Planning a trip for next year mixing WDW and Universal but it looks like our plan to stay at Unoversal will be over Memorial weekend, which I understand is busy for you guys. Do you think there will be any problems securing a room at that time (assuming we book in October.....don't think we can book before then) ?

i booked this year's october stay at HRH last year on oct. 22 2007.

you can book now and then modify the rate when the AAA or AP rates or super saver rates come out.

now this was last year i did it, but sometimes things can change.

you can send an email to see if they will accept a booking for next year.
i noticed you are not locale, might as well save a dime on that phone call if need be until you have to.

I booked our room back in January for Memorial weekend, the Sunday night, and was still able to rebook with APH rate in late April :)

Hi there,

I booked the HR for the Sunday of Memorial weekend 2009 on the phone last week.

Got a rate of $289 plus tax for 4 of us in a garden view room.

Kate

Hi Kate, did you ring the hotel direct? Do you still have the number?

thanks
Rob

Hi Rob,

I think I rang guest services (407-224-4233), but not 100% sure - got the number from the Universal website & I had an email confirmation today.

I'll keep looking to see if they have any better rates when the window opens online, (I think the cancellation policy is 14 days prior), but at least I know that I have it booked now anyway.

Hi Kate thanks, just phoned and booked our 4 nights :cool1: thanks very much for your post. I phoned about a month ago and was advised I could not book until Oct/Nov :confused3

As you say it is good to have the booking in the bag and not have to worry about not getting a room! Donna advised that I could keep checking for better rates and the booking can be switched. I shall contact later to see what discount may be on offer to a APH (don't have one yet but it might be worth while for a decent room discount and the discounts on shops and food.

thanks again
Rob

Am a bit slow, we will be there at the same time as you! .....will keep a look out for you :rotfl:

Hannah (DD) will be with the father who will not be behaving himself (!), with DW looking on in embarrasment :woohoo:

We are staying at Universal between on site at WDW either side....you?

Now that sounds like my husband:)

Staying at a villa in Windsor Palms for the 2 weeks, but was inticed to stay at HR by the FOTL passes & I'm hoping they'll take the stress out of Memorial w/e.

Am not however anticpating riding the Simpsons or Cat in the Hat more than 3times no matter what my husband or the kids say!

Will let you know if I find the rooms at a better price.... Happy planning!

I think it was about $100, so 30%, for a double bay view room at PBH :)
