I understand that UO Have gotten rid off all their gunge/mess attractions for soem reason, yet The Blue Man group are still running,i heard that if you sit in the first few rows you get quite messed up.

Is this true and if so can you ask to be seated in the messy seats specifically?

You won't get super messy. Blue Man is not like a Gallager show where stuff is constantly flying into the audience.

But if you are in the front couple rows there is a chance you could get some splatter from the paint.

If you want to sit in the "messy section", Make sure you select the Poncho Area seats when you purchase your tickets.

I've not seen BMG at Universal, but assuming it's not wildly different from their other shows, you'll be fine anywhere but the first few rows (where they give you ponchos). They do some stuff on stage that might occasionally bleed out into the crowd, but it's not like they intentionally shoot things out at you.

Actually they do toss out marshmellows and jello at the crowd.

Anyone ever get splattered with paint, jello, or other flying objects in the first row AFTER the poncho seats?

I guess I do remember a couple of marshmallows coming out at the crowd, but a marshmallow would pretty much just bounce right off anyway, cant imagine that would be a big deal. The jello seems odd, though -- don't recall that at all. Regardless, I don't remember anything going more than a couple of rows.

Jello? Marshmallows!? Why have I not been to this show yet? I hear there is also captain crunch. CRAZINESS! I must go see this

We sat in the front row (poncho seats) and despite interacting with the Blue Men directly during the show, we did not get messy at all. So it CAN happen, but doesn't always. :thumbsup2

I guess they need to add that it is a possibility to the show description in case someone complains or makes a claim for ruined clothing after the show.

i sat in the poncho seats and nothing even came near me. i was worried over nothing.....

no one in the first 3 rows had anything on them either.

i guess it depends on the show itself if any debris would come your way.

the paper streamers at the ending from the back of the theater was the only thing that traveled in the audience.
