Memories of Little Green Men and Sardines (6/8-17, 2010) **FINAL UPDATE 2-25-2011**

Noooooo! Don't leave us in suspense like that! I can't believe that CM gave you the wrong info! I also can't believe you managed to keep your cool throughout! I bet I wouldn't have. Due to your story, I am 100% sure we will be taking a cab the day we do our photo shoot! Can't wait to hear more!

I know, I even thought it was cruel for me to leave everyone in suspense at that point of our day! I am in the process of trying to finish up the second part of Day 2, so hopefully will get it posted this weekend.

I honestly don't know how I managed to stay calm, especially once I realized we were at the TT&C...I wanted to completely freak out & yell & scream & mostly CRY...but I knew I had to stay calm for my son & husband or else they both would've been yelling too! It would've been interesting to see an entire family all dressed up running around TT&C yelling! :lmao:

I definitely, definitely, definitely, definitely suggest getting a cab. First of all, from what I've heard, its MUCH faster than Disney transportation. It might cost a little more, but definitely worth it! We had to leave over an hour early...in a cab, you may only have to leave 15-20 minutes early. Great idea! Which resort are you using for your photo session?

I'm so sorry that your day had such a rough start. I'm hoping things turned around and you were able to reschedule for later that day! :) I know how stressful and overwhelming it can be as a really good plan starts to unravel piece by piece.

Thanks! We definitely had a huge transportation disaster, as I now refer to it! It was definitely overwhelming...looking back, I'm actually amazed that I stayed as calm as I did! I'm in the process of working on the rest of Day 2, so hopefully will have the rest of the story posted soon for all of you to read!

Uggggg, what a mess! I decided on this last trip when going from resort to resort that I would no longer be relying on Disney transportation - it's just too much of a pain! It's totally worth the extra money for a cab :thumbsup2

I can't wait to hear the rest of the story!!!

HI!!! I am back from vacation and all caught up!! You have me SO nervous. I hope you can reschedule your photo session!! Poor thing--Disney buses are SO confusing. At least the CM was nice to you :goodvibes

OH BTW--my son (2 1/2) still uses his paci to sleep. We really hate it, but have put it off too long. I love the idea of leaving it with Mickey Mouse!! How wonderful. I don't know if I will be able to wait until December to do it, though ;)

I am planning on having ours at the Grand Floridian. My plan is to have 8 am ADR's at Crystal Palace and do the morning in Magic Kingdom, then go back to the hotel at 12 to rest and refresh and then have our photoshoot at 4. We have 5:15 ADR's at CRT, so do you think that gives us enough time? The photosession is 30 minutes right?

I love your touring style. We also love to hang and relax at the resort :)

ok, I'm on page 5 so I don't really know if your dates changed or not. But the only time I went in Dec. it was around Dec. 13 and it was great. So don't fret about it. It was fun :)

Oh, don't leave us hanging like that! I'm impressed that you kept your cool, I would have been a bawling mess at that point!

Ok so we were talking about being Disney nuts...here is my bedspread I found on ebay which is one for the DCL --same as in some staterooms....always feeling like I am there...well kinda....LOL

and here is my Disney rec room/ family room. Red and white walls, black trim and yellow trim around windows and chair rail. Just like Mickey!

with my prints I got signed on the ship.

Really neat!

Glad Tiger came home!

My cat (Timon) goes outside too. And when he doesn't come home around 8-9pm, I'm always outside looking for him. I worry. I wish we could keep him inside, but we can't.

Hey Hope... what a crazy start to that day :scared1: I would have been flipping too.

Did you know you can add a day to your tickets for like $3 each? I would have just walked through Epcot

I really hope you got to do the photo shoot cause I know that is the thing you were looking forward to the most

Yes, Michelle it was a very stressful morning! Next trip, I will definitely be taking a cab! Disney transportation is convenient if you aren't in a hurry or have a ressie, but if you need to be somewhere at a certain time, forget it! It takes forever! Next time, we're taking a cab!!!

Oh NO!!! That totally stinks!!! I hope everything works out!

I know, Reese, it was sooo stressful! You don't know how many times I just wanted to cry!!!

Hi Katie! How was your vacation? Glad you were able to catch up after your trip...I should be posting another update this week. I wanted to post this evening, but I'm having trouble with my laptop power adapter. I ordered a new one & it should be here tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest. I will post an update as soon as it arrives!

Disney transportation can be confusing, especially whenever different CM's tell you different things at times. Next time, we're taking a cab!

Thanks for sharing about your son, it makes me feel better! We actually went & bought our son a 2 pack of binkys because we honestly thought he was going through withdrawal. I have never seen anything like it, it was horrible! It took a few weeks but we finally gave in & told him he could only have "ink, ink" at bedtime or naps...and once these 2 were gone, no more "ink ink". I reminded him that we had left "ink, ink" at the Castle with Mickey Mouse. He loved the Castle so much, so I made sure to include it! He seemed ok with it...he actually didn't use his binky a few nights & rarely for naps since we bought the 2 binkys. I am happy to report that Friday evening, he bit his last binky & ruined it, so I threw it away! He's been ok since then. He's asked for "ink, ink" a few times over the weekend, but my husband or I just change the subject. It seems to be ok now. I hope you are able to get your son's binky away from him as well...but if not, I definitely recommend the Mickey trick! Works everytime from what I've heard from other moms! :goodvibes

I don't want to give away anything until I post the rest of Day 2...but I will respond to your question after I post!!! ;)

If I forget to answer...please remind me again!

I love the it's a small world stickers!

