I want to wish all of you FW campers a blessed and happy Merry Christmas! :santa:

Those of you camping at the Fort are especially fortunate and for those of us who have been recently, will be there soon, or long to schedule a trip, maybe we can hopefully experience that happy feeling soon.

Hope Santa left something for you under the Christmas tree.

Merry Christmas as well Ed.

Funny situation.

Some of you remember we lost our Jack Russell this past January. Had Dixie 18 years. My wife and I bought her our first Christmas after marriage and she was part of it since. We adopted Pepper last year but she's a larger dog. We had debated possibly getting another small dog for Christmas but decided 3 days ago to hold off.

Yesterday evening I was coming home on 4 wheeler from hunting when I suddenly came across a small dog. It was clean and seemed quite well taken care of. However, as soon as I got off the ATV it took off screaming into the bushes. I feared it would not survive the coyotes but nothing I could do.

This morning I was taking out trash after presents were opened and I thought about the dog. Probably gone by now, but it was cold so I figured what the heck. Rode golf cart back down into woods and sure enough, there it was. Right in middle of the path. Only this time it didn't run. Instead, the darn little thing came to me. Let me pet it. Then eventually crawled up onto the cart with me. It even stayed still while I drove all way through woods to the house.

Now, it is tail wagging and running around with the kids and Pepper in back yard.

I'm asking around for possible owner. If not, kids have already named him Socks because of his front feet.

Strange the way things happen.

Merry Christmas to all.
Michael we don't choose our dogs they choose us. Looks Like you have a new member of the family. Might want to bring her to your vet and see if she has been chipped. Just remember if the owner shows up and says his name is Wenus that's how the Baxters got Muffin

Merry Christmas to all. Going to the Fort seems like Christmas anytime of the year. I'm finalizing plans for two weeks in March, while reading and dreaming of fun at the Fort. I keep looking for things I have never done before and things I have to do again. Just wishing I was there now. I think in a few years we will make a Christmas run hopefully.

That's a tough one. On the one hand, it sure would be nice to reunite someone with their lost dog (been there, done that, wasn't easy).
On the other hand, as @FtW Mike said, seems like it may have been meant to be. Please keep us posted.
Now if it was only that easy to find a new TT. :rolleyes1

Hope all had a Merry Christmas and are looking forward to a Happy New Year! Thanks for all the sage information over the years. We're headed back to the Fort in May and December 2019, can't wait.
