Howdy!
Hopefully someone knows or can point me to a thread where this is discussed. We always go with another family and would split the cost photo pass and then just order 2 CD's once we got home.

Can you do the same with Memory Maker? Looks like maybe only the family that bought memory maker would bet the ride photos? Everything is elctronic from what it looks like....no more CD ordering. That shouldn't be a problem as we could always put the files on a thumb drive and transfer over....etc....

ANy help in differnce of what I can and can not do with MM vs PP would be greatly appreciated.

I am really not up on technology and when I've called and asked questions about the Memory Maker I used the speaker phone feature so my husband (The IT guy) can hear everything. From what I understand, the different between PhotoPass and Memory Maker is that with PhotoPass you buy the phots (the ones you choose) @ $15 a piece. The MM, all the photos are included (and also with some of the ride pics like Buzz Lightyear and Splash Mountain). There is a CD that can be purchased for $29.99. Why couldn't you buy two under whose ever name it's connected to? Or just buy one and copy? Or download? I thought that buying the CD was the best thing to do but my husband said not really. The way he would download them would be easier, better and less expensive. And yes, it can be connected to your magic band. Just read the fine print about when to buy. There's a deadline to get the $50 off before your trip.

What exatly is a memory maker? I read the option on the Disney site, but im trying to figure out how $150 is worth it for some pictures. are pictures taken when you are on many of the rides such as the type people get on keychains in other parks, or is this all about when you meet characters in parks/dining. ive never been, and am unsure how it works.

It's both. There are PhotoPass photographers (PhotoPass is the name of the photo-taking service; Memory Maker is the name of this particular product) at various locations around the parks (including at character meet and greets), there are rides where your picture is taken, and there are certain dining experiences where your picture is taken (although generally not with a character), and these are all included with Memory Maker. The more pictures you have taken, the more worth it it is, because if you were to buy the pictures individually, it would cost $15 a picture. Did you see this link?:

Looking for insight on why we are only able to download the last 45 pics from our trip?? We have memory maker and the total pics on our file is 212. ??? So confused. And the memory maker office is closed today so no answers until tomor unless someone here can help.

There is also just the photo pass Archive CD. From my understanding, this is all the photos still, but not the ride photos. I do think it is confusing to figure out how the Memory Maker process works vs the photo pass archive CD. You can get the CD cheaper though if you don't care for the ride photos.

Immediately after you have experienced a participating attraction, please visit the attraction’s Sales Center and link the photo to your Disney account. You can link the photo using any MagicBand or card linked to your account—including Memory Maker cards and Disney PhotoPass Cards.

Attraction photos can only be linked to your Disney account if Memory Maker is assigned to you. Your family and friends cannot link attraction photos to their Disney account.

So this is confusing to me.
It says any magic band/card linked to the account can link an attraction photo THEN it says only the person assigned to the account can link the attraction photo.

Well....which is it? Anyone or only the accounts assigned person?

Just talked to Disney on the phone.
Friends and family assigned to the account can link attraction photos but only
I (the assigned admin of our Memory Maker) can actually download the pictures.
So I will have to download the pictures they want and give to them.

Hope that clears it up. It does for me anyway. :cool1:

This is so helpful. I wasn't sure if I should get MM wondering if it was worth it or not. I am leaning towards yes I will get it we have bought ride photos and never really took other photos because it was to expensive . this will let us do it all..

When I went in 2008, We did Photo Pass pictures. When I got home I was able to make a photo book with all the Photo Pass pictures and my own pictures that I took. Can you still do this?

I can see on the photo pass website that you can make a photo book on the photo pass, but what about the Memory maker?

Thanks!

Memory maker is just a product that they sell that lets you download photos. PhotoPass is the name of the service that lets you take photos in the park. You can still make photobooks none of that has change since 2008.
