Hi
First is there a MM sticky?

My question
a colleague and I both have trips booked.
Him: 22-26 July
Me: 30-05 Sept

Due to large gap, can we share one MM pass??. Including ride shots ( read some where this is not possible). I know people share, curious how espec. With different dates. And also hasnt Disney caught on and somehow made changes to stop this ??

Any links to previous threads with how-tos. Would be appreciated

Thanks

I think that gap is too long. When I did a share we were all going in Dec and right around the same time of each other. I think it was a 3 week span of when the members of the share were going.

im doing something similar with my girl friends brother. from what i asked on the boards you have 30 days from when he activates memory maker to use it yourself. so if he gets it, goes on his trip and then comes home and activates memory maker to download his pictures you have 30 days from when he activates it to use it. the pictures disappear after 45 days so i would have him wait a bit before activating it.

You will not be able to share as the time span is too great.

All photos only stay in the system for 45 days. When you "activate" Memory Maker you get all photos that are taken 3 days after purchase (unless you buy in the parks) but only have 30 days to adjust and download. That does not change the 45 day window though. So even if your Brother waited until the very last day to "activate" MM for his 1st day of photos the MM would expire on August 21, thus not covering your trip.

from what people on this board and disney themselves told me when you activate memory maker as long as it was previously bought you are able to download all the pictures in your photo pass. and that if you are going multiple dates or have family going that if you wait to active it they have 30 days from when it is acitvated

Sorry I calculated the brother's photos at 30 days instead of 45. The brother's photos would drop out of the system the same day the sister came home from their trip. So if the brother activated it around the August 17th or 18th you are right that it would work but it would be quite the hassle and only give each person a week or two to edit photos and download them.

hey i didnt say it was ideal only that it was possible :earboy2:

You can purchase a 15 day extension to the photo expiration date for $20 in PhotoPass. So if your colleague purchased the extension, his pictures would begin to expire on Sept 20. If he activated Memory Maker on Sept. 20 to download all of his pictures. He would then have until Oct. 20 to download your pictures. We just did this for a trip where I went at the end of Feb. and my sister went in the middle of May. I was able to download all of her ride photos and Chef Mickey photos.

He doesn't have to wait until Sept. 20 to download. He only needs to wait until mid August. Once he downloads he activates the MM. His first picture will expire on Sept. 4 (45 days from the day it was taking assuming it was taken on July 22) so he just needs to download before this date. Once MM is active you can add photos (ie get more photo pass pictures) for 30 days. Those pictures added will expire 45 days from the date taken.

July 22 - First photo taken
August 15 - he activates the MM by downloading photos (a date I just picked... no significance. MM is now good for 30 days to add photos)
Sept 4 - 1st pictures expire (45 days after 1st photo is taken)
Sept 14 - 30 days end... no more photos can be added and all photos need to be downloaded
