Mentally Preparing: A Focker, A Croc & Waldo hit POFQ! Trip Report Link is UP!

Hmmmkayyyyy.....where are YOU???

Where's the pics of your freaky self? And did "the package" come????

popcorn::

Good update! So, let me hear this right. You bought the Misty Mates that Jo so desperately wants and now you're just gonna "spray" it in her face that you have one and she doesn't? Sounds good to me! :lmao:

Call your TA. Don't wait for them to call you. I never did. I can't stand waiting!!! I'm little Ms. Impatient....

Good update! So, let me hear this right. You bought the Misty Mates that Jo so desperately wants and now you're just gonna "spray" it in her face that you have one and she doesn't? Sounds good to me! :lmao:

:rotfl2: I'm not that mean, DM! She's got rentayenta running all over the place getting the MistyMates for her! :lmao:

I really wish we could insert a music clip in our trip reports. At this point, I'd put in "The Final Countdown" by Europe. You all know that little diddy, don'tcha? (OT but I have to mention this; Whenever I see that CD collection for sale on cable... you know the "Monsters of Rock" commercial, I think of LL! :lmao: :confused3 )

You know it baybeeeee!!!!:rockband:

I may...or may not...have the Monsters of Rock collection....:rolleyes1

Anywho, back to topic....
My lover TGM, tells me we at the 35 day mark. He doesn't know FDM, so let me convert for you: 35 days, less weekends, holidays, birthdays, travel day and today = 24 days!!!!

Yeah...the clock's a tickin'!!!:yay:

I've got both kids completely packed, with the exception of shoes. They're still wearing their crocs daily, so I can't exactly pack those. All their outfits are washed, bagged and tagged. Looks like I didn't buy Evan enough shorts, so I'll have to do a load or 2 of laundry, which is fine with me. As long as I've got a cocktail in one hand, everything's cake, baby. :thumbsup2

You are nothing if not efficient girlfriend! I haven't packed Michael yet...I usually do him first and very early as well...just to make myself feel better...Not this weekend, probably next weekend I'll do that...

I'm putting together our Garden Grocer list. Donald emailed me his requests and we're just gonna do one big honking order. I've got water, enhanced water a few breakfast items like cereal bars and stuff. I'm thinking of ordering Pull-up and wipes, so I don't have to pack them. I gave up on the potty training before WDW. It was just too much pressure for Evan and myself. I'm not going to try again until he's really ready. What's the point, really?

...water, "enhanced" water...sounds like my ummmm....list...I will definitely be having plenty of "enhanced" diet cokes....:rolleyes1

Yeah, don't sweat the potty training. It'll happen when he's ready. May not be a bad idea to order that stuff and just have it delivered. My other thought was to ship it to myself UPS, but...the heck with it...Garden Grocer here I come!

I think I mentioned Evan's still a little short for the 40 inch rides, so I went out and bought some elevator shoes. I found some really cute blue Vans, they reminded me of the old school Vans we wore in elementary school. I also bought some Dr. Scholls inserts and padded his shoes to give him that extra inch he needed. Will it work? I dunno, but I've got to try. He really just cares about Test Track and Kali. Everything else, he can ride here at Disneyland. My poor little girl, who's tall enough for everything, won't ride anything! :sad2: She did agree to Test Track, but you recall what happened last year don't you? If not, I'll cut to the chase and tell you she chickened out at the last minute. Andy's really giving her a hard time about not doing rides she's tall enough for. He tried the ol' "Daddy is spending thousands and thousands of dollars to take you to WDW and you need to ride all the rides!":lmao: Hello??? The child doesn't understand thousands of dollars! DUH! Anyway, I will not force her to do anything, as usual. I hate to see that and I won't do it.

