We have been considering using memory maker for the first time, we have always used our own camera and asked people to take family photographs with it. So my question is, is the memory maker good value for money? We have booked for chef mickeys for breakfast, not so scary Halloween party and will buy a few ride photographs along the way :yay:

We've been debating the same thing, I think we are going to book it. Will be great to have some family pictures with us all in and they take loads of photos with the characters rather than the one or two they take with your camera. It works out about £110 and having had photos done in center parcs last year that was something like £350+ for the disc which was just taken in a studio rather than two weeks worth of holiday photos. We just plan on doing disney as well so plenty of chance to get our money's worth!

If you generally buy every ride photo and have at least a couple of character meals it will pay for itself. All the rest is a bonus really but don't forget you have to pay to get the park photos printed back in the UK. We have had photo pass once a few years ago and are going for MM this next trip. My son is 16 and says he doesn't want to come with us to WDW again (he's been about 10 times) so I want to capture what may be his last trip :)

Stupid question but as you go around the parks is it obvious where it can be used?

Every time a Disney photographer takes a picture of you they swipe your MB and you've used it. It will work at all ride and meal photos if you get it swiped too. The Disney photographers are at all character meet and greets in the parks and at loads of other places too in the parks. They wear stripy shirts and wear big cameras around their necks. They are pretty obvious :) They are in the water parks too. Clearly at the bottom of some slides but also in other less obvious places e.g blizzard beach snow patrol area. They will approach you of they get good shots of your kids playing there so you can register your photos.

Thanks, we have been having a chat and think as we will purchase ride and character meal photos that we will give it a try :-)

Just so you know the photo at Chef Mickeys is just a group photo with the Chef Mickey statue, none are taken with the characters.

I will post a photo later as they are on my computer so you can see what you are getting. It used to be you bought a print but they no longer do the print packages at all.

Without having any character photos last year - we ended up with just under 300 photos on our memory maker account ! Def worth the money IMHO :)

Sounds almost too good to be true... Is the disc posted to you on your return or is it just an online account you log in to as I seem to remember PP+ (?) being?

yes it was great , the water park pics were unexpected and it was unlikely we would have had any otherwise they were in the wave pools and even along the lazy river

plus we got lots of magic shots with characters

i am so glad we got it means u can capture everything i have been caught out too many times with flat camera battrey , full memory card etc

is this a new thing i havent paid for any of our ride photos printing off?

Hi, this is my first post, so bare with me. I purchased the MM for our trip to Disney Last October. I found it was worth every penny and will do it every trip now. Love getting all our ride photos and videos with the suspense of not knowing what they look like, you can find out if you sign in, but I found it more fun not knowing.
You get your ride photos, videos, castle, spaceship earth (all the signature focal points in each park), outside rides, with added character animations, general character photos added in, MNSSHP photos and the list goes on!
Our added bonus was my boyfriend at the time proposed to me in front on Cinderella's Castle and we had 2 photographers take over 200 photos in that 10 minutes!
You'll love it and I doubt you'll go back!

MM is all digital and you download your photos.

You can pay extra for a disk but probably not worth it!

No the disc isn't included and I didn't bother purchasing it either, especially at the price Disney wanted! Just make sure you save it on your computer and a portable hard drive for back up!

Also I left it till the 4 days before I purchased it so that Disney didn't have my money the whole time before I went :)

The other great thing about it is that you haven't got to queue at the ride photo tills like you used too if you wanted to purchase the photo, it's all automatically put onto your magic band, just like magic :)

Fun have on your magical trip!

I have just purchased it. We had the photo pass last year and loved looking at the photos when we got back. There are some very special memories captured and it saves you viewing your trip through a camera lens.

Remember it is cheaper to buy it in advance. I can't quite recall what the advance period is for the cheaper price though sorry.....

Sounds great. I appear to be hijacking this thread somewhat- sorry!
May I ask one more question lol?
Will not having magic bands complicate using MM? As we are staying offsite we won't have bands so does that mean we have to speak to a cast member after each ride etc. so our photos can be added to our account?

TBH related but slightly off on a tangent- I have been considering purchasing a MB simply because I'm a Disney parks nerd and want to try out the new technology... Is making the most out of the MM just the excuse I've been looking for?

Thanks everyone. we have a number of things planned for this trip and the more info we have the more we've decided it will be worth the money. We're very excited that you now get ride video as well as some photos :yay:.

MB aren't necessary for using the MM, you'll be given a card. However I have to say after using the MB for the first time last year, it made everything sooo easy! Bare in mind I stayed at disney when I used them. Your fastpass, dining reservations, MM and park entrance will still be all on there just not your room key as you'll be staying offsite. I'm all for the MB and I was hesitant when it was announced.

Either way, have fun and enjoy your magical trip :)

I've got a MB and been sent a card as well. It shows the MM on the MDE when I log in but does anyone know how I get it on the MB??
