Memories of the DREAM come true ….. 08/09 All 30 days done!

so if you drink it all on the ship..you are good to go? :lmao: LOL Actually, If I remember right in my readings some places make you hand you liquor over to the ship till you disembark. I can't remember now if that is certain cruise lines or certain islands.

You will be safe (legally, don't know how much you can handle ;)) if YOU drink it on board ..... Claire, not so much! :rotfl2:
It's somewhere in their contract that you can bring it on board, but you have to consume it in your stateroom - no party in the halls! :lmao:
We read up on it, as Tom wanted to bring some beer on board and as long as you carry it on, they are A-okay with it. :goodvibes

I second the eggs benedict I love them almost as much as Karin!!!

Rosie, I knew I could count on you when it comes to Eggs Benedict! Now that I see my trip reports I notice that I really seem to order them whenever I can .... thank god for NO calories at Disney! :rotfl2:

Day 17, August 29

And another trip to Nassau - Part 3

Before we headed back to our stateroom we walked up to deck 12, checking the enchanted art along the way and then walked along the deck for a while to take in the view of Nassau.
When we finally returned to our stateroom shortly after 6 pm we found another towel animal waiting.

IMG_1919.jpg

This time it was a huge tortoise, which we sat on the desk so we could enjoy it for the rest of our cruise.
We were tired already, so we rested for a while, watching TV and hoping that they would be able to get Castaway Cay ready for our visit in two days time. We left Nassau shortly after we had returned to our stateroom and we sat outside on our veranda and watched the ship leaving port.

At around 7pm we decided on finding a fun comment for the Roaming Gnome

IMG_1930.jpg

and then walked to one of the staterooms in our Fish Extender group to get it on its way again. We took a stop at the shops again and actually picked up some merchandise. At that time they were offering a 25 dollar discount on purchases over 100 dollars and needless to say we easily hit the target number. Then it was time to finally get back to the stateroom to get ready for dinner at Animator’s Palette. When we arrived in front of the restaurant the Fishermans were already waiting for us and we all got in line together and when the doors finally opened we were quickly taken to our table. Ana and Sapto were right at hand and stunned over the chocolate Jeff and his family had gotten for them.

IMG_1958.jpg

The kids were excited once the screens came alive and Crush started to interact with the diners.

IMG_1932.jpg

IMG_1933.jpg

Unfortunately he didn’t stop to talk to our table, but the kids were still enjoying it.
Once our drinks had been served we all placed our orders for dinner. Tom ordered the

IMG_1935.jpg

Sesame Flavored Rock Shrimp and Carmalized Onion Cheesecake, with Asian barbeque sauce and topped with micro greens and

IMG_1939.jpg

the Vine Ripe Tomato Salad with Bell peppers and onion, topped with micro greens and herb dressing and I ordered my favourite,

IMG_1937.jpg

the Black Truffle Pasta Purseittes, Pasta purse filled with truffle scented cheese and coated with a delicate champagne sauce.
For our main courses Tom chose

IMG_1941.jpg

the Marinated Angus Beef Tenderloin, carved to order on wasabi mashed potatoes with bok choy and tamarind-barbecue reduction while I wanted to try

IMG_1944.jpg

the Animator's Trio of Veal, Grilled tenderloin, pulled shank and tortellacci pasta with a sun-dried tomato and sage reduction and garnished with a potato crisp.
While the adults were still enjoying their entrée the kids were picked up to go to the kids club again and since Molly and Philip loved the club so much they left even before the main show in the dining room was over.
Then it was time for dessert. Tom ordered

IMG_1955.jpg

the Crunchy Walnut Cake, Dark chocolate mousse and raspberry coulis, while I wanted to try

IMG_1949.jpg

the Sweet Temptations, a trio of

IMG_1951.jpg

crunchy walnut cake,

IMG_1950.jpg

pineapple financier and

IMG_1952.jpg

lemon mousse. We sat and enjoyed the desserts and lingered even a little longer than usual before saying our goodbyes to Ana and Sapto.
On our way to the Atrium we walked past the shops which were about to close and we met some of our friends from the DISboards and stopped and chatted.
Now, in the meantime the shops had closed and in one shop a Cast Member was preparing a desk for the captain’s signing the next day. We watched her for a while and then she started showing the different matted prints they had on offer.

