Mentally Preparing: A Focker, A Croc & Waldo hit POFQ! Trip Report Link is UP!

Kind of off topic...:offtopic: But kind of not....

Are lapus just a Disney creation? I'm going to Vegas in August and I was thinking if anywhere else would have them, it would be Vegas... Just wondering if you've ever seen them anywhere else.
I do believe the "Lapu" is a Disney creation. BUT, you can find tropical pineapple drinks in Vegas at the Tropicana Hotel, fo sho! :thumbsup2
Why do we find Waldo stories so entertaining. I laugh at all his antics but I know that if I were you I would have such anxiety with chest pains that I couldn't function!
I find Waldo stories entertaining, too. Well.... actually after the fact it's funny, but at the moment is VERY annoying!

You really make the hat. It's a keeper!
Thanks... now I just have to figure out how to pack it for August....:confused3

Where was that contest at? If they are having annual pass holder contests you need to figure out how to enter!
It was an online contest.... I do think I got the email, but probably deleted it.

I have no idea what you're talking about! :rolleyes1
And your the CO-founder of the Gutter Chicks????:sad2:

I didn't know the castle was only available at the parks! Both of the kids chose to get that one. DD needed a new Sleeping Beauty and we didn't make it back to any Jibbitz after I realized. I don't feel like ordering them right now so she's just walking around with Sleeping Beauty's torso on her shoe. :rotfl:
OMG! Maddie's Sleeping Beauty pulled a Marie Antoinette on us, too!

DH and I both have astigmatisms. I also have hystoplasmosis (something to do with an infection from bird poop since I played in a loft a bunch as a kid).
What??? A bird pooped in your eye??

DS was so excited to get glasses when he was six. He was disappointed that he didn't get them when he was five. I got his clip-ons at Wal-Mart. I had to go to two Wal-Marts to find the right size though. It was the smallest size that they made. DD wants the Princess glasses but I hope she doesn't need any for at least a couple more years.
Oh, thanks.... I'll have to try Wally. I called the eye doctor and of course they don't make the clip-ons for the style Maddie chose.

I ordered the salmon one from the Target website and when we got it she hated it. She complained about it all through our trip last year. She said that it wasn't pink! Then, we stayed late at Epcot one night and DS was really dragging so DH picked up DD and told DS to get in the stroller (he was barely at the weight limit for it). He refused to get in it because he said it was pink! We ended up making him get in it since he was so tired and having trouble walking but the pink argument was driving me crazy!
That's exactly why I bought the Saffron. :lmao:

OMG! That is so cool!
I know! I was laughing because she didn't realize who it was! :rotfl:

Hi DLMama girl! Wow I give you a lota credit for waiting all that time!!!! :surfweb: I am not that patient with lines :upsidedow but glad it was worth it. I loved seeing the pic of the subs....I also remember the 20000 Leagues Under the Sea ride from my early trips to WDW.
Great update! Can't wait for more! ;)

I just got a chance to watch the Nemo video. It looks awesome and so hope that they put that in doen in Florida....So any more planning. You don't have much time left:goodvibes

OMG THIS WAS ON PAGE 2!!!!!:scared1:

OMG!!! I know, I've been slacking. There are so many good trip reports going on right now, I've been neglecting my own PTR!!! But, I'm actually working on my next installment. Just uploading pics and should be up in a bit. :goodvibes

Thanks Mo! Here.... have a Lapu!
lapu.jpg

First and foremost: Have you all heard??? :listen:

The Spice Girls are going on a reunion tour!! :woohoo: Wait... it get's better. Guess where they're kicking off the tour?? Yuppers ... LA, baby!!! :lmao: :rotfl2: I almost crashed my car into a light post today when I heard this, yes a suicide mission my friends. Are they serious?? :sad2:

Onward and upward.....
Well, we got final confirmation on DNeph's deployment to Iraq. He'll be sent out on July 4th. Interesting choice of dates, I thought. But, we pray for his safety and are a little comforted by the fact that he is not on the front lines. He's a helicopter mechanic, so he's behind the scenes really, but still scary. I can't imagine how families of soldiers on the front lines feel. It must be agony awaiting their safe return. R will be there for 15 months. That's a long time away from your family.

