Merging dining plans with existing ADRs

How does this work? I've already booked our ADRs for our upcoming November trip. I may get the dining plan but haven't decided. For the reservations, I saw where you could link your DDP to the ADR. How does it work for someone who has all their ADRs, including reservations that required a credit card payment in full (like CRT)?

The only times it matters to link the dining plan is on the prepaid meals. Since you've already prepaid, they'll just refund the money when you use your credits at the time of your meal.

You can always call WDW Dining at 407-WDW-DINE and they will mark the reservations as Dining Plan reservations.

I did this earlier this spring and never had any issues. You will just need your confirmation number for the dining reservation.

If you have already made your reservations there is no need to do this at all. You will notify the server when you arrive that you are on the dining plan - that is all you need to do. You will be refunded for CRT when you arrive and switch your payment to dining credits - but not before then.

If you call Disney... And if you get a reservation specialist who knows what they are doing, they can link your CRT to the dining plan now, and refund your money now.

I had pre-paid the last time... then gotten the DDP. At first, I was told over the phone that I would have to wait until I arrived at CRT to get a refund.
Then a few weeks later, when I was simply making other changes.... a more experienced cast member offered to fix the CRT reservation and refund the money.