You crack me up...all that for an inch!!:lmao: Just remember, if he doesn't hold his head right, those Dr. Scholls won't mean a thing...:teacher:

I hit Walgreens yesterday, to find those MistyMates, Jo had mentioned on her PTR. I found them. They only had 5 left, so I bought 2 and called Donald and told him to get over there and buy the rest. I would have bought the last 3 for him, but all I had was $20 and they were $7.99 each. We tested them out and they ROCK! :woohoo:

I'm going to look for those as well I think...do they sell them on their website too? Hmmm....maybe I'll go look and save a trip to the store...

Andy's sister, who is Evans Godmother will be in WDW from the 28th of July to the 8th of August. She'll miss his party, so we planned a small one with just her and her family. Oh man, did I mention they're supposed to be at AKL Conceirge level and you all heard about that fiasco, no? I thought they were moving all conceirge level guests to another resort. My SIL is probably so mad. They always stay at the GF, but decided to try AKL, against my SIL's wishes. I'm dying to talk to her this weekend and get the jugo on what's going on with their ressies. If they decide to go again next year, we'll try to go with them. The only thing is my SIL has her vacation time at the same time every year. Last week of July-1st week of August. I bet it's crazy crowded and hotter than Africa.

See....THAT's why I was going to cancel BOMA...I heard that even people who weren't staying concierge were getting moved and that the AKL was going to be virtually closed...:confused3 You'll have to let us know what you find out!!

Looks like Donalds leg is doing really well. He says he's about 75% better and should be back to normal by end of August. Let's just hope he doesn't do anything stupid. Wait, scratch that.... I KNOW he'll do something stupid, so lets just hope it's with minimal damage. :teeth:
Glad to hear that he's on the mend...keeping fingers crossed!!

Waldo is great. He's been staying out of trouble and behaving himself. Hopefully it's not the calm before the storm.:rolleyes1
Oooooh....that had an ominous tone to it!!

Once we've got Evans party out of the way, I can really open up the suitcases and get thing wrapped up. We've been spending our days just chillin' out. It hasn't been warm enough to hit Baby Beach, so we've been in the pool alot.

Wish the little guy a happy birthday from us (and Jo...I meant to wish Jess a happy birthday and don't remember if I did...If not, will you tell her for us?)

I can't figure out why below my knee is whiter than the rest of my body! :confused3 I tried to photo it, but in the pic, they look the same color.

Sure they do....:rolleyes1

Look away Jerry...I'm hideous!!:scared:

My TA still hasn't gotten back to me about our final documents. Lisa (Castillomom) got her stuff in the mail, but I haven't gotten ours. I know the TA will get the stuff and she'll call me, but I'm impatient, people! :dance3:

She's avoiding you...she's drunk in a bar somewhere, hiding until the 21st...:cool2:

I think that's it for now. Nothing exciting, I know. I think I've had enough excitement so far and things should go smoothly at least until the morning of Aug. 21. I know the drama will begin then! :lmao:

:woohoo: Can't wait!!

Really? This is who I think of when I think "LL and music":

(My lover TGM, tells me we at the 35 day mark. He doesn't know FDM, so let me convert for you: 35 days, less weekends, holidays, birthdays, travel day and today = 24 days!!!!
Which is like... 2 weeks!!!!! Give or take a fuzzy day. You'd think with all TGM's knowledge he'd be in on the FDM. :confused3

(As long as I've got a cocktail in one hand, everything's cake, baby. :thumbsup2
Yes ma'am! :thumbsup2

(I'm thinking of ordering Pull-up and wipes, so I don't have to pack them. I gave up on the potty training before WDW. It was just too much pressure for Evan and myself. I'm not going to try again until he's really ready. What's the point, really?
I have a Fuzzy idea: go ahead and order them. It might be like waiting for the bus. You know, light a cigarette and the bus will miraculously show? Buy the Pull-Ups and maybe Evan won't want them! It's like Murphy's Fuzzy Law. Or something.

Looks like Donalds leg is doing really well. He says he's about 75% better and should be back to normal by end of August.
Excellent news!

(Waldo is great. He's been staying out of trouble and behaving himself.
Yeah, this troubles me.... :rolleyes1

Wishing Evan a happy, happy Bday!