Yes, we did change our dates. We went June 8-17th. I think its somewhere between page 15-20 somewhere, but we had to change due to my husband's job. I'm still disappointed about missing Disney for Christmas...but I'd rather go in June instead of December than to not go to Disney all year!

Yes, Tiger makes me super nervous when he goes outside. In the winter, he usually stays inside all day & all night. He'll go outside for a few hours here & there on warmer days, but he's always waiting at the door. In the summer, he usually just goes outside & stays near the house. But recently, he's been wondering off further & further away. Sometimes he goes out at 4am and doesn't come home until at least 8 or 9pm, sometimes later! He definitely makes me nervous! I recently figured out he goes to a local farm & they have lots of barns on their property. It made me feel better because at least I know he's inside shelter if its raining/storming. And they are animal lovers so they would take good care of him! :goodvibes

I went to Michael's craft store this week & got more Disney stickers & scrapbook pages! I will have to post pictures of them on here one day this week!

Hey Natalie! It was definitely an interesting morning to say the least!

About the tickets for $3 more a day...yeah, I figured that out but not until later in our trip! lol Wish I would have known that morning because my husband & I love Epcot! We wouldn't have minded spending an extra day there at all!

I really appreciate what you said about hoping I get the photo shoot because you knew its what I really wanted to do! That means alot to me!!! :goodvibes

Completely off subject of my trip report, but it is Disney related!!!

I know this is probably very old news to most of you, especially if you see movies as soon as they come out...but this weekend I watched Alice in Wonderland, The Princess and the Frog, Edge of Darkness, and 2012.

Wasn't a huge fan of 2012...it had a good ending but the movie wasn't what I thought it would be.

Edge of Darkness was great...any parent out there needs to watch it...I was bawling my eyes out multiple times!!! I even stopped the DVD, went to the store, came back to finish the rest of the movie...and STILL cried! Normally, if I watch a movie in 2 parts, I don't get emotional...but boy was I crying! Great movie!

I know any dad out there will want to smack me for saying this, but I think my son liked The Princess & the Frog more than I did!!! For some reason, he loves all of the Tink movies so I wasn't shocked that he liked this movie. He loves animals & it seemed like his favorite character was the crocodile because whenever he was on, my son would jump up & clap! Too cute! We really enjoyed this movie & watched it twice together! (I love frogs & I decorated his nursery with frogs when he was an infant, so maybe he liked the frogs in the movie, too?)

Alice in Wonderland was really good too!!! I'm sort of glad I didn't watch it before we went to Disney because I would have spent more money! :lmao: There was Alice merchandise EVERYWHERE on our trip! I honestly wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did...the original cartoon Alice was one of my favorites as a child so I just thought I wouldn't like this version! Turns out that I really enjoyed it! I think I'll rent it again someday...and now I wish I would've bought that cute Alice purse I saw while in Disney!

ALSO...my 2 pieces of GREAT news!!! First, did you know they have TOY STORY VINYLMATIONS out now??? I was soooo surprised! Again, probably old news if you keep up with the current Disney releases. Me, personally, I think I'm behind! I've been spending all of my time staring at Dooneys on ebay & trying to finish my PhotoPass pictures! I guess I haven't been keeping up with the new releases of Disney merchandise!

And second...did you see the new COLORED Sketch Disney Dooneys???? I guess they came out July 1st and only the sketch wristlet and sketch messenger bag are offered in the colors (for now anyway!) They come in yellow, pink, green, purple, and blue. I am leaning towards the green, but also love the pink and blue! I think even if I decide to someday buy a Sketch, I'd get the original white one, but with the colored wristlet!

I am on :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

I am so excited... I LOVED Alice... what kind of merchandise was there? I am looking for a mad hatters hat and the cool blue colored cheshire cat

We don't like to have a schedule on vacation either. But being there for 2 weeks allows us to have a few ADRs. But we might cancel some, depending on how we feel.

I lllllllllloooooooooooooooveeeeeeeeee the Princess and the Frog. And don't get me started about Alice. If you read my PTR, you will know how obsessed I am with the movie lol

Just started reading your TR and Wow, what an emotional roller coaster for you. Your son is adorable and I can't wait to find out if you got to reschedule your photo session.

Oh Natalie, you will be very excited about the Alice merchandise! There is a mad hatters hat...did you see a picture of it? I'll try to find one...and if I don't have one in my vacation photos, I know I saw one on another trip report. I'll try to find it for you!

The mad hatter hat looks just like the one Johnny Depp wears in the movie...and it includes the red hair! I saw lots of people walking around with them on. I heard someone mention that they were sold out at alot of stores, but we were there when it was SUPER BUSY! I'm sure they're available again. Are you visiting Downtown Disney on your trip? I saw lots of Alice merchandise at Tren-D. Not sure about the cheshire cat, but I know there were some cute shirts from the movie. I'm sure there's something with the cheshire cat on it!

I love the Nemo wallpaper in the room"

I loved the Nemo wallpaper as well as the bedspread! It was just the right amount of Nemo decor added to the room! I loved that it wasn't completely "themed" and still had the caribbean feel to it yet it still included Nemo. My son discovered Nemo on our last trip to Disney & he's loved him ever since! We had a fish named Nemo last summer & he has the stuffed animals & bedsheets/comforter! Its still one of my favorite movies.

I agree with you. I don't like having a complete schedule on vacation, but do like making dining ressies! Next trip, we're definitely trying the regular Dining Plan!

I am going to check out your PTR as soon as I get back from the store this afternoon!!!

Oh, yes! Definitely a roller coaster! My husband's job creates that in my life almost on a daily basis!

Thank you for saying my son is adorable! :goodvibes

I'm hoping to post another update this week.
