'Merciless bed' gets sleepyheads up in the morning

NUREMBERG, Germany - A German schoolgirl has invented a "merciless bed" to ensure sleepyheads get up in the morning.

The bed raises the mattress 0.4 of an inch a minute after an alarm rings. After five minutes, the sleepyhead is rolled onto the floor.

"I constructed it myself", Iris Koser, 16, said at an exhibition of inventions this week.

You know what works in this house? Get a bag of marbles from the dollar store. Keep them in the freezer. Then when one of the kids, or hubby, won't get out of bed, just pour those frozen marbles right in to the bed! Cold-as-all-get-out and you can't roll away from them. Also, less messy than dumping cold water on them!
