My kids were 7 and 3 when we first went. I did not do an ounce of planning:scared1: but what I (we) did do was watch ' sing a long a disneyland - its a small world', it was on video....and long lost, but we loved that video....

anyway I found it on Amazon, on DVD....I blubbered when we started it it brought back so many memories....My other half has said we will have to store it on the hard disk so that when I play it out it will always be there...gosh he knows me well.:cool1:

You and yours sound as daft as me and mine!!:lmao:

I agree the 1st time is amazing ! we did no planning or research as there was no internet to speak of l and I think that added to the magic :wizard:

I remember our first visit in 1992 all I had to go on was the spots on 'Holiday' and 'Wish You Were Here' plus a planning video from Thomas Cook (which I came across this weekend at the back of the video cabinet). I also had the Birnbaum Official Guide and followed their touring plans.

I still have all the park maps and park hours etc from that trip.

We went in 1998 when DD was 4 and DS was 7. Very little planning, but our best trip by far.

Our friends had been the year before and bought souvenir videos so we borrowed these. (They focussed on a family, with a mum who looked like Daphne from Neighbours, visiting the parks.)

The only thing I was adamant about was that we needed to stay on-site - I was terrified the parks would close because they were at capacity - we went in August and the parks were very quiet!!:)

That was me...I had to stay onsite...we stayed in what was Dixie Landings...amazing, I am looking forward to visiting it this next trip.

I loved this as a kid, even though i was gutted years later to realise it was Disneyland and not Disney World!

but I know how you feel when you see something Disney related from years ago! very special :)
