I feel the opposite.

I can't manage individual trays like these for my family at quick service restaurants, but if someone is actually delivering individualized trays to my table for each family member, I'd be fine with it, even at CG. I'd just think of it as a trendy plate.

CG I don't think it would work because a lot of their dishes have a sauce element. I'm thinking sandwich type places are fine. I'm sure they have little containers for "wet" food. (and honestly, I probably wouldn't care there either. :) )

I don't know how you will handle your issue - hopefully someone can report back soon on what's happening! I'm sure many have had this issue.

The one argument against this that makes it a questionable decision is having to carry multiple trays for a family. It's absolutely correct that I can more easily put an extra plate on a large tray than attempt to carry two trays across a crowded cafeteria. This is an issue I'd love to see the solution for because my young kids can't be trusted to carry their own tray across a crowded cafeteria.

Yes. And this is why it makes no sense to me.

Sure. If you're just in charge of getting your own food, it's probably a non-issue, but at an AllStar resort that's more likely full of families, I just think it's a dumb decision.

The large tray brigade? Nice, I've always wanted to be part of a team.
I feel like if I ever defend Disney that I also need to list the ways Disney annoys me. There are quite a few, this isn't one of them.

Again, a quick service, fast casual restaurant? I don't really care.

California Grill? I would care.

And to be fair, when I stated that "I can't believe people enjoy paying for food served this way" That goes for your regular Casual Dining place as well. I really don't see the need to give my business to a place that serves up what should be plated food this way (I'm looking at you Chili's). So if that is some kind of trend, then the feed bag can't be far behind (reusable, provided for a one time fee).

Some items, sure. Seems to lend itself to BBQ and or platters.

Oh, I agree that it's probably never going to happen there. I just wouldn't be offended if it did. But then again, I like to order the pizza at CG.

I love eating at Disney. In a tray or basket straw or no straw. Don’t really care. Sounds like you may need to stop doing Disney trips. I’ll take your place. Never seen service and food as an issue. I think people just feel intitled these days or love to complain. It’s all first world problems.
Entitled no!!!! Just want a premium experience for the premium price I am paying for. I can eat off wax paper at six flags (cheap place cheap food UNDERSTOOD) What I don't understand is because I want reasonable service, not melted wax on my food, I am entitled. NOT so, just want what I am paying for. If I am going to pay more for a hamburger than I wou;d at a Diner (plates cups all included, made out of glass and ceramic and washed and disinfected) it wpould be nice if it came with a plate. ENTITLED NO, I think if I asked 100 people this question they would not say I'm entitled they woul;d say either I am particular about the way I eat or just plain crazy, but not entitled. I don't think attacking people with unsubstatuiated labels is what this board is for. It is about expressing opinions.

It's a quick service food court, there's nothing premium about it. It's the cheapest Disney food you can get.

It’s a counter service place to eat. Not le cellier. Seriously. I think the above quote is a joke. No one can be that intitled or ridiculous...
And that’s an opinion. You are being. If the above post is serious. Ridiculous.

Hold on, we haven't seen actual picture proof that this is what this one food court on property is doing, right? Paper plates aren't "cheap" but metal trays are? :rotfl2:

I didn't know that my $15 for a burger and fries at a QS restaurant qualifies me for silver service!!! I'll tell McDonalds that my mcnuggets and fries ought to be served on a silver platter, then!

Page 9 of this thread has a picture of the metal tray.

I personally didn't like the idea of the metal (prison) tray. Depending on what I ordered there were times I asked for a paper plate. Eating pancakes or waffles were the worse as the syrup ran all over the tray.

I personally consider myself fast food royalty. I want a tray AND a plate. I know, so entitled.

I don't think Disney has figured out how to get out of having trays, but yes, not purchasing plates would likely save them some dollars.

The pic on page 9 is from the Sci-Fi, I haven't seen any pictures of these trays in use at the All Star food courts yet.

None of them are specifically from all star movies except the page 7 one which doesn't look metal to me. And it's not from the general menu either.

There were several more photos in this thread before. Not seeing them now. Don't know why. From what I have seen, its that cardboard tray on top of a plastic tray. Though I thought I had seen a pic of a breakfast on the metal tray from ASM, but can't figure out where I saw it.

The picture on page 9 may not be from All Star but that is the same tray they are using as All Star Movies. I just returned from a 12 day trip and that is the tray they have been using.

So they should have replaced it with another before they opened for the day.

Maybe they couldn't. Maybe it broke during the day while the business was open, but they didn't close because they could still sell other items. If customer was told it was broken, then Disney did all they needed to do.

(besides offer to stir for customer, they should have done that)

They should have made it up for the customer and handed them a cup of hot chocolate, not hot water. Or they could have shut down sales on hot chocolate and advised them to go to another location to buy it.
