We have a MM for our April trip because we have the Platinum Annual Pass (my DH & me). My DS and his DGF are joining us for part of our trip. Can they only uses photopass when with us (and our magicbands)?

No. As long as you are linked on MDE and you both allow sharing of photos, their pictures should show up on your MM account. You will be the only one who can download them, but once you have them, you can share with whomever you wish.

Ok, so even though they are not AP holders, as long as they are linked they can get pictures taken~ like if we are in different parks?

Yes. If the accounts are linked, you will see all PhotoPass pictures they take. Even if you are at home and they go back to WDW 8 months from now on their own, you'll see the pictures and can download them - provided your AP is still valid.
