Hey, does MM kick in from the day you purchase it or from the first day you use it? I bought MM a few days ago but won't be using it until mid-August. Will it still be good?

Yes, it'll be good. There are deadlines for downloading the pictures, though, so make sure you understand all of that when you come home. Enjoy your trip. :mickeyjum

Last I read, you can use it any time within 30 days of ACTIVATION, not purchase. It will not be available for activation until after 3 days of purchase though. I don't know the deletion time but download the ones you want when you get home from your trip and you will be fine. Have fun, I hope you capture that perfect picture!

Thanks, I know about how long I have to download the pics. I just needed to be sure that it would still be good when we go. I'm going to activate it 3 days before we arrive so all our pics will be available from the first photo.

I'm confused. Why would it need activating before you go? Does it take a while for the pictures to show up?

If you purchase at the discounted price, it takes 3 days before the pictures will be included in your MM download. This is to prevent people from buying the day of their trip at a discount. When I went in November, there was no "activation" to do, we just scanned our bands with the photographers and the pictures showed up in our accounts. I'm not sure if that's changed or not.

A CM over the phone said if you pre purchase you activate once your first pic is scanned to your account.

So as long as I purchased it at least three days prior to the first picture being taken, all the pics will be available?

Q. How do I start using Memory Maker?

A. If you are already at Walt Disney World Resort, all you need to do is enjoy the moment and have fun. When you see a Disney PhotoPass location—or select attraction and dining locations—simply ask the photographer or Cast Member to link the photos to your Disney account with a touch of your MagicBand or card—including Memory Maker cards and Disney PhotoPass Cards.

Through MyDisneyPhotoPass.com and the My Disney Experience Mobile App, you can download your Memory Maker photos right away or you can wait until you get home and download them all at once.

If you purchased Memory Maker at the advance purchase price, photos taken within 3 days of the date of purchase will not be included in Memory Maker and must be purchased separately.

If you purchased Memory Maker in the park, you may need to link Memory Maker to your Disney account before you can begin downloading photos. You may also need to link any MagicBands or cards that you used at the Disney PhotoPass locations to view and download your photos.

Hope this helps...excited about using mine and being in a couple photos this time!

Im curious about something related to Memory Maker. If you have a Magic Band, each ride photo is automatically added to your account because they automatically scan your Magic Band when you're on each ride, right? what if you don't have a Magic Band? what happens then?
