Is this for real? In my head I’m picturing a prison cafeteria line where they just scoop out slop to your tray.
This is beyond cheap and tacky. I would not eat food served to me like that. And as a previous poster mentioned, I’m usually getting 2-4 people’s food. So I would just have piles of food scattered around a tray?
Wax paper or no, it does not sound hygienic. You know those trays are not getting washed, and plenty of foods, sauces etc will leak through.

I just googled "chilis new plating" and it pulled up metal trays with paper. Food items were chicken, ribs, etc. Not sure if this is the same, but do not like it.

Well, now I guess when the DGKs come over, I'll just put down a few lengths of wax paper on the table and plop the food down. No need of serving dishes. Easy clean up. If it's good enough for disney, it's good enough for me.


Those pictures at chilli's look worse than prison or school trays. Back in the stone age, we at least had trays that were divided. You didn't have beans ruining your hot dog rolls.

And how do you share a bounty platter now.....this is my piece of paper and that's yours?????

Doesn't the paper on the chilli's pictures get torn up? Are you expected to be chewing ribs and paper? Perhaps the paper is for fiber?

Come to think of it, the ribs at The Polite Pig in DS are served like this, but their wax paper is fancier so you just don’t notice.

My first thought is, that doesn't look thrilling. But my nephew, who is hugely into being green, will love it. He is the one who pushes us to be green at the resorts and skip housekeeping.

My sister, who may join us on that trip, would be disgusted.

Prison cafeteria comes to my mind also, no thank you! I do hope they are getting sanitized in between uses
