How many reservations can you link to a Memory Maker? We are travelling with extended family and I was wondering if we can all be linked to one Memory Maker is our reservations are linked.

Memory Maker is linked to an MDX account.

Any person who is listed or linked to that 1 specific MDX account will have their photos uploaded to that account.

Everything PhotoPass and Memory Maker

In other words, you will see the photos of everyone in your friends and family list.

Every member of your extended family needs to be connected through My Disney Experience Friends and Family to the member whom has the Memory Maker. That family member will be able to see, edit, and download all of the photos.

and, to help and old guy like me understand better, each room full of family members (even though they are linked to me) need to pay for their own memory maker?

That is, we will be in 3 separate rooms but all linked to me....EACH room need to pay?

I've read stuff and that's my understanding of it

Only 1 person needs to pay for Memory Maker and everyone linked to that MDX account benefits thanks to that 1 person.

No, not at all. One person from one of the rooms has to pay for a Memory Maker. Let's just say that person is you. So, you pay for your Memory Maker, you log into My Disney Experience, and send friends and family requests to each member of your family. They then log into their respective My Disney Experience accounts, and accept your request, and you are set. You will then be able to see, edit, and download every family member's photos.

If you need more in depth help, why not post in the Everything PhotoPass and Memory Maker thread, and I will be happy to give as much help as you might require.

But they have to pay for photopass separately, correct?
If they did, that defeats the 1 person only concept of Memory Maker.

You may want to choose a tech savvy person to purchase and be in charge of the Memory Maker account.

@Tomh can help you in the thread he linked above.

PhotoPass simply is the name for Disney's photography service. There is NO charge for PhotoPass. Anyone can have photos taken, as many as they like, and no one needs to pay anything for that service.

MemoryMaker is a service which allows you to download all of the photos that you have had taken using the PhotoPass service. Memory Maker is not free, you have to pay for it. One MemoryMaker can be purchased by one person, and used to download all of the photos taken using the PhotoPass service for the entire family. It will cover family members staying in different rooms. It will cover family members staying at different resorts, on different reservations, even family members that are staying at hotels, villas, or houses outside of Disney. It will cover family members that arrive at Disney before you, and family members that stay at Disney after you leave. It will cover family members in two different parks on the same day. As a family, you will only need to pay for one MemoryMaker. As I offered before, if you come post in the Everything PhotoPass and MemoryMaker thread, I will give you any, and all help you may need.

so, theoretically, I could link 200 people and we could all share the photos?

And thanks for the tech savvy suggestion....looking to make sense for my brain full of spider webs

I don’t know if there is a limit to the number of friends and family you can have.

There is one factor you might be missing. Let’s say I purchase Memory Maker. My brother does not purchase Memory Maker. I send him a friends and family request. He accepts.

When he goes into his My Disney Experience account, he will see his photos and my photos - but everything he sees will have some kind of watermark on it, meaning something imprinted on it so that he can’t really enjoy it. That’s because he did not pay for Memory Maker.

When I go to my own My Disney Experience account, I can see his photos and my photos, and they look fine (no watermark) because I paid for Memory Maker. I can download all of the photos and save them on my computer. That takes a lot of time and effort. I can then text them or email them or use various other methods of getting the photos (without the watermark) to him, but I’m doing all the work.

Because the OPs question has been answered and links to the PhotoPass / Memory Maker Sticky have been posted, closing.