IMG_1960.jpg

Being in a very fun mood we all began signing if and how much we liked the prints. This went for quite a while and a few other Cast Members started to watch the “show” as well. We all were in stitches over the fun presentation and signed the Cast Member how much we had enjoyed her show.
It was a fun ending to a wonderful day, as a short time later we all said our goodbyes and headed back to our staterooms to call it a night.

To be continued ..........

Howie also had the same appetizer as Tom and Howie & Scott had the beef tenderloin as well. Rachel had the shrimp with pasta, and when Scott saw that, after he finished his beef, he had to have the shrimp with pasta. I also had the veal trio. It was an enjoyable meal. We had such a fun time by the shops. Because of that cast member showing us the prints, we are now the owner of 2 of them. I have one hanging in the wallway of my house and Howie has the other one in his office. Everytime I walk by the print, I think of all of you and the laughs we had. :rotfl2: Fun memories. :)

The food on the ship is really nice, even though we have had it a few times now, I am always looking forward to it!
Wasn't that girl in the shop just so cute? And she did sell a lot of prints the next day, as we went to buy two as well :lmao: and she told us that several of the people in our "group" had come by to pick some up! :rotfl2:

The food looks delish !!I would have to go with the beef this time it looked perfect !!!!

We really enjoy the food on the DREAM! And if you should get something you didn't like they would just get you something else! :thumbsup2

Day 18, August 30

DREAM hospitality - Part 1

Because Hurricane Irene had done some severe damage to Castaway Cay, Captain Henry had decided to switch our Day at sea and the Castaway Cay day. So today was our Day at sea.
We slept in just a little bit, but by 8.30 we were ready to head out to breakfast. We would have loved to have breakfast at the Royal Palace again, but we did not want to hold up the dining room arriving late, so we headed towards the Enchanted Garden.
They offer a buffet breakfast as well, but at least you are seated and they bring out your drinks. So we signed in, were led to a table towards the middle of the restaurant and our server was right there to take our drinks order. Tom opted for some coffee, while I asked for some hot tea and orange juice. Once our orders had been placed we headed to the buffet for some breakfast.
We didn’t want to fill up too much as we had a few more appointments that included food this morning. Plates filled

IMG_1963.jpg

IMG_1962.jpg

with a few breakfast staples we went back to our table, where coffee, tea and juice were already waiting. We gobbled down our food and soon were ready to leave the Enchanted Garden again.
Our next stop was our stateroom, but when we approached it, we saw that our stateroom host was already at work in there, so we headed to the Cove Café for a coffee treat. Tom ordered some

IMG_1967.jpg

IMG_1969.jpg

Cappuccino, while I tried the

IMG_1966.jpg

Moccaccino, 1/3 espresso and chocolate blended with vanilla ice cream. Both were very nice and while we sat and enjoyed our drinks we noticed a fellow Austrian in the café.
Andreas who is the Hotel Manager on board was sitting with someone else on the opposite side of the restaurant. When he had finished his coffee and passed by our table he greeted us and we greeted right back in German. It was fun to see him turn around on the spot and ask if he had heard an Austrian accent. He stayed at our table for some time and we all chatted for a while. We had nearly finished our drinks when he left and stayed just a little longer before we returned to our stateroom for a short while.
We found some more gifts in our Fish Extender

and after putting them away we got ready to head out to the “Making of a DREAM” presentation.

To be continued ..........

Oh Karin! That Moccaccino looks so good! I did not know you could get something like that. I have to get one in Sept. will put that on my must do list!

