the new environment?

Fingers crossed, prayers said, pixie dust scattered for Kathy on the house contract!

Jen - glad you have somebody who can come take care of the termite issue. Hope y'all don't see much in the way of structural problems. Are y'all required to have extra protection for Formosans in Livingston? Our contract almost doubled in price about 5 yrs ago when it was reported that a colony of Formosans had been found in Ascension. UGH!

Lorie- Sorry Sienna's been such a pill. Headstrong, independent, tete dur - pretty much sums up DS2. It made for some battle royales here as well, until I learned to pick those battles best I could. Limiting choices to where I ultimately controlled the outcome, although he felt like he had control helped as well.

Oh gosh, just had a flashback to one particular incident. Alex Box stadium parking lot. DS2 REFUSED to get into his car seat once he figured DS1 & DH were staying behind to watch the rest of the game. I can't remember how in the heck I convinced him to stay put, but anyone within earshot must've been :scared1:.

Lori- :hug:on the job situation. I'd feel stressed myself if I had to show up for testing in your department/closet. Have you thought of trying to pick up PRN work elsewhere? There's got to be a place more appreciative of your talents.

Congrats to your niece!!! Rie is at a different school and LOVES it!!! She's so happy there and now being chosen to be a cheerleader is icing on the cake!!

I'm trying to figure out who your niece is. Call me Miss Marple although I'm probably more of an Inspector Clouseau.:rotfl:I'm trying to figure out who your niece is. We know all the cheerleaders at your niece's school and they are all very sweet girls!!!
