Memorial Day crowds

I know that holidays are an exceptionally busy time for WDW, so is it the same on Memorial Day? We are going to be there then but have been considering not visiting any parks that day and just hanging out at our resort and going to the Hoop-Dee-Doo show that night. Just looking for some opinions. Thanks

2 years ago we were there the week before and including Memorial Weekend--I cannot tell you the difference 1 day made! Thursday the parks were not very crowded and immaculate. Friday the parks were a little busier but still clean. Saturday came and what a difference! It was jammed (and we arrived at opening!) The park was filthy that day, lines were long and we finally gave up about 2:00 p.m. I would DEFINITELY stay out of the parks during that weekend, especially if you have other things to do. Talk about a place changing overnight!

Thanks so much for the advice. Like I thought, Memorial Day weekend will be packed! We are arriving on the 29th and not planning to go to any parks that day. I think we will try on Sunday the 30th but if crowds are really bad we'll head back to the WL. Definitely NO parks on the 31st and will resume touring them on June 1st for 5 more days. It's nice to know what we need to prepare for, as we are traveling to 'the world' with our 9 year old son and 18 month old baby. Thanks for the heads up, I really appreciate it.

I'm so glad you started this thread. DS9 and I will arrive at WDW on May 30 and will stay for 5 nights. We'll probably just stay at the resort on Sunday but which park would you think would be the LEAST crowded on Monday, May 31? I know it's Memorial Day but I was thinking that MAYBE people might be heading back home on that day and it might not be SOOOO crowded.
