Can't wait to read all about it! Wow! To have that many nights in WDW and the Dream must have been awesome! :goodvibes

I can't wait to read about your trip. Especially the parts about the cruise. We are cruising the Dream in April and we are beyond excited !!

Coming over from the dining thread to follow your Dream adventures too!! Can't wait!

Subbing! Trying to catch up with all of my TRs that I'm following. Almost forgot your's! :scared1:

Oh wow! I can't believe I actually came across one of your TRs at the beginning! :woohoo: I have really enjoyed reading some of your completed reports, and I'm excited to be along for the ride this time!

Hi everyone!
I am surprised there is such high interest in our Disney memories ...... ;) but I am really enjoying all the attention. I have been busy typing the first few days and I hope to post the first "update" tonight. I have a little more time before I leave for school and I will answer a few of your posts and as soon as I'll be back in the evening and have answered all the posts you can expect the update! :thumbsup2

Hi Karin, Just signed on for a few minutes and see that you have started your trip report!! Looking forward to it! Elaine

Welcome! :goodvibes
Hi Elaine, I am so happy to have you on board for the trip report as well.

Your introduction has me smiling already!

Sorry about your cold... don't you wish you could call room service and get a nice cuppa?

I'm guessing that school has started for you again. Hope your class(es) are filled with great kids.

Welcome! :goodvibes
I am really truely happy to have you on board here as well! I guess you will get mentioned here a few times! ;)
I am still nursing my cold - especially now, that the weather here has turned cold too. It snowed in many parts of Austria yesterday, and I am SO not ready for it. :scared1:
Thankfully I didn't sign up for class teacher duties this year, so that gives me a little room to breath. And so far kids have been very good, but we are only in week two of our school year! ;)

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for me being first. :goodvibes

It would be lovely if we were upgraded to a 1 bedroom at OKW (I could do laundry, etc.), but we'll be happy with our studio. I just can't wait to get there and see it for myself.

Please take photos of the studio, Kathy. We have never stayed in one, but I am considering it, now that we will stay on points and we might get a longer stay with staying in the studio! :thumbsup2
I hope you'll love OKW as much as we do! For me, driving through the gates (in a car) and hearing the guard tell us "Welcome Home" make the vacation become really real! :lmao:
I just love that the resort doesn't feel like a hotel - all the individual units feel like this is a little village and you feel so much at home there. Can't actually wait to go back there! :goodvibes

Loving it! :thumbsup2

Welcome! :goodvibes
Hi Jennifer!
I really can't wait to start posting - we met so many wonderful people this summer and you were the first of them all! Tom and I LOVED meeting you and let me tell you one thing - we wore your shirts the day we went on the DREAM for the first time and sooooooooo many people commented on them - even the CMs loved them! Thank you again and again and again! :thumbsup2

I am subscribing. It sounds like an amazing trip!

Welcome! :goodvibes
It was one of the best trips to WDW we have ever taken. We stayed at our favourite resort, got to cruise on the DREAM three times and met the most wonderful DISfriends! It was a DREAM come true ...... :woohoo:

I knew you'd be here, Tina! Lots of interesting details to share and maybe we can convince Mark that he is a "cruiser" after all! ;) :lmao:

I'm here too :goodvibes

Welcome! :goodvibes
Hi, Queen! Tom and I thought of you often while we were at WDW and we kept an eye out for you, but unfortunately our paths did not cross.

It's been busy around here lately, but I finally made it! Looking SO forward to reading all about it!!!:woohoo:

Welcome! :goodvibes
Hi Mary Ellen!
We missed you SO much this trip! You definitely have to go to Disney with us again next summer - hm, maybe we could squeeze in a cruise as well? I am sure you would get along with Teri and Mick perfectly! PLEASE, my bestest friend consider it! ....... or is there another grandchild on the horizon?
Oh, and now that you have reached 10 posts you can post photos - I guess I need to show you how - we all want to see a photo of your beautiful little granddaughter! :)

Looking forward to reading your trip report. I have followed some of your other reports (just lurking) and I really enjoyed them. Just thought I would come out of lurkdom and say hello and can't wait to read more!

