Merry Christmas DIS Campers (formerly Status Check: How's Everybody's Christmas Plans Going?)

Ed, so far so good.

The camper is a wreck. Not sure how many of you do this, but at our house the camper is Santa's Workshop. It's filled with gifts, wrapping paper, bags, bows, and who knows what else. The gifts have all been put together first, then wrapped. This saves us a lot of headache on Christmas Day allowing for more family time.

The turkey has been moved from the freezer to the fridge to slow thaw between now and Christmas Day. All the ingredients for dinner are stocked so no last minute shopping for us.

Our mantle with some of our Christmas cards on display. Some of those cards are from some of you guys here on the Disboards. Special thanks to those of you from our family

In our kitchen we have motion lights which are low voltage and give just enough light to see at night if you get up and need a drink of water. During Christmas, we replace the low voltage lights with our Christmas Village and use the lights from the houses to light the kitchen at night.

One of those "houses" is my favorite one...

So, now we are just waiting for the fat guy to come down the chimney and bring our kids "most" of what was on those long lists that they mailed to him back in November. Like Ed, I like to click my way through the holidays as much as I can.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who decorates the "trophies"

Everything is bought and wrapped. Christmas day will just be myself, DH & DS, so we will go out for breakfast, come back open gifts and then the plans are for an early dinner, standing rib roast, then head to our local county park, Circle B Ranch for a nature hike. Since the weather is so warm here in central Fl, no reason not to enjoy some outside time. The day after we head to my brother in laws to celebrate with my husband's family. Unfortunately, my family (my two sisters) have too many other things going on to have time to get together (can you tell I am a little bitter over that!!!) Then on the 27th we head to the Fort four five days. Hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas.

You can't really tell by the photo above, but a lot of my ornaments are from Disney. This is my newest addition.

Been buying one a year for the past 20 or so years, since we first got our annual passes.

I'm off work for the next glorious two weeks! All the shopping is done except for a nightgown I have to track down tomorrow for my mom. I do have Prime and I LOVE it;) just in case.

We had our family bingo night and the grand prize for the cover the whole card round was a big box with a new sleeping bag, new chair, and our magic bands for our trip to the Fort on the 27th. The kids were ecstatic! Now I can start the meal planning, food shopping, and packing since they know. I can't wait to be there and do...nothing. That's it - eating, having a drink, riding our bikes and then doing it all over again!

We will celebrate the 24th at my parents house with my 4 siblings, their families, and my inlaws. The 25th is making the rounds of both grandparents and probably a big family open house at an uncle's house.

I'm sure that our 80 degree day spent at the beach today sounds just as alien to some of you as your several inches of snow does to me. It's going to be hot at the Fort for New Year's Eve!!

Our shopping is done & last package mailed yesterday. We have Christmas Eve services. Christmas Day we will go to our kids. Our daughter-in-law said don't worry about cooking, so Mom is off the hook this year. We are leaving for the Fort on Jan 1st @ 4:00 AM. Our Son & his family will keep our two (2) four legged girls. We now have our camper back after 5 weeks in the shop. We wish all of your & very Merry Christmas & a great 2016. Hope to visit with ones at the Fort in January. (Jan 3rd thru 16th) Our stress is getting the camper packed & ready to leave. Grumpy Aggie is off Christmas Eve, so hopefully he can get a lot done.

Just spent the late evening hours in the basement wrapping gifts. I miss our camper! It was our Santa's workshop too. I would have to go out and let the heat run before going out though. The kids and I are off for 2 weeks. We'll get the groceries tomorrow and need to bake the cookies for Santa.
Merry Christmas everyone!

The house was decorated a few weeks ago with our artificial tree. Not as nice as a live one, but works when we know we will be out of town. All the gifts I plan to give are here except one which the big A is shipping 1 day due to the back order.

Tonight is final load up and prep to drive south, a nice 8 hour drive on Wed is in my future.

Most stuff bought. Now let the wrapping begin. I basically get for the DW and the DW gets for everyone else. (I love my DW a LOT!!!! for things just like this. She is wonderful).

Everything wrapped and put together. Got the wife some secret gifts that won't show up until Christmas day, this way she doesn't try to get me anything. I prefer to sit back and watch everybody else unwrap.

