Memories Wedding Photography questions

DF and I are thinking of doing a Memories Wedding late in 2016. I have questions concerning the photography packages. I know the standard comes with 20 or 25 5x7's, but i'm sure we would opt for the disk and add an extra hour of photography. My question is, how many images can I expect to have on the disk?

Also, I hear of people hiring outside photography instead. I'm sure this would probably be the more economical option, but are the pictures as good. any opinions would be great! Thanks in advance!

Most people hire outside photographers because they think the pictures are better, but it's all personal taste. Disney estimates you get something like 40-60 images for each hour of photography. With an outside photographer, some or all of these would be edited and enhanced. With Disney it's usually only a handful. But, again, some people are just fine with that. I am having a Memories wedding in June. I hired Randy Chapman and Steve Severance for video and photography as they have a very reasonable Memories package. Since you do not get refunded for any unused items in your package I am going to have DFAP photograph the ceremony and Steve will video it. Then after then ceremony I will meet with Randy who will do an additional hour of photos. I haven't decided if I want to work with him around the Poly and Grand Floridian or over go over to the Boardwalk.

Thanks for the input. Photography is the MOST important element of the whole wedding to me, so it has to be great! Can anyone offer any suggestions for outside photographers that would fit into my budget? I think we would set a photography budget of $700.00, the same amount we would spend if we went with Disney photography.
