Memorial Day ?

Has anyone got any experience going to WDW on this holiday weekend? We're going to be there the week of 5/21 - 28 and wondered if the crowds will pick up enough on Friday and Saturday to make us want to get our Disney "fix" earlier in the week.

It will probably pick up a bit starting the Thursday before Memorial Day until Tuesday. We have done this week several times before with no problems. Just make sure that you check the parks to avoid list on the UG site. You should be fine. It is still not as busy that weekend as a mid-summer week.

Scroll down towards the bottom of the page and you'll see the crowd level calendar. It's on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most crowded. It also has the best park to visit/parks to avoid for each day.

I was there 2 years ago right before Memorial Day. We left the Friday before Memorial day to go to Boca for the beach and to see family.

Th crowds were very managable. I definatley saw increase in crowds starting on the Thursday. If you plan it should not be a problem. Take the advice of the other poster who suggested UG....that is my bible to Disney and we hardly ever wait on lines even when crowded. Another suggestion is using TGM...he has some great information.

I'm going to Disney from May 23rd - May 30th, I should have checked about it being during an American holiday Weekend but oh well! lol! Is it really that much busier than normal? I'm travelling with my husband, 2 dd's aged 9 & 6 and my ds aged 2, should I avoid the parks that the ug site says to or does it really matter?
What is fast pass and how does it work?
Is it feesible to do a park a day and see and do pretty much all that it offers for our kids age groups?
I'm soooo excited, but I hate crowds and can't believe I was such a cracker for not realizing the Memorial day weekend was during our holidays!! eekk!
I want it to be perfect, we have kept it a total surprise and cant wait to let the cat out of the bag!!