I did purchase a new Butterball electric turkey fryer XL today. Pretty cool as it will cook up to a 20# bird. It also boils and steams. Seems easier than hauling my propane bottle and cooker around with me. We'll see how it works out.

Well, I'm not arriving at the Fort today like I was a year ago...but we're all teed up for a nice Christmas at home nonetheless. My MIL is in town staying with us, gifts are all wrapped, most of the grocery shopping is done, and my MIL and I even took a little drive to see some lights last night (my boys are party poopers when it comes to local light peeping). Now we just need to get the ingredients for some Christmas Sangria we saw on Pinterest and we'll be good to go!

Merry Christmas to the DIS Fort gang!!!

No new posts tonight. Everyone must be prepping toys or wrapping presents. Maybe they are all baking Christmas cookies. It is too early to be starting dinner. I have all my presents wrapped and under the tree. I have pineapple in the dehydrator, the last batch. Dishes are done and the house is clean, just waiting until midnight to get fastpasses then to bed. Tomorrow is dinner here at our house, parents, MIL and DW and I. Ham, potatoes, corn, deer chili, and keilbasa, can't wait.

I'm staying up waiting for the thunderstorm to pass. It's December and it's storming in WV. It was snowing and 20 degrees Friday night. That's crazy!
Wrapping is done, cookies are done. Headed out tomorrow to pick up the ham and pies. It's been very nice having the whole week off from school. We haven't had this much time off before Christmas in a long time.

Yumm! That's almost what our Christmas Dinner will be. While we aren't planning on deer chili for the dinner, I do have some that I canned just about 3 weeks ago. Might have to pull out a jar or two to go with the meal.

Spent the better part of yesterday (Christmas eve eve) wrapping DW's presents (before she got home from work) and then finalizing wrapping the kiddo's presents as well as Parents (mine and hers). Just need to pick up a few cards for brother and sister-in-law as well as my nephew. As we (DW and I) collapsed in bed last night I asked her if all we needed to do on the evening of Christmas eve is (eh-hem) wait for Santa to deliver the presents. She nodded and all was well.

Can't wait to see the kiddos (DD10, DD18, DD's BF21) on Christmas day.

I have such a wonderful DW and I am blessed to have her. She does all the "grunt" work getting ready for the big day (buying the presents, keeping track of what we need, keeping me on track of what I need to buy or do, etc...) to the point that I really only need to buy gifts for her. She even knows how to take care of my family (Dad, siblings, nieces/nephews, etc...) I am so truly lucky to have her in my life and that is a wonderful gift for me this holiday season.

Whether you are AT the Fort, Planning to go to the Fort, Dreaming about the Fort, or Reminiscing about it (etc..), I hope everyone and your families both near and far has a wonderful Christmas.

Merry Christmas Eve to everyone! Baked Christmas cookies yesterday and have a neighborhood party this evening. All gifts are wrapped and under tree. Have to admit, I miss playing Santa, but the DS is almost 19, so this year everything is already out. Went to Publix yesterday to get rib roast, potatoes and Brussels sprouts for dinner tomorrow. The store was a mad house! Just the three of us for Christmas Day, then with DH family the day after. On Sunday we head to the Fort for five days! Need to adjust my packing list, as we are still in the mid 80s here! so need to take off the jackets and add the swim suits. You can read my reports on the December trip report thread.

Sounds like it is all under control. Travel safe and enjoy the Fort. It is terribly warm here in Northeast PA for this time of year. Christmas eve and it is currently 60 degrees and we are going to climb to 68. Crazy weather, but I don't miss shoveling snow for sure. Supposed to return to more normal temperatures with the New Year, not looking forward to that as I am getting spoiled. Look forward to the TR.

Chris, about a month ago, I swapped my Lawn Mower from it's "Accessible" location with the Snow blower's "Storage" location. I am thinking I might have to swap back.

While I do love the snow, I don't miss clearing it, nor do I miss the higher heating bills.

Merry (warm) Christmas to a fellow NEPA guy, hayna? :rotfl2:

Rain, rain, and more rain. Did I mention I was out at my shop today doing some things and was breaking a sweat. Crazy Christmas weather.

I gotta work this evening hopefully make it in and be able to help Santa put out the presents.

We have all of tomorrow's food items mixed and ready and in the fridge. All we gotta do is stick them in the oven. The turkey is thawed and ready for the fryer tomorrow.
