Metal Stamping?

Hi all,

I'm thinking about trying my hand at some metal stamping. Just something small like some disks for keychains, etc. I have a bench block and a set of stamps, but I'm having trouble finding a place to get the actual blanks to stamp on. I checked Michael's and no luck. I've also looked at a couple of places online but one didn't have a very good selection and the other seemed to be out of stock of most "normal" size items.

I have a request in with one of the vendors on etsy.com, but according to her shop updates, she's taking time off until after New Year's and I'm wondering how long it will take her to get caught up on orders after she's back.

Does anyone know of a brick and mortar store that might sell blanks? I'm looking for things like 24 gauge silver in 1 inch rounds or rectangles.

Have you checked eBay? I took a jewelry class, and know of metal stamping and the stamps used - mostly letters. But I'm not really familiar with what you are talking about, but sounds neat!

Anyway, there's a professional jewelry place students would order from, they have quite a bit and they may have what you are looking for, not sure? As of this message my posting count was too low to post websites, but it's basically RioGrande and then just add dot com after the name.

Thanks for the website. It looks like they have more raw pieces and I don't think I could cut them into what I'm looking for.

A website that has the kind of things I'm looking for is something like:

They're basically finished pendants and things that you can personalize by stamping on. Hope that explains it better. Maybe it's something you'd be interested in doing too!