With school out, I thought I'd have more time to DIS, but apparently, my kids have other plans for me. I have to keep them entertained 24/7 now and it's not been easy. We spend our mornings doing the normal household things... running errands, cleaning, etc. and our afternoons out in the pool. We're done with Disneyland and any other local theme parks for the summer, so were just preparing for our trip........
Here's Maddie on the last day of school with one of her favorite teachers.

TRupdatepics001.jpg

Ok... so what have I been doing in preparations of our incredible Disney World trip in ... let's see.... :teacher: t-minus 54 days.. not including weekends or holidays...is 39, not including travel day or today... make it.... t-minus 37 days, using FDM, of course!;) So I've been getting our touring plan together with the help of lover boy, TGM and UOG. I prefer TGM day plans and UOG's night time plans. I went on a hunt for the awesome color coded Rolodex covers V used, but came up empty handed. So I had to improvise. I got all our touring plans set up on a spreadsheet and printed it out on colored paper. I found some nifty little clear ID pouches and rings from Wallymart and created this:
TRupdatepics009.jpg

I also read on someone elses TR about kids meals and how they had a hard time finding what their kids liked, so I also made a CS food spreadsheet for each park and put them with the touring plans. This way, when it's meal time, I'll know exactly where we could go for what we wanted, KWIM?

I'm also finishing up our travel notebooks with our itinerary and stuff. I'm just waiting for our travel documents from my TA and then I should be done with them. Here's a sneak peek, for now.

TRupdatepics007.jpg

I've got Evan packed, and Maddie whined about wanting to pack herself. So I let her, knowing full well that I'll have to re-pack her when I get some more ziploc bags from Dollar Tree.

TRupdatepics005.jpg

All the CROCS have arrived, here are Maddie's lavendar scutes... cute, huh?
TRupdatepics002.jpg

And The Enablers Athens.... she didn't like the Caymens, so those went back and were replaced with these:
TRupdatepics003.jpg

I totally forgot to tell you about the coolest hat I found for Evan when I picked up his new stroller. It's awesome and he loves it as much as I do!! That's my boy! :cloud9: Of course we're saving it for WDW.

TRupdatepics006.jpg

We've been doing alot of shopping, picking up odds and ends for the trip. I hit the Dollar Tree and got ponchos, a pop up hamper (yes, I will do laundry there this time :sad2: ) and some other crap. Oh and I found this at Wallymart, too.
TRupdatepics004.jpg

It's an insulated tote bag to stash waters and stuff. It fits perfectly in the basket of the stroller! Thanks to Cathy (twob4him) as she is the one who gave me the idea from her PTR. :thumbsup2

I still have to get the kids their stuff for the plane. I buy little nick nack toys, games, new crayons, etc. Oh and we have to buy a new portable DVD player since ours broke recently. 5 hours is a long time to keep little ones occupied, so we carry alot of provisions! :lmao:

I'm happy to report there's been no drama from the Ducks or the Waldos. They did each paid their trips off this week! :woohoo: Everyone is getting excited and it seems all our conversations lately have been about the trip. My Dnephs, Huey and Dewey keep asking me questions about all the different ride and which park has what and who's riding with who on what. It's all very amusing to watch the magic start to unfold. Everyone is freaking out about the heat and humidity. On hot days, the boys will call and say "Aunt Tracy, is it as hot as today in Florida?" :lmao: Boy are they in for a surprise......:rolleyes1

That's all for now, guys! :wizard:

Love the Hat... where did you find it...Got to have one

Also I obviously need to step it up a notch on the planning as I am way behind YOU:scared1:

/
I tried to get the scutes at Orlando airport while waiting a million hours for our plane...and they had none small enough for me...apparently...tiny people don't need shoes. *hmmmph*

OMG T my planning looks absolutely rubbish compared to your's, I can't believe you're near enough packed with just under 2 months to go :rotfl2: I'm going to do the CS menu thing too but I'm keeping an eye on any new updates!