Lanai apparently used to be owned almost entirely by Dole, so there's not much in the way of development. You can see by my grounds photo that it's very green, but I don't know that I'd go to foresty... Maybe a little rainforesty, but the ride up the bike trail was all scrub and lava desert kinds of things.

We were alone! because of it being for DH's work, and it was great for 3 nights, but I'd never want a whole vacation there. Even I like a little more action. The kids would be happy on the beach, though. They have snorkel equipment free for guests (at least they did at the time) of either hotel, since they were "related." :) Glad to help, if I did. :) DH just went to the big island (again for work, but I couldn't go) and liked it too. :thumbsup2

You were a HUGE help, thanks again. DH thinks we should just skip Lanai as its also a trip for the boys and he doesnt think they will enjoy it as we would. So it is prob just Oahu for 6 or 7 nights, Maui 5-6 nights, and Big island for 3 nights. SOunds good to me.
So do you live in HI or does DH fly himself to HI and also inter-island"??
Sounds like a great job. Does he work for someone privately with their jet or for a company with jets to rent??Sorry for being so nosey but it sounds like FUN FUN FUN...especially if you can travel with him sometimes.

DLMAMA------SORRY FOR HIGHJACKING YOUR THREAD:hug:

you know the "Monsters of Rock" commercial,
I love that commercial and just maybe I have that cd.

I expected nothing less of you:goodvibes
As long as I've got a cocktail in one hand, everything's cake, baby. :thumbsup2
I second that:thumbsup2
I'm putting together our Garden Grocer list.
Have you used them before??Just wondering if the stuff is in your room waiting or do they del it only when you are there to get it. ?
I gave up on the potty training before WDW. It was just too much pressure for Evan and myself. I'm not going to try again until he's really ready. What's the point, really?
It always happens when you least expect it. Its always easier when you dont sweat the small stuff.;)

:rotfl2: You crack me up Tracy. DS5 is TALL however DS2 not so tall. Im sure we are going to do the same for him. Let me know if it works.

Glad to hear Donald is doing better and that Waldo is behaving. Lets hope the trend continues.
AND
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO EVAN!!!!

I can't believe you're already packed... Well, I can but I'm not even packed for my trip that we leave for in 48 hours! :rotfl2: I did just start some :laundy: though.

Good luck with all the height stuff! I hope it all works. And, definitely don't stress the potty stuff. Buzz HAD to be trained before preschool 2 years ago, and we finally came down to about a week before - I had him sit down just before we left for a Target run and said, "If you go on the potty right now, I'll buy you the dinosaur you've been asking for for the last two months." He sat down and did it, and that was that! :rolleyes1

I'm glad Donald is feeling better, and hope Waldo's not gearing up for something big... ;)

I'm always curious - you're not being nosy (or at least no nosier than I would be!) ;)

He flies for a company that has its own jets, and flies the bigwigs around. It's an international company, so he gets to go some pretty cool places. We live in NH. They are not Enron-like, and so all trips have to really be business related, but the HI trips tend to be "reward" trips for employees. The people winning the reward trip fly commercial, but then DH flies in the CFO or whomever to give the "rah, rah!" speech to the winners, if you get my drift. :) Most of the time we either don't have enough notice or he's not staying long enough for me to go - that trip 2 years ago was the only time I've done it.

He loves the job because it's not set routes or the same thing over and over.

Sorry, Tracy! Thanks for the ride! :)

Too bad you dont get more notice so you can"tag along". Although once the school years starts it would be hard to take the boys out of school so much.
Thanks for all your help, have a great trip to grandmas.

I totally agree on the potty training. DD turned three last January and we were going to Disney in April. I knew she had to be trained by the fall for pre-school but the thought of her just being potty trained and having to jump out of lines if she decided she needed to go was too much and we stuck with pull-ups for the trip. She loved having her Princess pull-ups on anyway. The velcro sides made changing them standing up in a bathroom stall easier (the Pampers commercials that make those sound like a bad thing always crack me up). Plus she still could potty when she wanted to. When summer came I told her she had to start using the potty right then if she wanted to go to pre-school (let's face it, I was pushing it waiting that long to sign her up) she was pretty much trained from that moment. What I thought had been accidents turned out to be her sitting wrong when I didn't go in with her.

