Memory Maker Lines this week?

How bad are lines for the memory maker photographers this week? If I purchase it, will I need to wait to get photos in front of MK, on Main Street, etc. I know the characters will have long lines, so I am only talking about "scenic" pictures.

Also, do they have photographers at Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace and Holiday Dine with Minnie?

I didn't think most of the character meals had photographers anymore. I know that 1900 Park Fare and Tusker House did away with theirs. I wouldn't think Chef Mickey's or CP would have them either. Not sure about Minnie's though, since it's kind of special.

Crystal Palace definitely doesn't have a photographer. I think Minnie's holiday thing does - pretty sure you get a Santa Goofy photo.

I've only been to DHS and Epcot. At each of those parks there were lines at each photopass photographer. I think guests with MM, plus annual passes now including PP, plus the holiday crowds add to the line. Shortest line was a walk up one at Germany with the nut cracker. Longest I saw was Santa Goofy at DHS.

The photographer they have at Chef Mickey’s is not with the characters but with your dining party. They will call you when your table is ready and right before they seat you they will take you to the side to get the photo taken. All photos with the characters you are on your own to take photos.

Thanks all for the responses! Lovethattink- did you notice how bad the lines were at the park entrance, or in the streets in DHS (where there were no characters). Sorry for being a pest, I just hate to drop $150 and then not really use it because of long lines.

They weren't just walk up. But they had 3 PP on Hollywood Blvd when we walked by. I'd say a few families in each line.

At Epcot, the PP at the entry topiary e's had quite a line. We kept walking.

We were there a couple weeks ago and never waited more than a few minutes for any pics that weren't with characters. My wife loves her pics too so we had a lot of them taken. MM was definitely worth it for us, plus you get all your ride pics with it too.

The lines haven't been too bad for the photographers. One thing I noticed that should help is in areas such as on Main Street in front of the castle, lots of people stop at the very first photographer but if you head on down the street a bit the lines got shorter and shorter. Try for the third or fourth one for no lines or super short lines. Santa Goofy was also in Animal Kingdom and his line wasn't too bad. You do get a picture with Santa Goofy if you're doing dinner at Miinies Holiday and Dine the other characters are on your own though.

We dined a few times at Contempo last week, and saw Pluto posing with the plate upon entrance for the dinner meal. But that is not the norm. It is usually just your family in fron tof the chef Mickey's plate.

We were there earlier this week. I didn't find the lines bad at all. The longest was the line to take a pic in front of the big tree/soldiers in Osborne lights. We waited a while for that one, but the lights made it an enjoyable wait! LOL!

It seems like at Chef Mickeys the Mickey statue was taken away at the end of October. We had friends who dined there around Oct 20 and had the statue and we dined there Nov 6 and had Pluto (the character) for our included MM photo op.

While we have not been there Christmas week - I think that there are several strategies for getting scenic photos. We generally do not get them if we are entering the park early in the morning during prime ride time. We more often stop on our way out (mid day or late night) as we don't feel like we are wasting no park time that way. Also - the hint to skip the first or last photographer in the line is a good one!

We have always gotten MM - to us, it's worth it, but I do often make my family stand in a line for photo ops - most are less than 5 minutes and I really like having the photo memories AND being able to be in the pictures!! If you don't feel like buying memory maker but might want access to some of the photos - check to see if photopass still sells a custom calendar - that was a popular way to get several photos printed for a keepsake at a reasonable price!

Lastly - if you don't want to get MM, you can still take advantage of having the PP Photographers take your photos with your own camera!! Even with MM we do this to have a backup copy incase one cannot be found or doesn't come out (eyes closed etc). You stand in the line - they will take the picture with their camera and scan to MB or your card and then take the photo with your camera (possibly in reverse order).

Have a great trip! Say Cheese!