Welcome! :goodvibes
How wonderful you came out of lurkdome! Please feel free to chime in, whenever you feel like it! I love comments! :cloud9:
And thanks for reading my other reports!

I can't wait to read all about it!!! I still can not get over how long of a trip you took. I think that we here in the US could stand to learn a thing or two from other countries... I get 0 vacation time and dh...well, after dd's surgery he lost all his and is down to 0 days (even though technically he worked the two weeks.:sad2:). We will still be going in December...but we will definitely have to budget around the loss of wages for taking the time off.

Welcome! :goodvibes
It's so good to know that you will be on board as well.
I know, not everyone is able to take a vacation as long as ours, and we are both very thankful we have so much paid vacation time. Tom gets 6 weeks a year since he has been 25 years with the company. Teachers have 9 weeks during the summer and then there are a lot of times off during the year. So I count myself VERY lucky to have chosen this as my profession. :goodvibes

I still have not gotten over the fact that your DH still had to use his vacation time during Zoe's surgery, even though he was working - so not fair.
And I cannot believe you don't get ANY vacation time! :scared1:
But at least you will get to go to WDW and little Zoe darling is doing better! She is such a cutie!

Can't wait to hear all about it!

Welcome! :goodvibes
Hi Abby, I really love that you join us here! :woohoo:

Okay, lets get this show on the road .........

Day 1, August 13

Let the memories begin - Part 1

Finally, the big day was here! I had spent the night at Tom’s house, so I didn’t have to drive there in the morning. We got up around 7am, missing our little princess, Pixie, who had moved into a “cat-hotel” the day before and got ready. Around 8 we had a leisurely breakfast, cleaned up the kitchen and went upstairs to do some last minute things around the house, when Tom’s phone rang. His friend, who had organized the taxi to pick us up, told us, that the taxi was already waiting. Darn, it was 20 minutes early, so we hurried to check everything, lock up the house, load the luggage into the taxi and off we went. It takes about 25 minutes to get to the airport and we arrived there with plenty of time to spare. Once we had hauled our luggage inside the tiny airport we were stunned at how full the check-in area was. Luckily we realized that most of these people were in line for a charter flight and since we had done online check-in, all we had to do was drop off our luggage. Then we breezed through security and spent some time browsing the duty free shop. Since there was not much to see or do we took a biological break and then settled at the gate.

Our flight was on time

and in no time we were at cruising altitude

and were handed a

Corny Bar, a Granola type bar, which was banana chocolate flavour. Then we were offered some drinks and we both had Coke to go with it. The flight to Frankfurt takes only 55 minutes and before we knew it we were descending into Frankfurt airport.

The plane parked at an outside position, so we had to transfer to a bus before we finally got to the terminal building. Frankfurt airport is huge and the unfortunate thing is that we always have to get from one end of the airport to the other, and in doing so we have to actually leave the airport and go through security once again. We had cleared the passport control, all our hand luggage had been expected, only Tom’s camera needed to be “wiped”. :confused3 So he had to follow one of the security people and they had a good look at the camera, wiped it for explosives and then he joined me again to go through another security check to ensure our immigration in the USA. When we had finally gotten all that behind us we picked up a bottle of my favourite perfume and a bottle of Tom’s and then headed upstairs to our gate. There was still a little time to have a look around the stores and Tom picked up a book that had peeked his interest. And after long last we were allowed to board.

Once we had stowed our luggage and settled into our seats we were ready to leave good old Europe behind us and head for the “new world”. It didn’t take long and we were rolling out onto the runway

and took off. Once we had reached cruising altitude we were handed

little snack bags filled with crackers and pretzels and were served some drinks. I had a glass of Coke and Tom had a can of German beer.

To be continued ..........

Hi Karin, and Tom! Just found your TR, and since we were on a little bit of it with you (your 2nd part of your b2b2b dream) I need to subscribe!!! :goodvibes

Can't believe how far y'all have to travel for all your Disney trips!! I think it is so cool that you like Disney so much.

Hi Karin! Your travel days must be so exhausting. How long are you actually traveling, including airport time? The time change must be very hard too. (We have pretty difficult travel days as well because we live in a very small town with limited air access and end up having to fly to a city, spend the night, and then fly to Orlando the next day. Only a 3-hour time change though.)