:sad2:
:lmao: That is so hilarious. Whoever gives them career advice must be fired IMMEDIATELY!!
Well, we got final confirmation on DNeph's deployment to Iraq. He'll be sent out on July 4th.
Please send our best to him and I will keep him and your family in our prayers. Thank him for us for all he is doing for everyone.
With school out, I thought I'd have more time to DIS, but apparently, my kids have other plans for me. I have to keep them entertained 24/7 now and it's not been easy.
Oh I feel your pain. DS5 graduated preschool on June 18th and it has been a crazy game of what to do today. We are NEVER home and it is seriously getting in the way of my Dis time. These kids just dont understand:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You are one crafty momma:thumbsup2 Nice job!!
I've got Evan packed, and Maddie whined about wanting to pack herself. So I let her, knowing full well that I'll have to re-pack her when I get some more ziploc bags from Dollar Tree.
TRupdatepics005.jpg

You are not kiddin are ya???Holy cow!!You go girl..
I will admit I tried to be more organized like you for our Oct trip. What I did was leave all our luggage open on the floor of our closet and then just throw in some stuff as I get it and start adding clothes and such. Sounded like a good idea to me......well there they sit with stuffed animals and cars in them as the kids apparently love to play in them....mind you they are in my closet. And mommy has not added anything:sad1: DH wants to know why he has to walk around them to get in and about the closet when I havent started to pack yet:rolleyes: .

We've been doing alot of shopping, picking up odds and ends for the trip. I hit the Dollar Tree and got ponchos, a pop up hamper (yes, I will do laundry there this time :sad2: ) and some other crap.
I am going to steel that idea..Im going to get hamper today and it will be the 1st thing in our luggage:thumbsup2 ...I never thought of that.I however REFUSE to do laundry on vaction(only going for 9 days)as I do 2-3 loads a day when Im home:eek:
5 hours is a long time to keep little ones occupied, so we carry alot of provisions! :lmao:
Our portable DVD player is our saviour..with 2 boys and lots of energy 1 hr is a long time to keep them occupied!!!We take it with when we goto dinner at home and in WDW and we dont even know we have 2 kids with us;)

Oh I just deleted the scutes, but wanted to say Im thinking of getting them for the boys,I remember you saying Evan has them. Does he like them??Are they comfy for the kids, any complaints????Right now they are so in love with those cayman mickey crocs but I thought the scutes where really cute.

First and foremost: Have you all heard??? :listen:

The Spice Girls are going on a reunion tour!!
WHAT is the world coming to?!:rotfl:

Well, we got final confirmation on DNeph's deployment to Iraq. He'll be sent out on July 4th. Interesting choice of dates, I thought.
Very interesting. I'm glad to ehar he won't be in the front lines, but sad he's going nonetheless.

Gosh, that's only like, 3 weeks, right?! I do love me some FDM :thumbsup2

I prefer TGM day plans and UOG's night time plans.
::yes:: Me, too!

Oooo, I like your method much better!:thumbsup2

I've got Evan packed,
Okay, now you're scaring me a little... ;)

All the CROCS have arrived, here are Maddie's lavendar scutes... cute, huh?
TRupdatepics002.jpg
Adorable!! has she tried them out? What's the verdict? I'm thinking about getting DS some.

"Aunt Tracy, is it as hot as today in Florida?" :lmao: Boy are they in for a surprise......:rolleyes1
IMNSHO, better to let it be a "surprise" :rolleyes1

Does Jo know about the Spice Girls Reunion???? They are her favorite group, you know!

I loved your update! Such adorable stuff to take with you and very organized! Definitely getting the two green thumbs up!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Subscribing, just learning how to navigate this board. I have been on for a while, but just starting to post. I read your first trip report and loved it.