Teresa, they have them at the Vista Cafe and the Cove Cafe! It was so good! I cannot wait to have another one in 85 days! :thumbsup2

Love your little gifts!

We got so many great FE gifts .... I was hoping we would not have to take home so many things, but we had half a suitcase full of fun gifts. I loved them all! :goodvibes

Day 18, August 30

DREAM hospitality - Part 2

We found some more gifts in our Fish Extender and after putting them away we got ready to head out to the “Making of a DREAM” presentation.
That took place in Evolution and we cut it close to the starting time, but we made it. The presentation featured a lot of facts about the making of the Disney Dream by the Meyer-Werft in Germany, the construction of the Disney Fantasy and a few of the things that would be different on the two ships.
It took about 45 minutes and we even lingered for a few more minutes to chat with the Cast Member who had done the presentation as she was from London, England.
Funnily enough she had grown up about 15 minutes from where our aunt lives in London, so we had plenty to talk about. Once we had said our goodbyes we had to really rush to our next appointment.
But before that we needed to hurry to the shops to pick up some matted prints of the Disney Dream which we wanted to have signed by the Captain lateron. We met our favourite Cast Member from the day before, who had presented all the prints from inside the closed store.
Needless to say, she even recognized us and we had a fun little chat about how she entertained us so well. Purchases in hand we headed to our stateroom, threw in the prints and off we went again. Since we were Gold Castaway Members from this cruise on we were invited to the Captain’s reception.
When we arrived the room was already pretty full, but we managed to find a small table and were immediately offered a champagne cocktail and some finger sandwiches.

IMG_1973.jpg

A little later one of the officers who were walking from table to table to chat with the guests told us to go and have our photo taken with Captain Mickey. We did, but completely forgot about it in the end and never got a print of it. Once back at our table we kept on nibbling our sandwiches and the Captain gave a little speech.

DSC_0470-1.jpg

He talked about possible destinations that people had suggested and the funniest moment was, when he mentioned that this was to stay in the room, he wouldn’t want to read it on the DISboards the next morning. Now, does that mean HE is reading the DISboards too? :rotfl2:
Once Captain Henry had finished his speech the officers went from table to table and had a little small talk with the people attending. About 5 minutes before our Brunch Reservation at Palo we just had to leave and when we headed out we were both handed a

Rice Crispy Mickey Treat as a little thank you for attending. We quickly headed back to our stateroom, freshened up a tiny bit and about 5 minutes past our reservation time we left our stateroom and headed upstairs to Palo.

Day 18, August 30

DREAM hospitality - Part 3

We quickly headed back to our stateroom, freshened up a tiny bit and about 5 minutes past our reservation time we left our stateroom and headed upstairs to Palo.
We signed in and were told to take a seat at Meridian until we were to be called. It didn’t take long and we were led to one of the four tops right by the window again.
Funnily enough we were seated right next to two other DISboard members who were in our Fish Extender group, Debbie and Ileana. This time our server was not Ann-Marie, as since we were late I didn’t want to make a fuss and ask for her, but she came over and told us that our server was her “Mini Me”, and low and behold our server looked a lot like her and had been trained by her. Gabriella, our server was from Eastern Europe too and she explained the brunch to us, then asked for our drinks orders and told us to enjoy the view until she came back and took us for a tour of the buffet. She was back very quickly with coffee and tea and two Mimosas and then we followed her to the buffet where she pointed out the selection.

There were lots of breakfast foods and lots of seafood and cheeses to choose from, then there was a hot course to be ordered and last but not least there were lots of yummy sweet treats displayed.
After she had explained everything she handed both of us a plate and told us to fill it with everything our heart desired and that we would be welcome to the buffet as often as we wanted to. Tom and I filled our plates with delicious food and went back to our table to enjoy it.

We both only had a plate each so we could save some room for what else was to come and when Gabriella realized that we were done with our first course and had ordered our hot course, she brought out a Four Cheese Pizza to haul us over until our order would be ready.
