An employee of MetLife and a subscriber to another site posted this today:

I received the following email at work today:

"MetLife has ended its involvement with the Wonders of Life Pavilion at Walt Disney World's Epcot Center. As a result, the sale of Walt Disney World and Disneyland discounted tickets through MetLife will be discontinued. In order to give associates a window of opportunity to wrap-up any pending vacation plans, requests for discounted Disney tickets will be honored through June 6, 2001. For further ticket information e-mail XXX."

How long before the pavilion closes?

Well, considering how long the Livings Seas has been limping along (depressingly I might add, I'd rather it were closed) Not any time soon. Of course the Health and fitness industry is big bucks, so they may find a new sponser soon enough.

I can see it now, Bally Total Fitness will be the new sponser and every ride will feature those fake people from the comercials who look perfect in every way (men and women) who entice you to get a gym membership. :)

I was so dissapointed when I saw what has become of the Living Seas.

How much money was Met Life giving Disney anyway? What would it take to find a sponsor for this and other pavillions. Is it just money? Or are there other committments?

Unfortunitely I have to admit you guys are right. I noticed both pavillions were suffering terribly when I was in Epcot in December. I usually spend so much time in the World Showcase. Why is Disney letting that happen?

I hope this isn't the beginning of the end for Wonders of Life, too. The Living Seas is so disappointing, we pass it right by. It's sad to think what this means for WoL, too.

Does anyone know when and/or why UTC stopped its sponsorship of the Living Seas? (I'm just curious because my husband works for one of UTC's divisions) I didn't even realize that they weren't sponsoring it anymore until we got there. One of the maps I had seen on the Internet still had UTC listed as the sponsor. The map we had at the park did not list them, and my husband noticed there were some "covered up" logos inside.