You see we once had a WALDO, he took his last Disney trip with us in May 2003. Only on that trip, he was confined to a wheelchair. He was my Grandfather, and I had been on 18 disney trips with him. I know my mom felt like you did on ever trip. We still laugh at some of his craziness when we are at the parks even now.

Kim

Love the Hat... where did you find it...Got to have one.
Also I obviously need to step it up a notch on the planning as I am way behind YOU:scared1:
I got the hat at Babies R Us. They had tons of them in infant size and toddler size. I've got to go back and get Maddie one, as she wants one, too. :goodvibes
I tried to get the scutes at Orlando airport while waiting a million hours for our plane...and they had none small enough for me...apparently...tiny people don't need shoes. *hmmmph*
Well that blows. I'm not too keen on the adult scutes as they don't have the back strap. JMO! ;)
OMG T my planning looks absolutely rubbish compared to your's, I can't believe you're near enough packed with just under 2 months to go. I'm going to do the CS menu thing too but I'm keeping an eye on any new updates!
Jo, your a TGMer, your planning should be "practically perfect in everyway", no? :lmao:
That is so hilarious. Whoever gives them career advice must be fired IMMEDIATELY!!
Seriously! They need to learn "When your dead, lie down!" :rotfl2: Maybe Posh is bored and needs something to do. :confused3
Oh I feel your pain. DS5 graduated preschool on June 18th and it has been a crazy game of what to do today. We are NEVER home and it is seriously getting in the way of my Dis time. These kids just dont understand
OMG, T! We're always home these days. It's just too hot to get in and out of the car. I won't go anywhere after 1pm.

Martha, Martha, Martha
You are one crafty momma Nice job!!
I totally read this as "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!":lmao:

You are not kiddin are ya???Holy cow!!You go girl..
Nope! And guess who's jumping on the early packing bandwagon.....The Enabler! :rotfl:

I will admit I tried to be more organized like you for our Oct trip. What I did was leave all our luggage open on the floor of our closet and then just throw in some stuff as I get it and start adding clothes and such.
I just used empty drawers in our closets and just keep filling them with stuff and then started packing eventually when the drawers started overflowing.

I am going to steel that idea..Im going to get hamper today and it will be the 1st thing in our luggage:thumbsup2 ...I never thought of that. I however REFUSE to do laundry on vaction(only going for 9 days)as I do 2-3 loads a day when Im home
I only have to do a few loads, mostly for Andy and myself. I'll need shorts washed and Andy will need some shirts and shorts washed.

Oh I just deleted the scutes, but wanted to say Im thinking of getting them for the boys,I remember you saying Evan has them. Does he like them??Are they comfy for the kids, any complaints????Right now they are so in love with those cayman mickey crocs but I thought the scutes where really cute.
Ok, here's the truth. Evan loves his Mickey crocs the best. It's so hard to peel those things off his feet! But, he'll wear the scutes if I hide the Mickey's and I've had no complaints. Maddie loves all her CROCS and has them lined up and she rotates them, wearing a different pair everyday. :confused3 Now her Scutes are her favs!

WHAT is the world coming to?!
I don't know... but I'm think of buying tickets. :rolleyes1

Gosh, that's only like, 3 weeks, right?! I do love me some FDM
I KNOW!! You should totally patent FDM, V! :lmao:

Oooo, I like your method much better!
Really? I liked you method better! ;)

Okay, now you're scaring me a little...
You're not surprised, are you?

Adorable!! has she tried them out? What's the verdict? I'm thinking about getting DS some.
She loves them. We give them :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Just FYI- the back strap does not come with size over 10/11.