I actually had one of those Misty Mates that I got years ago at a Toys R Us clearance for $3.99 but didn't take it because I was trying to travel lite. I ended up buying the expensive one there so it looks like I will have two for the next trip. We won't be traveling so lite then. ;)

Glad to hear Donald is doing so well. Can't you lock him up until travel time?

Good update! So, let me hear this right. You bought the Misty Mates that Jo so desperately wants and now you're just gonna "spray" it in her face that you have one and she doesn't? Sounds good to me! :lmao:
Hey friend that's what you'd do isn't it :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: I'm not that mean, DM! She's got rentayenta running all over the place getting the MistyMates for her! :lmao:
I know I feel bad now about mentioning them but I think she really wants them too :)

Still can't believe you're packed are your kids just going around in there underwear for the next 4 weeks :rotfl2:

I got Ellie potty trained before a holiday, it was a pool/beach holiday though but as she was in her swimsuit all day she just unpotty trained herself  It took months to get her trained again when we got back, also the last thing you want is to be running off to the toilet constantly!

Trac[e]y (Don't know if it is with or without the e :) ) how old is Evan, if you don't mind me asking. We have given up about all hope of having DS trained before we leave. He seems to do great in the am and then as it gets later in the day he seems to get tired (i.e. in my opinion lazy :rolleyes1 ). Then for the last 2 days he has been completely dry/clean and hasn't had one accident:cool1: I son't think he will be completely trained by our trip, but we are getting closer. Like you I am not going to sweat it, unless he is not trained by the time Kindergarten starts in September, 2008:rotfl:

All this potty training talk got me thinking about how/when I trained my boys. My first two have always been big for their age, so people expected them to be walking/talking/trained/reading....sooner than "normal". I had my second son in a WDW bathroom when he was 2. I was changing him on the changing table and a woman who was leaving the restroom stopped to say "Oh, he IS a big boy, isn't he?" As in, why on earth is that child still in diapers?

You KNOW he was trained within a week of us getting home. I didn't push him at all, he just woke up and asked for big boy underwear.

They all do it in their own time.

Potty Trained Did I hear someone say Potty Trained...Our DS(11) is still not Potty Trained.....Tree Trained yes but Potty Trained NO!!!!...:lmao: :lmao:

Just Kidding.....

Enjoyed the Update Tracy & I hope you keep Waldo in Line :rolleyes1

:cool2:

I may...or may not...have the Monsters of Rock collection
OH puhleeze!! You totally have it! :rotfl:

You are nothing if not efficient girlfriend! I haven't packed Michael yet...I usually do him first and very early as well...just to make myself feel better...Not this weekend, probably next weekend I'll do that...
I can't help it. I have to get the kiddos outta the way so I can pull out the big guns, baby! :lmao:

You crack me up...all that for an inch! Just remember, if he doesn't hold his head right, those Dr. Scholls won't mean a thing...
I keep telling him chin down! His noggin's a little pointy toward the back, so that gives him an extra little "lift".

I'm going to look for those as well I think...do they sell them on their website too? Hmmm....maybe I'll go look and save a trip to the store...
Yup, but on their website, they want $25 for 2. Plus shipping!

See....THAT's why I was going to cancel BOMA...I heard that even people who weren't staying concierge were getting moved and that the AKL was going to be virtually closed. You'll have to let us know what you find out!!
See I heard that most of AKL would be closed, but all the restaurants are going to be open. I'm hoping it's nice and empty... Boma, that is. I'll let you know this weekend. Fo sho! :thumbsup2

Wish the little guy a happy birthday from us (and Jo...I meant to wish Jess a happy birthday and don't remember if I did...If not, will you tell her for us?)
Will do! ;)

I love that commercial and just maybe I have that cd.
You too??

