Memory maker vs. HEA fireworks dessert party?

Hi all.

2nd trip, first ever vacation with only myself and my 9yo DD. We are staying for 4 nights. Will be doing all 4 parks, no waterparks this time. We have the dining plan but only doing a couple of character meals (Bon Voyage breakfast and Tusker house). DD will want to do some character meets beyond that for sure, but probably not as many as last time when she was 7.

The memory maker is quite expensive for us since we are Canadian. Seems to me that maybe it isn't worth it this time? We did have it last time and liked it but we were there for 8 days and had a lot of time to stop and ask for photos: this is a short trip and we'll be motoring I expect. But I don't want a whole bunch of photos of just my kid.

Meanwhile, she is fairly short and the fireworks party (garden viewing) would be good from that perspective as I can't lift her anymore really (plus she adores dessert): if I booked that it would be a special surprise to celebrate. The trip is to celebrate my finishing my degree (and she has been amazingly tolerant throughout so it is a reward for her too). Plus it's significantly cheaper.

What do you think?

Sounds like you're already sold on the Fireworks Dessert Party. You'll take a bunch of photos of your own, right? Sounds like you and she deserve a big congratulations party! Treat yourself (and her) You've earned it! Bon Appetite!

Do both. My guess is you've spent some money on the trip. We all do and the photos are always a great way to remember you trip. What's another $150. Having the pictures with the both of you will be priceless.

You can also see if you can find a memory maker share, so you join up with several other groups who are visiting within the same month and all pitch in to save money. I don't know if they do the share groups much on the dis but there should be a Facebook group for whenever your trip is and you can connect with people that way!

Also, if you don't want to splurge on Memory Maker, any PhotoPass photographer will be happy to take a picture for you, using your own camera. There is no charge for this courtesy.

The thing is that it is now $170 US with advance purchase (just went up). That's $222 Cdn at the moment for 4 1/2 days.

I have thought of that but I feel very uncomfortable having complete strangers with access to photos of my daughter. If it were people I knew I would jump at the chance though.

Would they take it with my phone? That is an idea. Hmm.
