I need help - ideas for what to get he hard to buy for husband who buys himself anything he wants when he wants it.... What are the men asking for this year?

Mine asked for dumbbells and gym equipment - I got him a set of 35Lb rubber ones...and then I get him a set of resistance bands, so he has some variety...he also wants a pull up bar, but we're negotiating that one b/c I don't want to ruin a door frame...and my spouse isn't handy, so he would do so with a not ideal install:)...

Get a pullup bar that mounts over the door frame. You just literally hang it up there, no hardware needed. My husband has had a pullup bar the entire 20 years we have been married. No damage done to any door frames. You can wrap the parts that come into contact with the door frame (the sides) with fabric or athletic tape if you wish.

Like this one:

Yeah, see most of those still ruin it when you have crappy doorframes like my townhome and a spouse who pulls with more than 300lbs of tension...at least when you see Amazon write ups and pics...

I told him I want the freestanding one...but he has to clean out a place for it...thus, negotiation:)...

Mine is the same way. Buys himself toys and Lego sets all year long. He recently bought a couple $$$ Lego sets and I already told him "that's your birthday and Christmas gifts." He has a birthday in December.

He will get a few small gifts to have something to open. A new travel coffee mug, a wireless charging dock for his phone and smartwatch, some expensive liquor that he likes, a set of highball glasses for his bar.

This is what’s on my to buy list for hubby:
AirPods Pro
Swiss Army Knife
Surface Pro
DJI Mini 2
Godiva hot chocolate
Some books/movies he likes but doesn’t already own

My dh never asks for anything and the hobbies he's in to require specific things that I could never pick out on my own. I stick with more practical things that I know he'll use but not really think to get himself.
This year I got him a phone sanitizer. He has always been kind of a germaphobe so this is perfect for him.
We do a lot of campfires and cut our own wood so I got him a battery powered compact saw he can take it in to the woods easily and cut branches. I also got him the higher power battery to go with it. We have a ton of the other batteries but none of them are the HP ones.
I also got him these adaptor things so that he can hang all his battery powered tools up.
A fire poker that stokes the fire
Blackbeard fire starters
Second set of drill bits and sockets to leave at our other property. He carries his tools back and forth with him but always seems to leave the bit or socket he needs at home.
Gourmet beef jerky
Dark chocolate
Hand and feet warmers
Craft beer advent calendar
Not very exciting but he'll appreciate and use everything.

Some good ideas here - thank you. My hubs already has a drone - but said he wants a light for it - but I wouldn't know where to start finding something he'd like. His hobby is an expensive one - Photography - I usually just end up getting him a B&H Gift Card or an Adorama Gift Card - but I hate to keep doing that for every occasion. Now that we have a little one - I'd prefer to just focus our spending on him, but I know hubs will get me something anyway - so I'm hoping to find that perfect idea. Thank you for the replies already!

Both DH and I don't need anything and if we want something we generally go buy it. So, we just do stocking stuffer stuff for each other. Not going to buy something just to buy something. And he is horrible to buy for (and he says the same about me). Rather spend the $ on my college kids or use the $ for travelling.

Roku
Weather Tech floormats
Surround sound bar and sub woofer

But O, I forgot we're not supposed to get each other anything. :confused3 :rotfl2:

My husband is happiest when no one buys him anything at all..seriously. However, after using a small excavator a few days ago, I'm pretty sure he would be very excited to receive one of those for Christmas. He was like a 5 year old surrounded by toys when the rental was dropped off on Monday. The closest he'll get is a toy version now.

I really don't want to receive gifts - I have a hard time thinking of things I want myself, so I can't imagine how difficult that would be for someone else to do for me.

I've been given a charitable contribution in my name, which I really enjoyed.

One of my favorite was when I was given a physical card from the charitable organization showing that the amount of money that was donated was used to purchase a goat for a family in need overseas. That was the best gift I received that year.

After I bought him a poloton (which he doesn't know about) he told me he'd love a garmin watch for golfing, measures distance etc. He never tells me he wants anything. I also got him a phone santizier, new wallet etc so not getting garmin. he can buy it with $$ from his parents or it'll wait for next birthday!I overspent this year on everyone, had too much time to order online.

me, I'm getting a polywood chair for the deck that I've wanted.

My husband and I don't exchange gifts which makes it so much easier. For my dad, this is the third year I am getting him a flannel shirt from Lands End for Christmas. He really likes those, I think they look really nice, they are high quality, and they aren't something he would have bought himself. This is never a surprise as DS 25 picks it out, but I do the Apple Upgrade program for him as his main Christmas present each year, so his annual Christmas gift is the latest and greatest iPhone. He's really into tech and photography, so this is super fun for him - his favorite toy. Seems kind of extravagant to me, but that's what I have been doing ever since they introduced that program, and it's a gift that is highly used/loved/appreciated. I typically will get him one other little thing too, so he has something to open. In non Covid years is was usually theatre tickets, but I'm doing weather tech floor liners for his car.