I've never used them before. And BTW, that's a great question. I'm hoping LL finds out for me. :teeth:

You crack me up Tracy. DS5 is TALL however DS2 not so tall. Im sure we are going to do the same for him. Let me know if it works.

I can't believe you're already packed... Well, I can but I'm not even packed for my trip that we leave for in 48 hours! I did just start some though.
:teeth: My family thinks I'm crazy. DH knows me and accepts my ways. I'll pack him in a few weeks. :rotfl:

I totally agree on the potty training. DD turned three last January and we were going to Disney in April. Velcro sides you say? Hmmmm.... I might have to switch. We use Pampers Easy ups right now.

Glad to hear Donald is doing so well. Can't you lock him up until travel time?
:scratchin:
I know I feel bad now about mentioning them but I think she really wants them too
I'll look at my other Walgreens today Jo. I have to run uptown this afternoon, and I know there's one there. :thumbsup2
Still can't believe you're packed are your kids just going around in there underwear for the next 4 weeks
:rotfl: Sadly, I bought all new vacation clothes. Shhhh!! :ssst: don't tell Andy.

Trac[e]y (Don't know if it is with or without the e ) how old is Evan, if you don't mind me asking.
No "e". :) Evan will be 3 on August 1st.

We have given up about all hope of having DS trained before we leave. He seems to do great in the am and then as it gets later in the day he seems to get tired (i.e. in my opinion lazy ). Then for the last 2 days he has been completely dry/clean and hasn't had one accident: I son't think he will be completely trained by our trip, but we are getting closer. Like you I am not going to sweat it, unless he is not trained by the time Kindergarten starts in September, 2008

Evan doesn't start Kinder until 2009, but I want him to go to pre-school next year '08 and he needs to be trained by then. I'm just really tired of the diaper/pull ups. It's getting really gross! :scared:

Hey Janet, I can't remember if you're going to make it to our DIS-meet on the 25th? :confused3

Chiming in here on the potty training. My Evan was 3½ when he was "pee" trained but he didn't start the other until he was 4½. Alec was trained all at once at 3½. Brookie just turned 3 and she goes sometimes, sometimes not, on the potty. We encourage her but don't nag at her because then she will totally not go and then gets constipated. I've found that when they are really ready, they do it.

:lmao: :confused3 ) Anywho, back to topic....

OMG, you're such an '80s child, I know that song! I bet you watch those flashback VH1 specials don't you?

I've got both kids completely packed, with the exception of shoes. They're still wearing their crocs daily, so I can't exactly pack those. All their outfits are washed, bagged and tagged. Looks like I didn't buy Evan enough shorts, so I'll have to do a load or 2 of laundry, which is fine with me. As long as I've got a cocktail in one hand, everything's cake, baby. :thumbsup.

I'm so jealous, you've gotten so much accomplished. Oh well, this time I'm going to make the boys help me pack. Who am I kidding? I'm to anal to let them do it.

What's the point, really.

Hmmm, maybe I should get a few things from GG like water and some sodas.

:woohoo.

Love those Misty Mates. What size did you get? At one time they were selling them at Costco in two packs for an awesome price. I bought 3 packs and so glad I did because I haven't seen them ever since. You'd be surprised at home many strangers standing in line at the parks will look at you longingly hoping you'll give them a little squirt.:rotfl2:

I can't figure out why below my knee is whiter than the rest of my body! :confused3 I tried to photo it, but in the pic, they look the same color.

How weird. Go outside and lay out in the back yard and with some capri pants on so only your calves will get tan.;)

My TA still hasn't gotten back to me about our final documents. Lisa (Castillomom) got her stuff in the mail, but I haven't gotten ours. I know the TA will get the stuff and she'll call me, but I'm impatient, people! :dance3:

Who's your TA? She'd better call you back, I don't think she knows who she's dealing with!;)