Does Jo know about the Spice Girls Reunion???? They are her favorite group, you know!
I heard Jo's a backup dancer. She did win the "So you think you can Dance?" British version. :lmao:

Subscribing, just learning how to navigate this board. I have been on for a while, but just starting to post. I read your first trip report and loved it.
Hi Kim! :welcome: I'm glad you loved Waldo's first adventure! It's great to have you here! :goodvibes
Aww!!! I'm happy that you have wonderful memories of your Waldo! :cloud9: You know no family is complete with out at least 1 Waldo of their very own!

Spice Girls! :lmao: Ah, too funny. Love all your new purchases Tracy!
Funny, huh? I couldn't believe it when I heard it on the radio. :sad2:

First and foremost: Have you all heard??? :listen:

Prayers going up for your nephew and family

First and foremost: Have you all heard???

With school out, I thought I'd have more time to DIS, but apparently, my kids have other plans for me. I have to keep them entertained 24/7 now and it's not been easy.

Your so lucky!! Enjoy it, I know I would be :cloud9:

Great idea, love the cards, now for TGM, I just have not been able to get into, maybe once the January/February hours are out I'll be all  but right now I am not feeling mr.mike

First and foremost: Have you all heard???

All the CROCS have arrived, here are Maddie's lavendar scutes... cute, huh?
TRupdatepics002.jpg

And The Enablers Athens.... she didn't like the Caymens, so those went back and were replaced with these:
TRupdatepics003.jpg

The scutes are to cute I wish they had them with the strap for older kids, my kids are almost in adult sizes:scared1:

How do you like the Athens, I really am thinking about getting some, I cant get caymans with my big old feet, besides I would be setting myself up for some serious family clowning

First and foremost: Have you all heard???

I still have to get the kids their stuff for the plane. I buy little nick nack toys, games, new crayons, etc. Oh and we have to buy a new portable DVD player since ours broke recently. 5 hours is a long time to keep little ones occupied, so we carry alot of provisions! :lmao:

Thats why I like the red eye overnight flight, we all knock out and doesn't even seem like a long flight. If only they had an overnight return flight

First and foremost: Have you all heard???

Everyone is getting excited and it seems all our conversations lately have been about the trip.

 It's finally hit them its almost here. Wow they are in for a shocker, we havent even had real hot hot days yet.

DLM: I love what you did with the itenerary. If you don't mind, I might steal this idea.

Janet

Hey we got ourselves an update!:cool1:

Hey you got a problem with the Spice Girls? I plan on sitting front row center... NOT! Can we say last decade's trash?

I'll keep your nephew in my thoughts:grouphug:

Now those itinerary sheets are the cat's meow. Sorry V, but I prefer DLMama's, I may have to steal, oops, borrow that idea.

As for packing early, there are certain items I don't even bother unpacking, so technically I am always in some state of packed. I am kind of freaking out about packing for February, I'll be watching the weather forecast right up until we leave. I will need a little of everything I think.

I love the kids scutes, but I am not crazy about the adult ones. I posted this in V's report but, I just got me some Patras and so far I love them. Hoping to test drive them in October.

That's great that everyone is starting to get psyched about the trip. I am really looking forward to the post trip report. Can't wait to hear about Waldo:love:

I'm envious of how organized you are. I tried to be organized but I didn't go so far as writing up a list of everything and the order we would do it or anything like that. When we got to the Magic Kingdom I told DH the things we should do first and we needed to get a fast pass right away for something, anything. At first I was thinking POTC then I noticed on the map that it wasn't a fast pass ride. I pointed that out and DH got all snippy and said, "What do you do all day on that message board?" Me thinks I'm found out!

Everyone is freaking out about the heat and humidity. On hot days, the boys will call and say "Aunt Tracy, is it as hot as today in Florida?" :lmao: Boy are they in for a surprise......

Just bring them up to the oven known as Bakersfield for a day.... then they'll be glad!

Honestly, though... right now, Florida's worse with that humidity.... It sucks the life right out of you!

It is taking every fiber of my being not to watch the Nemo subs video.... I'm waiting until I get to go back to DL in Sept... I was soooooo tempted to stop over today while driving home from San Diego - it took a LOT to resist the temptation!
